BERGWIJN & BENZEMA score as Ittihad get rolling ｜ Al Ittihad 🇸🇦 - Sharjah 🇦🇪 ｜ Highlights ACL Elite

Saudi Arabia's Al Ittihad and Sharjah from the UAE go head-to-head in the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium on match day four of the AFC Champions League Elite in the West. The team from Saudi Arabia looking for back-to-back wins after beating Al-Shorta on match day three. Al-Shankiti with the cross. Bergvin with the header. Al Ittihad here in front of a home crowd. Bergvin with his second Champions League goal of the season. That's now five in nine appearances in all competitions from the player who joined from Ajax in September. 27th minutes. Al Ittihad piling on the pressure here in the first half. Absolutely dominating proceedings so far and nearly doubling their lead. Moussa Diaby with the ball back in sight to Husam Awa. That's it just wide but it's one-way traffic so far in this first period of play. Dumbia with the ball through to Moussa Diaby rounds the keeper. Outside netting. How has he missed there? Really should be two-nil. Wonderful ball to pick him out. Quick feet to round the keeper and can't find the target. 38th minute. Next wave of attack here from Al Ittihad. Kante with the ball inside. Benzema leaves it for Bergvin. Last-ditch defending from Majid Rashid allows Adil Al-Hassani in goal to then get a hand to it. Not sure why Benzema didn't go for that himself. Still looking for his first Champions League goal this season. Still Al Ittihad with their noses in front heading into the second half here. Very little from Sharjah so far. Now perhaps in the 52nd minute. Shot from distance. Saved once. Saved twice by Fredra Grankovic in goal. First denying Uzman Kamara from just outside the box and then on the rebound. Stops the shots from Guilherme Biro as well. What an opportunity for Sharjah to get themselves level. Might be in trouble here though in the 66th. Ball into the middle. Karim Benzema has his first Champions League goal. Fourth in all competitions. Off the mark on the continental stage now as well. Cracking ball to pick out Diaby over the top. With an unselfishly plays it back across to the former Real Madrid star. And now Al Ittihad are in cruise control. 88th minute. Chance here perhaps to peg one back. Adil Terabt can't find the target. Puts it wide. Rayman Ay lays it across to him. A lot of bodies in front. Tries to find that far corner. It's off target in the end. Into stoppage time now. Is there still time for another? Al Ghamdi in on goal. Has Roger Fernandes in the middle. Uses him. 3-0. And that will wrap things up. The late subs combine to cap off a brilliant team performance as Al Ittihad do make it back-to-back wins with an impressive display which now takes them up into sixth spot in the table while Sharjah drop to eighth.
