The Brucker Leonhardifahrt is held in honor of St. Leonhard, who is one of the most revered saints in the Alpine region. In 1743, during a cattle plague, the citizens vowed to have a blessing on St. Leonhard's Day every year.
Every year in autumn, the votive mass takes place in front of St. Leonhard's Church, followed by the blessing of all participants in the procession as the large procession continues its course through the town center. Magnificently dressed horses, festively decorated chests and motif floats and numerous carriages take part. Brass bands and marching bands provide the musical backdrop to the Leonhardifahrt.

The Leonhardifahrt or Leonhardiritt is a procession on horseback that is part of the tradition in Old Bavaria and Western Austria. It takes place in honor of St. Leonhard of Limoges (6th century) on his memorial day, November 6, or a neighboring weekend.
As the patron saint of farm animals, especially horses today, pilgrimages with animal blessings are held on St. Leonard's Day. The motive for the blessing of animals, especially horses, is the role they played as beasts of burden and workhorses for the rural population.
