Is this the search for it?
Test the side of the truck?
Yeah.
The light bar is illuminating the snowflakes.
Everybody likes to take pictures of us.
It is 6 a.m., I'm in Los Angeles, California.
I got invited down here with my friend,
Zach from JerryRigEverything.
We've got the Cybertruck!
This is the first time that I have driven
or even sat inside of the Cybertruck,
and I can't tell you how excited I am.
Did you bring this flashlight?
I did.
With you?
Yeah.
You're so prepared.
I always have a flashlight.
The owner of this car is named Zach,
and he's got a YouTube channel.
He's over here in the dark.
I wish it was this Zach, but it is this Zach.
That's true.
Him and his wife have been making some awesome videos
on this truck, and it got wrapped.
A very unique green color.
So this is the only one in the world
that is this color, and it looks pretty cool.
Can you open it up, Zach?
Let's see how it works.
Tonneau cover and fancy lights inside.
Oh, there we go.
Oh yeah, that is not very large.
Does my luggage fit?
Yeah, I think that fits.
Oh my gosh.
One more time.
Zach used to be a flight attendant in his previous job.
GPS says nine hours.
There is major weather alerts going on in Utah
for a winter storm.
We've got snow, so how does this handle
in the snow on the highway?
Two, what's it like to charge?
Three, I want to see how people react to this.
We got to hit the road.
We got to get going, and let's talk about this truck.
I'm so excited.
Do the tappy, let's see it.
All right, one, two, three, four, five, six.
Oh my God.
It even has audio.
Oh man, I didn't go through.
That's hilarious, dude.
That is pretty cool right there.
Okay, good job, Elon.
Zach, what do they say about glass?
Glass is glass, and glass is great.
All right, we might make it today
before the sun goes down, apparently.
Now I got to do this drive thing.
Oh, that's reverse.
I don't want to go that way.
Let's go forward.
We're not off to a good start, Dan.
Don't worry, guys, we got this.
I'm going to go forward this time.
Perfect.
Yes, there we go.
All right.
We're off.
Thanks, guys.
See ya, thank you.
Wow.
Wow, I feel like the front is about to hit the road.
It feels like the clearance shouldn't be that much
because it's such a steep windshield.
It has a different way than it steers,
where the wheel does not turn all the way around.
It's cool.
It has a cool sound to it, too.
It's like the Roadster, almost.
It is.
Kind of want to park this next to my Roadster
and see the size differences.
All right, we're on the road.
We're ready to go.
Let's go.
Go.
Everybody likes to take pictures of us and videos.
So it is an interesting thing.
You get cars that sit in your blind spot for a long time.
So they're taking videos.
They come up right up close to you
because they're taking videos.
And I think they're getting aggressive.
Like, they want me to get over so they can pass.
So then I get over and then they just come up on the side
and they just sit there and film.
So it is interesting being so seen on the road.
Thumbs up.
This is a brand new Tesla Model X Plaid.
I think it's barely got it.
And they were following us for a while.
Welcome to Baker, California,
home of one of the largest superchargers in America.
How many people at the supercharger
are going to come up and talk to us?
What do you think, Zach?
Do you think more than five or less than five?
I think every single person this time.
Every single person.
I'm going to say five people.
Okay.
That's about, that is my guess.
So this is cool.
Hold on, look at the size of this freaking chicken.
That is, it is stealing an entire,
that is crazy.
That is the biggest bird I've ever seen.
There's like a hundred chargers here.
Yeah, I've camped out in that stall over there once before.
There's no stocks on here.
So in order to put it in reverse,
you swipe up on this screen.
Other way, back.
I go down.
I swipe down on the screen.
It's so weird that the steering wheel is so odd.
I look like I don't even know how to drive a car.
We made it.
Let's get the charging cable.
It doesn't reach.
Look, I'm pretty far back.
I didn't want to hit that.
As I was getting out of the car,
I always grab the top edge of the car
and I feel how sharp this is.
See.
That's wild.
That's just a fair edge.
That is crazy.
We'd have to like,
so I feel like we do.
I feel like we need to take two stalls.
Oh, Dan.
You're pushing it forward for drive,
back for reverse.
I'm learning this.
Oh boy.
The quad steering looks crazy.
Maybe I made it worse.
No, I think we're good.
It's in.
We did it.
You backed up.
I almost crashed.
You only had this for an hour, Dan.
I hit it kind of hard too.
I pushed the gas and then, oh my gosh.
That looks trippy.
Tesla owner here.
What do you, what kind of Tesla do you have?
I've got the S model over there, 2013.
Nice.
All right, what do you think about the Cybertruck?
It's cool, I like it.
Push that thing.
It's like a microwave.
Oh, there we go.
The Urus of the Teslas.
That's right, okay.
Do you know what a Urus is?
I have no idea what a Urus is.
Lamborghini SUV.
All right, all right, all right.
Okay, so we've been charging for like five minutes
while our friend has been looking at it
and these don't work.
These are out of service.
That's great.
Usually there's like a bag over it or something,
but no.
I'm really trying to use it.
That's right, what's inside family?
That's right.
Yes, I got it from Tesla's review.
No way.
Yeah, and I was like, I want a Tesla now, review.
No way.
Sounds like a great.
Here we go, we are charging at 111 kilowatts.
We've actually been here for quite a while.
I think maybe 25 minutes,
even though it said we only needed to charge for 12.
It says we have to go to Las Vegas and charge,
which typically in my Model S, after I charge in Baker,
I just drive all the way to Mesquite
or drive all the way to St. George, Utah.
I'm not super impressed yet with the range.
Here is an update.
We are in Las Vegas, Nevada.
There is Mandalay Bay and Delano.
We just threw some GoPros on the truck
in like a little tucked away area.
We're going to drive down to Las Vegas Boulevard,
get some sweet shots.
I feel cooler.
If you lack confidence, you drive this thing
and you feel like you're the coolest person in the world.
It's wild, there's so many people.
Like I'm shocked.
I knew there was going to be a lot,
but I didn't know there was going to be this many.
What's up?
Tesla Cybertruck.
Yeah.
Let me get a picture.
Yo, love, love, love.
All day, every day, even on Sunday.
I like your boy.
What do you think about this truck?
Yo, it's fire.
I would love that.
It looks like an army truck.
That's what I said.
It looks like an army truck.
This, you hear that, guy?
Shout out to my boys on TV every day, even Sunday.
Okay, I don't know what he's talking about,
but I loved it.
There's a sphere, kind of.
First thoughts, first impressions?
I like it.
You like it?
All right, cool.
Oh, look at this guy.
Yeah, Hummer.
Oh, look at that, Zach.
Whoa, yeah.
That's going to be my video here in a couple of days.
Spoiler alert.
Also, one of the things Dan's mentioned
that I don't think he said in the video yet
is sometimes like you,
and I probably do this as well,
but you steer with your knees sometimes,
but the way the steering wheel is shaped,
your knee just doesn't fit, you know,
around the steering wheel.
Like I put my knee on it,
thinking I'm leaning against it,
and it pushes me to the right.
There's these habits that you develop over time,
of driving that are hard to get rid of,
like how you signal,
how you put it into drive and reverse.
I keep putting it into reverse
when I think I'm putting it into drive.
This camera just fell over on the top,
and it was just on the glass.
And then my camera on the front is just full on gone.
Like it doesn't, it's nowhere to be found.
Oh my gosh, man.
I keep putting it in reverse instead of drive.
Oh man.
There it is.
It's in the turn lane, even better.
There she is.
I see it.
There goes Zach.
He's coming out to get my GoPro.
Las Vegas Boulevard.
Oh yeah, you can see the cars coming,
and this door is so wide.
Oh, that's a semi truck.
Okay, here we go.
Got it.
I think that thing is sending out some evil vibes.
Crashed into somebody.
The GoPro you put on, dad, have fallen off.
I gotta be honest.
It is a little bit exhausting
pulling up to every supercharger
and having everybody look at it
and they ask all the questions,
but it's also really cool.
Like I don't know what other vehicle
in the world you get that with.
Is that rich?
Oh, barely.
You have range anxiety,
now I have core charging anxiety.
It's a new thing.
When the original Roadster came out,
it was one of those things that everybody looked at,
everybody wanted to talk about,
and still when I go places, they ask questions about it.
What do you think of it, man?
That's some mess right there.
I've never seen that light before.
What is it?
It's a Tesla Cybertruck.
Tesla Cybertruck?
Yeah.
First thoughts, do you like it or do you not like it?
I like it.
You like it a lot?
Yeah, man.
It's crazy how many people show up
and just like want to see it.
Nobody's seen that like me.
I ain't never seen that light.
And then when the Tesla Model X came out
and you opened those gold wing doors, it caused a scene.
And I've experienced both of those earlier on
when they first came out.
I've never experienced anything to this level
where there's this much interest
and people are so excited about a vehicle
as they are about the Cybertruck.
Wow, Elon, that's pretty good.
If you are like a real estate agent
or you've got your name on the side of this,
people want to see it.
It definitely attracts a crowd.
Okay, this is wild.
Look at this Model Y.
It is green.
And it's just like the truck.
Like this is such a rare color.
And then we found one.
Another Model Y wrapped.
Okay, he's pulling up right next to us.
That's perfect.
We couldn't have planned this.
Look at that.
I mean, we could have, but it would have been difficult.
These people just keep driving by and waving to us
and rolling down their window
going 80 miles an hour on the freeway
and giving us a thumbs up.
But it's not just like a smile,
like a little smile, like hi.
It is like the happiest, most genuine smile.
Name me a product that does that for people.
That's the Urus that Zach didn't know what it was.
Now you know, Zach.
We are stopping to charge
and there's literally a car show.
It's like old Hot Rods and everybody's looking at us.
You wouldn't think that these people would like Tesla
because they're like old Hot Rod people,
but I think they're going to like it.
So we're just sitting here eating Chipotle
and on the back of the tonneau cover
because we don't want to stink up the car with burritos
and we're attracting a crowd.
People are taking pictures and just checking it out.
And this is like Hot Rods and Corvettes
and all these old historic cars.
What is happening right now?
We did not plan this.
We literally just need to charge for like 10 minutes
and get a little bite to eat
before we get to my small town in Southern Utah.
Turns out there's a once a year car show
here in Mesquite, Nevada.
You're here for a car show, right?
Right, correct.
For like historic cars and stuff.
Yes.
You're seeing the Cybertruck for the first time.
What do you think?
It's different, but I think they're kind of cool.
It's something I'd look into for sure.
That's pretty cool.
What do you think about Cybertruck?
I've never even seen one yet!
Do you like it?
Yes!
Do you guys like it?
I need my muscle.
No.
No!
Not luckily!
No!
What is happening, Zach?
This is crazy.
They're like, no, you're not allowed to leave.
Stay at the car show.
Everybody wants to see it.
A car show, like that old car show.
And this thing was kind of still in the show, honestly.
Everyone came over as soon as we parked.
People that typically would never even
take a second look at a Tesla.
But then the truck, they were like,
it's actually pretty cool looking.
Yeah.
We did it, we made it.
We are in my town.
I called Leslie, she's bringing the kids over
to take a look at it.
And everybody that we mention it to,
they like tell someone else.
I don't know, maybe we'll have like the mayor
of our city here, I don't know.
But, there's Jared.
Cybertruck!
Look at that.
I like the color.
Do you?
Good, because it's yours, we bought it.
You didn't buy it.
We didn't buy it.
Okay, I'm like, what?
Look at this, it's a party.
You got this for the occasion.
You're matching it.
Got my green hoodie on.
You and Jonathan both, let's get a picture.
Oh, look at these guys, so cute.
So, let's check it out.
Let's have you test it.
It's like a microwave.
There you go.
Okay.
It feels like super industrial.
The steering wheel, I don't know
if I'd ever get used to that.
Popular, everyone's coming to like check it out.
Oh, it is insane.
More than 50% of the cars that drive by us
take a picture or video and thumbs up.
Roll the window down.
The most genuine smiles you've ever seen.
That's great.
I've never seen anything like it.
That's awesome.
There's even a screen back here.
Wow, I didn't know that.
There is.
Wow.
Jared gets in and the first thing he does
is does the windshield wiper.
Look at this guy.
We got the bros back here measuring stuff.
The tape measure.
Six feet.
I like the white.
I like, it looks really clean.
It looks really clean.
If it's a Jared, I'm gonna lay back down, Jared.
Wait, I'm despaired.
I thought you said this was six feet.
It is.
How's Jared?
What?
He's fine.
5'11, okay?
I'm 5'11.
Close it back up.
He's going right now.
Good luck.
Goodbye, six foot Jared.
The lighting in here is actually good.
The lighting, oh yeah.
Oh, I missed my dog.
My dog's name is Tesla.
Wow, we really must love Teslas.
Hi, dog.
This is a big moment.
Zach is going to be driving it.
I tried like passing the steering wheel off.
Like I already missed it once
cause the steering wheel's just not there.
Yeah.
And then like, as soon as you touch the steering wheel,
like it shakes the whole car.
We did it.
We saw family, we saw friends,
and now we're gonna drive.
And while we were there,
some big storm clouds started rolling in.
It dropped to what felt like 10 degrees.
So this is the ominous part of the day.
It's snowy.
I do not like snow.
You're speeding right now.
It's 80.
We are about to enter snow territory.
I even see what looks like a ski resort over there.
Winter storm up ahead.
Check this out.
You can take it and see what's going on.
Look at that, that car is sneaking up on us.
Look at that car.
There it goes.
It's passing us.
And there it is right there.
It just passed us in real life.
Here's fake life.
The ground is just wet right now
because it's only 36 degrees.
It needs to get colder for the snow to stick.
We have activated windshield wiper mode.
The wiper.
The largest wiper you have ever seen in your life.
Oh, that's snowflakes.
I don't know if you can see it on camera.
Yep, there it is.
The headlights are garbage.
They don't light up the road very well.
And even when I turn on the brights,
the brights don't help out very much.
And there's no fog lights,
which I feel like is super strange to me
because I've had fog lights on my Tacoma and my Rivian.
The rear lights of the semi in front of me
are lighting up the road better
than my Cybertruck headlights.
I don't understand how the headlights are not very good.
I agree with Zach.
I can see it.
I can barely see the lines in the road.
And it's not because there's snow all over them.
And showing that the headlights are on,
like the green light is on.
Yeah.
The headlights are there.
They're definitely on.
The light bar is illuminating the snowflakes
in the same way that turning on your brights
illuminates the snowflakes.
So like no brights on,
no brights are on right now.
I turn on my brights, you see it flashing.
One of those things where the design looks amazing,
they wanted the design to look a certain way,
but the functionality and the safety side of things
doesn't really line up with what you're used to
in most vehicles.
No.
I think the part that's shining upward
is there's a little lip on this light bar
that's shining up at the snowflakes.
We're gonna do a test to see what it's like
at 10 miles an hour and you hit the brakes.
Anti-lock brakes worked pretty well,
actually, right there.
Yeah.
We still slid about 15.
I'm gonna see you do some donuts.
It's extra green.
And this light, wow.
It's like the Hulk.
And you look like the Hulk.
Pinterest.
Yeah?
Same with us.
Is this a Cybertruck?
That's a Cybertruck.
You haven't seen one yet, huh?
No, I haven't seen one.
Yeah, go for it.
I'm scared.
Is this a search for it?
No.
Is this a search for it?
In the snow, what does it look like on the tonneau cover?
Oh, there it goes.
That's great.
So you don't think the tires are good,
these tires are good for like snow?
No, those don't look that great for snow.
No.
I mean, they're not like illegal,
they're just dangerous.
They're just not snow tires.
Elon did pretty dang cool.
Oh, this is freaking cool.
So he threw the ball at the window.
He threw it at that one.
So go ahead and tap that five times, fast.
Oh my.
Oh my gosh.
Yeah, as soon as he's audio.
Yeah, and then hit the other one.
Oh my gosh.
It's so good.
Like some people would be embarrassed.
Like I could see big auto manufacturers being like,
that moment, I'm embarrassed.
He's like, I'm gonna make t-shirts.
I'm gonna make an Easter egg.
I love Elon, he's the best.
We are charging at 182 kilowatt hours.
This is the best charger we've seen.
It is 13 hours since you saw us in the dark.
I don't even know if you could see us.
It was that dark in California.
What an amazing day.
This is not my truck.
This is not Zach's truck.
It's another person's truck.
And this Zach has decided to rent it for a few weeks
to test it out versus Ford F-150 Lightning, that is Zach's,
and a Rivian that is also Zach's or not a wheelchair's.
Do some towing, do some fun things with it
and do what he does best.
I was super impressed.
Like it's something new, it's something unique.
It's something that I wasn't expecting,
but I mean, I love it.
It's super, super cool.
But at the same time, after having driven it,
I love my Rivian more.
I would say this isn't the best road trip car.
The range isn't super great.
And also you have to charge for a very long time.
It's fun to drive around town.
Short trips, no big problem, but long road trips,
I mean, maybe you don't buy a truck
for a long road trip anyway.
So I'm gonna do something interesting tonight.
I'll make a video on it.
I love to sleep in my Tesla Model S.
So I'm gonna see how much I love to sleep
in the Tesla Cybertruck.
This is a bad idea.
Yep, I'm doing it.
See ya.
684 miles, 378 kilowatt hours.
Average energy is 552 watt hours per mile.
Oh my gosh.
Oh yeah, Zach just sold something on Shopify.
Thank you to whoever just bought a knife from Zach
or a jar of dirt.
Yep, jaregnife.com.
Cool.
