Johnny Depp is a national treasure. He's magical. He's awesomely good looking. And a very mysterious host. Both grown ups and kids love him so much. What is it about him, you think, that makes... Well, for one, I think he's a major talent. Two, he's awesomely good looking. Three, he's, um... He's not like most people you know. I suppose he's got that sort of... unique combination of extreme warmth and generosity. And doesn't take himself very seriously. Johnny is an extremely gentle and kind and thoughtful man. I'm not the captain of this ship! He's a part of me that's... and a part of all of us that we wish we could be. I should like to speak to Victor in disembowelment! I should like to speak to Victor! He is able to get away with things that we'd love to be able to get away with. Gentlemen! These two prisoners will lead us to the tribe. And he's a fantastic clown. Now, line up... There's a... There's something of him that's... that just says whatever comes out of his mouth and then deals with it. Maybe realises it about five and a half seconds later because he's a little scrambled up top. Take it a bit more in before you say your... You're not going to be, like, bored hanging out with Johnny Depp. He's... a bit magical. Why? She was almost finished. You ruined it, you ruined it! So you're kind of like the master of disguise in Hollywood, I feel. Oh, wow. So do you think it's easier to get into a part when you can dress up in costumes or is it easier when you're more like... It's easier to lose yourself when you... Like, for example, if you're in a period film and the costume makes you... It changes your posture. It makes you stand a certain way, it makes you feel a certain way. So it's like being wrapped up in the character's skin. And for me, it's always been easier. It's more comfortable. It's always more difficult when you're playing someone else. Jimmy, I got a problem. Johnny Depp is a national treasure. He is. He's like a... He's a creature. He's like a... He's a real, true artist. Sick with what? He's just got a fever. I think it's the flu. Should I take him to the doctor? No, he'll be okay. He'll be fine in a few days. Being in his company feels like... You feel like something different's going on in the room. He's amazing. Johnny's... He's a little bit enchanting. Not in a romantic way. There's something kind of childlike and fascinating about him. He has this fascination with the world and things around it. I think he's a very curious individual. And very mysterious, obviously. But lovely. He's a stellar human being. I'm not going to paint a picture of him that's not true. I had done a movie with him before. And he would stand out in the rain. I'm not making this up. For hours. After he worked a 12-hour, 14-hour day. And sign everybody's autograph. Inhale. Right? And literally go systematically through. Nobody does that. Nobody needs to do that. But he would do that. I've never heard a bad word said about Johnny. Me neither, actually. He's a great storyteller. And just has this ability to make everyone feel like you should be here. He's an actor who takes huge risks. He's an actor who really does it for his artistic reward. Personal reward. It just so happens that he's one of the biggest movie stars in the world. Well, I mean, he's in all different kinds of movies. So he connects with... He's in films that are for a younger audience and an older audience. And he does it so incredibly well. And you really don't know... I mean, I certainly don't know who he is as a person. And so you get lost in his character so easily. There's something inherently kind of accessible about him as well as being utterly mysterious. It's that sort of contradiction that I think probably makes movie stars. He's quite childish in his own special way. Put my bags. I have a bloody manservant. I mean, really, is there something magical about him? My kids call him Uncle Fun. And he is... When you are with him, you are pretty certain that nobody else is having as good a time as you are. There is something offbeat about him. Intriguing. And ultimately attractive. So I asked the other actors why they think you're so popular with both kids and grown-ups. And they said because you're cool and mysterious and magical. I don't see any of that, for sure.
