Good afternoon and welcome back to round 21 of this year's MotoGP World Championship.
Once again, starting from pole position will be factory, a brilliant start, Marco Becsechi.
It's lights out, we're racing in MotoGP here in the Grand Prix of Portugal.
Pedro Acosta on the KTM has made a lightning start, as he so often does,
going down into the first corner. Becsechi, though, toughs it out on the brakes,
just drops across the nose of the Spaniard.
Then Becsechi, as he did yesterday in the sprint lead.
Alex Marquez goes side by side, and it's tricky.
Downhill braking zone with Acosta, it's a lovely, lovely minute,
but it's not going to be a dream double victory for the Grazini racing rider,
because he's had to yield.
He has had to play second fiddle to the absolutely brilliant Becsechi.
What a performance here in Porto Mares.
Marco Becsechi wins the Grand Prix of Portugal in 2025.
He won it from start to finish.
The sixth different winner in the last six Grands Prix.
First time that has happened since 2020.
Margo, thought he was going to try and line up that move once again,
going through Turn 6, just trying to use that element of surprise on Becsechi.
Oh, Bez has made a mistake.
Bez has a buckle then, under this weight of pressure from Marc.
It has been another Misano masterclass from Marc.
Like Tata, we're racing in a potential title decider here in Motegi.
It's a great start from composition by Pekka Bagnaia,
who flies down towards the first corner, leading the field.
Here's Acosta, trying to get through on the inside of Bagnaia,
and the brakes into Turn 5.
No way through, he really did show a front wheel though there to the Italian.
Oh, what's going on with Bagnaia? Bagnaia's got smoke.
What's going on here?
There's smoke coming off the rear of Bagnaia's factory Ducati.
Second Grand Prix victory of the year.
Pekka Bagnaia wins the Japanese Grand Prix.
Aldeguerre goes on the inside, and Merini made that move beautifully,
going through the fast left-hander of Turn 12.
Aldeguerre now up into second place.
Here is Aldeguerre, taking the lead of this Grand Prix for the first time.
He's got the job done up at Turn 10.
This is why Gigi D'Alena and all of the senior Ducati management
wanted to get the prize, the signature of Aldeguerre.
The second youngest MotoGP winner in history, Fermin Aldeguerre.
Acosta, brilliant. He's got the inside line there,
using every single pony underneath him there.
He's got a big twitch on the front under-rear.
Both wheels sliding almost as he went through the Duhem corner.
Fernandes has got back through on Acosta.
Now, this is good news as far as Aprilia is concerned, isn't it?
Fernandes immediately finds a way back through on fellow Spaniard Acosta.
So coming through Stoner Corner now, a bit of a head shake there for Bez
just to show how hard he's pushing.
Surely now he's going to go straight on into the long lap penalty loop.
Here he comes. Ralf Fernandes then takes the lead.
We have another first-time winner in MotoGP,
and it is the phenomenal Ralf Fernandes in Phillip Island
who wins the Australian Grand Prix for Trackhauser Aprilia.
Alex Marquez, if he wants to go after Bekemenyair,
he needs to pass Acosta quickly.
And he has done. He has done.
He picks up Acosta and runs Acosta out through the paintwork
on the outside of Turn 4.
Alex Marquez goes on the inside of Bekemenyair.
Well, he was aggressive, wasn't he, on the first lap at Turn 4 on Acosta.
He's played the same move through on Alex.
Got into the title line there through five goes Bekemenyair,
but it's Alex Marquez that leads.
Alex Marquez has sprinkled some magic on the Malaysian Grand Prix in 2025.
He wins for the third time in a season which has seen him secure second place
in the championship behind Bruno Maak.
And now Marco Bezzecchi, well, has that victory,
his first since Silverstone.
Aprilia's most successful season then in the MotoGP World Championship.
Spring victories for them.
I'm very happy, super important to be back on the top of the podium.
And I enjoyed a lot.
A second Sunday win of the season for Marco Bezzecchi,
his fifth overall best with a blinding victory at Portimao.
