What's up guys, we're out here at Apex Racing Center in Paris, California.
We're riding Ovales.
I'm a huge fan of these bikes.
These are all Ovale 190s, but they make a 110, 160, 190.
This isn't a sales pitch on Ovales, so don't click for it, it's a sales pitch on minibikes.
I love riding any minibike.
I think it translates very well for me on the racetrack when I'm riding a bigger bike,
but I also think that it's great for anybody that's learning to ride motorcycles in general.
It's great for guys like Brett who are getting new into street bikes and trying to do more
track days, so he's riding a minibike to kind of get better on a big bike.
It's good for guys like Matty who are starting to race and they want to just get better at
their overall racing technique, I think, on these things.
So it's really great all-around bike for everybody, even kids.
They're perfect for kids.
I got the Moto America Mini Cup now where there's the 110, 160, and 190 class.
There's kids from 6 years old to 14 years old riding these things, so it's great for
the future of the sport.
It's great for guys getting into bikes and racers trying to get better.
So today we're going to have a little bit of fun.
We're going to show just riding around, show what these things can do, and I'm also going
to talk a lot about braking technique.
I have a lot of people that ask me about how I brake, but it's always kind of hard to just
talk about it.
It's a lot easier if I can show it, so Nick came out and we're going to get some super
slow-mo shots of me using the front brake, how I use it, you know, trail braking going
into the corners, the way that I'm getting onto the brakes, you know, coming off the
straightaway, all that good stuff.
So we'll go have some fun right now riding, and then later on in the video we're going
to get a little bit into braking techniques.
Make sure you keep watching the video because today I'm going to give you the technique
to be a professional paid superbike racer.
You have to watch to the last 30 seconds and then I'm not actually going to tell you because
I don't know how.
You see this lifestyle I'm living?
You want this lifestyle?
All right, guys, that's a wrap here at Apex.
Since I know you guys always like to give me ---- about, you know, saying, oh, they
give you free bikes so you got to say nice stuff about them, I'm going to throw it over
to Matty.
He's going to tell you why he likes riding minibikes, and yeah, maybe you'll believe
him over me.
So my bike was not free.
It was actually very expensive.
One thing I love about minibikes and when I first got on them was being able to find
the limit.
You know what I mean?
Because they're so small, you're on the edge of the tire, you're on the edge of the suspension
and you're able to really push the bikes to the limits that you're not used to, at least
big bikes I should say.
You know what I mean?
Being a, say, B group, A group rider, fast guy, not necessarily into racing yet, you're
never going to find the limits of the bikes, but with these, you find them a lot easier
than you would think.
On top of that, they're just fun as ----.
You know what I mean?
You're close to the ground.
You're there.
You can throw them around, and they're actually, the harder you ride them, the easier they
are to ride, which sounds kind of crazy, but it's kind of how it is, but I will say I actually
got mine because of Josh, and it's the best investment I ever had, so a Volley 190, get
one.
