Well, how are we all doing out there? I
hope you're all spot on as always. Now,
it's that time of the year, isn't it?
It's Christmas is coming. We've just had
Bonfire Night. So, I've been shopping to
M&S and and got a Christmas dinner. Come
and have a look what I got. Now, I've
reviewed this probably 3 years on the
run. Um, and I thought I'd review it
again because it's a new year and let's
see what's different. So, it's an M&S
food meal for one roast turkey. Um, it
says it was new, but it they bring out
every year for Christmas, obviously.
British turkey with a golden Yorkshire
pudding, veg, and festive trimmings.
Um, 35 minutes in the oven, freezable,
serves one. Well, if you want it for
Christmas, you're going to have to
freeze it cuz it's used by the 11th. Um,
so we got a little traffic light system
for the serving suggestion. And there is
the serving suggestion. So, yeah, the
price now for the last two years it's
been six quid. Now they've put it up
this year by 50. So it's £6.50.
All right. So we'll just get stuck stuck
straight in and we'll have a look.
That's what you get. That's what you get
for your £6.50. You get stuffing, two
pigs in blankets, a little Yorkshire
pudding, three roast potatoes, peas,
carrots, um, and you get turkey in
there. Look. Um, and obviously, uh,
gravy. So we'll have a look at this. 455
grams with a GB sticker. We've got some
nutrition there in detail. If you want
to have a look at that and pause it, go
ahead. Got some spiel. I'll read it out.
Roast potatoes, slices of roast turkey
and gravy, carrots, peas, cooked
sausages wrapped in streaky bacon,
Yorkshire pudding, and pork stuffing.
So, it looks and appears to be exactly
the same as last year. So, the price is
different. It's gone up. So, you do it
in the oven. Needs cooking. Yeah, I
would recommend that. And it says it's
contains alcohol. So oven from chilled
is 35 minutes, exactly the same as last
year. There is a procedure that I will
try in a day or two. So there's the
ingredients. We've got allergens of
milk, wheat flour, uh egg in there.
Yeah, that's what you get. You get roast
potatoes 26%.
You get um turkey breast 17%
um turkey breast being 98%.
You get carrots 12%, peas 9%. Um, and
you get obviously you get streaky bacon
6%, pork 80%.
Yeah, that's what you get. So, you get
some spiel as well there if you want to
how however you are spending Christmas
this year. We are so glad you ch Yeah.
Yeah. Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas.
Yeah. Right. It should have me Father
Christmas set on, shouldn't I? Let's get
it in the old oven.
So, there is a procedure. Um, what I'll
do, I'll I'll I'll run you through it
sort of as we go. So, these go on here.
The roast potatoes. There they are.
Yeah, it's what you get.
There's your roast potatoes. So, they go
on there. Now,
that is hot. That's why I've got it
raised up. Go in the oven for 15
minutes.
So, the spuds had 15 minutes. What you
to do now, you're to put the Yorkshire
pudding to one side. You to put the
stuffing pigs in blankets
on the plate. And then you to
pierce the film lid several times over
the turkey and the peas and carrots.
And then that goes on. And it all goes
in now for 15 minutes.
So with five minutes to go, you to put
the Yorkshire pudding on. And
you don't have to, but I'm just warming
my plate up.
We got 5 minutes left.
It's done. So let's get it out. The seal
peel test. Let's have a look. Oh yeah,
the seal peel test passed with flying
colors. So, I'm going to plate it up
now. So, there's your roast potatoes. I
like them a bit more done than that. I
suppose you could always take them out
if you want and do them longer or put
them in from the beginning longer.
There's your little stuffing ball. That
is very little as well, isn't it? Two
little, very little pigs in blankets
with your Yorkshire pudding. Yeah, it's
very sorrowful, isn't it? It really is.
I do feel for people at Christmas.
I'm going to need something to get them
out like um I'll get it now.
So, yeah, I'm not going to touch that
cuz it's red hot. I've got this here.
I'll get I'll get it out. I'll I hope
you can see okay over there. I think you
can. I'll try and get out the best I
can. We've got a few escapees here.
You won't get far.
You won't get far.
Right. I will get them all out. Trust
me. And I'm just going to pour
the gravy on. There you go. Got the peas
on. Very bitty. Very, very bitty. Put
that to one side.
And uh I'll show you.
So there we are. That's what you get for
£6.50.
Yeah. Tell me what you think in the
comments, please.
So, there's your there's your turkey.
So, you get one bit there, and this
bit's all falling apart.
These plates are quite big.
Yeah.
Yeah. Right. So, let's um let's try it.
I feel like I should have me Christmas
hat on now.
Yeah. But we're not putting our
decorations up. It's too early. But
these are in our supermarket, so we have
to review them. And I do ask you, I do
thank you for watching as well. I really
do. And I thought I'd sit at the table
and eat it rather than standing up.
Right. I'm going to get I'm going to get
I'm going to get straight into the to
the turkey first to see what that's
like.
These plates are quite big, so it makes
it it look like it's spread out.
That gravy is lovely.
The turkey is
It's quite,
how can I say? Not rubbery, but it's
it's Yeah, it's
I did it in the oven. I'm going to try
it again.
M.
That was a bit better.
It It's just as if it's got like a
rubbery sort of a a texture to it, but
that second bit was a bit better.
I'm going to try a pigging blanket with
a bit of sausage. It's very very small,
aren't they? I mean, yeah. I mean, you
know, they're just on there just just
like a little as an extra, aren't they?
I don't know if my microphone's picking
far too much up. I What I'll do I'll do
a test and I'll just put it I'll put it
over there and we'll see what it's like
now.
So, I'm going to try a roast potato. The
roast potatoes been had 40 minutes, but
they are very, very pale.
I like them very very crisp.
I'll bring it back.
That was hot. That roast potato was red
hot. Goodness me. Mind you, me plate is
is hot as well. The gravy is lovely. It
is. I'm going to try a bit of stuffing
now. Few carrots, few peas, and a bit of
turkey. It's pretty much all them.
Yorkshire pudding's gone a bit soggy.
M. It's um It is quite nice. You know,
the turkey is not turkeyy's not the
best. Let's try this Yorkshire pudding.
It's gone all soft and now limp. I like
them a bit crisp on the on the upper
edges like you know not being not fussy
but
you know 50 odd years old so I do know I
do know what I like with a roast dinner.
We're we're all the same. You can you
you suppose you could put it in the air
fryer if you want that Yorkshire pudding
instead of putting in the oven. Stick it
in there for 3 minutes. It'll get it
really crispy.
It's a Yorkshire pudding.
Yeah, I'm going to try a bit more of
this. I'm going to try the other side of
the turkey. See what this is like.
Yeah, it's just similar similar really.
It's just like it's quite I don't want
to say rubbery,
but it's quite similar to rubbery.
I'll be honest. I have to be honest. It
is. It is. It,
you know, um it's all right, though.
It's not, you know, it's definitely
edible, that's for sure. I mean, it's
turkey. It's, you know,
yeah, it's
it's it's it's lackluster. Let's be
honest. It really is. It's I mean, it
it's luxury. M&S. I class it as luxury.
You might not, but I do.
It's not I enjoyed the one last year and
the year before and the year before.
This one, I did it exactly the same in
the oven. exactly the same. It's just
It's just not doing it for me. It's not
It's not doing it for me now. I
I don't know. I don't know why. It's
just not It's just not doing it for me.
The gravy is tasty.
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you can reflect on
it as, you know, a meal for one at
Christmas, you know, being on your own
at Christmas.
For me looking at it, uh, you know, I I
do feel for people who are on their own
at Christmas, of course, but
having done these videos, I've had loads
of comments from people, well, who are
on their own, and they say they actually
like being on their own, and I get that
as well. I really do, you know, but
there are there are people out there who
are on their own, and,
you know, I do feel sorry for them. I
can't help it. I'd feel sorry for people
who are on their own. It's not as good
as I was expecting. Thought it might
have been a lot tastier.
That's probably I did it as per
instruction. If you want to do it
differently, cook it yourself
differently, pimp it up, then you know
what to do.
It is obviously edible.
So, marks out 10. For this one, I'm
going to give it a I'm going to give it
a six and a half. Six and a half.
So, take care out there. All the best.
Keep your recommendations coming in and
I'll get back to you on the next one.
