I Spent a Day in A Minecraft Movie

I got trapped inside the Minecraft movie. Now we've got four challenges to do to impress Garrett before we can escape. Starting first, that it's impossible to subscribe before your brain finishes reading the sentence. So give that a shot, and we'll start the next challenge, surviving the night with Steve. Let's do first night survival observer. Start the game for everyone? Oh yeah. Okay, so I choose my character. I can be Steve or just Steve. There's Steve, Villager, Henry, Piglin, Garrett, Natalie, Dawn, and Steve. Wait, are we going to have two observer? Yeah, we got two Steves. Whoa, independently fires tater tots at mobs. Hold on a second. It's a tower defense game? Observer off, shoot them down. This is so cool. Even just the little branches on the trees are neat. Ow, okay, there's more coming in. The zombies are like balding. Hey, look, man, it happens to the best of us. And if not the best of us, then it happens to the rest of us. I'm out of arrows. Oops, I'm going in with a sword. Whoa, okay, that's a strong choice for a creeper to come up. Well, the creepers have like the grass texture that they do from the movie. Okay, more enemies spawn each night. Got it, well, that was easy. So I don't even have enough iron yet. Get more arrows. Oh, wait, no, that's a spear, okay. Oh, so we're looting during the day and then we're back tonight already. Look at these new flowers and stuff. This is crazy. Wait, there's like beacons off in the distance too. What in the world? Oh, wow, that's a lot of iron. Some potatoes, we're going to use that for the potato launcher. I got to go check out the turret. Observer's got a turret. I guess you're not really observer. You're just a stever. Ranged weapon with the spear. Whoa, the spear does some damage. I like the health bars. These are a lot better than a lot of the health mods that I see for Minecraft. So our turret's coming in. Look at that. It's shooting up potatoes. That's awesome. Wow, my spear did not last very long. You got to eat golden apples to regenerate. Oh, and the turret died too. Wow, things go through fast over here. You can put up decoys, traps. That's really clever. Having arrows be the spikes for a trap. I've seen so many spike mods and never that. Awesome. All right, we got a scatterer and we got a trap. This is neat. I wonder why they split their efforts between making this and making the live event. Because both are free. I went and looted stuff and I abandoned our base. So I hope we're fine. Stay safe, base. All right, I'm back. I don't see anything so far. Oh, there's a zombie. Man, fighting on bedrock is so much easier without the combat update. I can get some buck jackets. Absolutely. I can get myself a saxophone and a shield. And is that a TNT thing? Explosive, nice. A little explosive right there. Never hurt anybody. Oh, maybe it did. Cause it just explodes immediately. All right, trap them. Yeah, look at that. It just skewers them. That's a little barbaric. Woo-hoo! Nice survive. This is like you tick warped, observer. We're going, we're flying by the years. If you don't slow down, we're going to lose it all. All right, I want to go check out this overworld portal over here. Does it actually let me into this? I don't think so. I can't really parkour up to it. I don't think I can place blocks. I cannot. All right, well, we probably should get back to our base. Yeah, play us off, observer. Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da. Be cool if it switched up the songs. I'd love it if it played some of the Minecraft songs. So what's the goal? Just survive as long as we can. Whoa. Okay, we lost a heart. Okay, so, ow. Oh wow, how'd I die? Okay, I like got lit on fire. Whoa, that is a charge creeper. Oh my gosh. Oh, ow. This got a lot harder on night four. So having the fourth night should really be the thing. Okay, maybe I'll eat the golden apple before I go in. I got a lot of golden apples. Yeesh. All right, we reached night four. Well, we got dawn. Is there any other achievements in that we should be doing? So five, eight nights, finish in under four minutes. Oh, we got to play a elytra chase. Well, should we try to get Natalie? All right, we're back in. This time I'm teamed up with Dawnserver. Observe her, if you will. All right, let's do a little bit of this scatterer right here. Oh wow, they're going after you, observer. I got this. Don't worry. Ow. All right, what are the odds that we see a chicken jockey, observer? Kind of need to know where the mobs are. All right, night survive. Well done. Man, crafting like this is kind of annoying though. Wait, I didn't read this about the decoy. It distracts nearby mobs and then they explode. That looks ridiculous. It's just a straw jack black. Oh, okay. It explodes even if the mobs aren't going after it. Good to know. Pitiful use of our resources. Hello, where are you? There we go. Hello, gents. I don't even know where they spawn from. I guess they come from, oh, I just saw them rise from the ground. That answers that. I don't want to escape too much from our base, but I guess it is just us, right? It's whether or not we survive. Observer's doing a grocery run. All right, oh, we're onto charged creepers now and vindicators. Yeesh. Ah, I was crafting and then I got charged creepered. I'm going to know so much about this movie before I see it. All right, now I should be doing my crafting. Battle axe, shield please. I wonder if they're going to say the word vanilla in the movie. I got my battle axe now though. Oh, I look awesome. How the fire arrows are so painful. I got to craft more arrows. Oh, we can launch them in the sky with a battle axe. That's so cool. Wow, that was quick. There we go. Yeah, I'll take a chain. Thank you. All right, buck jackets, baby. Here we go. The buck jackets being able to stun them is awesome. Thonk. Oh yeah, there you go. This is exactly why they hired me in this movie. All right, a couple of scatterers. I like using the cactus to make the scatterer. There's not a lot of recipes that actually use the cactus for its thorns. That's fun. I wonder if anything from the movie will ever make its way into the base game. Yeah, I guess why else would you do buck jackets if not to like add it? You know what's funny is that if they made the Minecraft movie, you know, like 10 years ago, the memes that they would have included would be severely different. Like here we get yearn for the mines as a child, but in the past, it definitely would have been a creeper walking up and saying that's a very nice house you have there. It'd be a shame if something were to happen to it. There is a pillager part in the movie. I know that they like end up in the chicken jockey scene. They're like in a fight cage. All right, what if I explode the creeper? The explosive does a lot of damage. A couple more there never hurt. Excuse me, skeleton. So long, skeleton. Yeah, I think we'll just place down a bunch of AOE stuff. I'll just place down the trap. I'm amazed we've seen no piglins. Maybe that's a different part. This looks ridiculous. All right, buck jacket, bam. Still no chicken jockey, but hey, the night is young. I guess between this and Jumanji, Jack Black has a knack for getting sucked into video games. All right, we're getting close. What if I walk over the trap and you just see like gore of Jack Black? Just ow. All right, night seven. Yeah, the fire bow is no joke. That really does a lot of the damage scaling. It's just the fact that there's one guy with a super bow. Hey, chicken jockey. You don't know this yet, bud, but you are very famous. Wearing them down. You really got to keep up with the golden apples, but you can also hit from so far away. It's kind of give and take. Watch out. Oh my gosh. Did you see how big the explosion it's from? That skeleton wasn't even nearby. It was in a different zip code. Oh, this is the last night we need to survive. Battle Axe. Oh yeah, shooting them into the moon. Bam. That's the Swedish space program. Yay. Well, that was it, right? To get Natalie? Well, I can exit the game and hold the leaf, but I don't know if we should just die. Probably die, right? They should do this in the middle of the movie. Just have Jack Black in the middle. Just jump off of a building and he's not in the rest of the movie. Well, I guess that cheapens the budget a little bit. Hey, Natalie. What are the special things that we can unlock? Got all the rewards yet? You might need a high score. Okay, whatever. I don't need to listen to you. Mansion stealth or a Lytra chase. Just go down the order. Best time, three minutes. Luckily that sounds short. All right. I will play as Steve times two. Avoid obstacles and escape to the end. You got it. Let's get it, Observer Natalie. Oh wow, they've got the gas. That's fun. Are you supposed to go that way? Whoa, I guess Observer found a shortcut. Okay. Oh, I'm getting pretty low here, Observer. Okay. I got too low. So you can't get too low. Otherwise you're going to lose your chance. Wow, the gas have really hyper-realistic textures on their face. That looks ridiculous. All right, let me fly through here. I guess we got to get the rockets. Oh, that boosts us. Got it. I don't know what's the point in dropping down to get a rocket. That feels kind of counterintuitive. This is awesome. I would love a mine shaft generated like this with big things of TNT around. Oh, I got to thread the needle between these two gas. Maybe not. Oh no, I'm starting to get low. No, no, no, no, no. No. Oh, okay. It saved my progress. Cool. Okay, understood. I got the rocket and it was too much. I couldn't handle it with my tiny, fragile, Jack Black body. Oh, can I, can I boost up into this? Please, please. No. All right. Oh no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Oh, new checkpoint. Hey, well done, Observer. I shall catch up. Hopefully. Oh, there's like Venus fly traps and stuff. What in the world is this? All right, hold on. That sounds fun. I might stand out like a sore thumb though. Okay, retrieve the earth crystal without being seen. You got that? Okay, you're a little bit more seen than I am. That's fine. I think we can move our way in. Oh look, it makes like sound particles off of you. Oh, you're not going this way? Well, the door did open when I came in. All right, we're sneaking in. The faster you are, the faster the enemies detect you. Wow, this is a proper stealth game. No! Why would I want to grab a saxophone in a stealth game? Instantly breaks. Okay, well observer fled the other way. I guess I'll go that way too. I'll peruse. Oh, I reached an invisible wall. Oh wait, there's vines. Maybe I can climb up. Ooh, a checkpoint. Wow, I would love for stealth mechanics like this in Minecraft. I guess the best thing you have is like the inverse. Oh, you can interact with furniture to hide in it. Look at that. That's cool. Yeah, the closest thing we had was the creaking map that you made, observer. Getting a little dicey here. I'm hiding in a chest. I love the wallpaper. Whoa, I enderman, enderman! The enderman is also looking out for you. Okay, let me go and peruse around here. I'm sure you did not see anyone who looked like a piglin wearing a mushroom cap, guys. That is completely unfounded, baseless accusations. Oh, okay, maybe you have a point. I really like how the piglins look here. Okay, well I got to hide from this enderman. Oh man, that is terrifying. All right, who spotted me? Who spot, ooh, ooh, what? Stop, ah! Okay, this is actually a lot harder than I thought it would be. We're trying to get the earth crystal. Whoa, okay, sorry, he saw nothing. Oh, I found a statue. Oh, I can hide behind the statue, what? Wow, he really comes up and inspects the statue, doesn't he? Just got to make sure everyone loves the boss. All right, buddy, I'm sneaking in. Where in the world would they keep an earth crystal? Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. All right, I got to let him go that way and escape this way. All right, minus 15 seconds. Got to go, got to go, got to go. Stronger enemies are harder to sneak past. Fantastic. Oh no, a vindicator. Um, it'd be really cool if I knew which way to go. Oh, enderman, hello. Why are the enderman working with the pillagers? Hey, MatPat, come out of retirement, answer this one. I see their chicken statue. That's a prized possession. Don't mind me. This is what it's like being at Chuck E. Cheese after 3 a.m. Maybe I'm going the wrong way. I think I'm going backwards. Oh, I see a totem. It gives me a heart. What, this is very confusing. Do we go back down? Wait, I see a checkpoint down there. Dang it. So what's the characters that we can unlock here? Fetch crystal in under three minutes. Fetch crystal in under 10. All right, speed run. You start climbing the vine sideways, you actually get a little bit less. Oh, that's going to be a frame perfect input on the time. Oh shoot. I fell there. That's going to be embarrassing for GDQ. It's fine. We got lost in the sauce. So you drop straight down from this vindicator part. Okay. Oh, that enderman had no idea. That world famous superstar, Jack Black, is right in this pot. Actually, I'm a piglin right now. Oh my gosh. Yeah. Woohoo. Now what do we do here? I'm so curious. Wait, the earth crystal is the orb? Oh, is there a hidden painting? What? Okay, this is cool. If they walk through a painting in the movie, that's really neat. Oh, time save. Oh, there's a lot of not much right there. Okay, I'm keep moving through. Wait, just like that, we did it? Woohoo. Oh my gosh. We got the villager. All done. Woohoo. Oh yeah. Look at how impressed everyone is. This is exactly what it's like when I show up to anything. Oh, it's such a pleasure.
