We were attacked. >> By whom? A terror? >> By the name of Robin Hood? Robin Hood. The new TV series stars Shawn Bean as the sheriff of Nottingham and Connie Nielsen as the formidable historical figure Ellaner of Aquitane. I've known and watched Shawn since he starred in the series Sharp many years ago. Then came Lord of Rings, Game of Thrones, and many others. So, I noted that about him. >> This is my question first to you, Sean, since I followed you since the first Sharp. >> My gosh. >> It used to be on PBS, didn't it? Sharps all the >> Oh, very popular with us. Very popular. You You are one of us as far as we're concerned. >> Yeah. >> So many people have played the sheriff. What did you not want to do to be sure that you didn't just repeat what other people have done before? >> He often comes across as just just just simply evil. Uh and uh I mean yeah and greedy and I mean but then you know I say that but you look at Alan Rickman who was fantastic you know thieves and and he played upon that. In this we have 10 hours to explore all the characters and I I felt that that was fantastic for the sheriff of Nottingham because you could see that he had reason to do what he did. He has a huge amount of responsibility and he is a very firm believer in in the rule of law. >> You won't mind my saying filling the shoes of Katherine Heppern. You know Ellanar Aquitane. What did you not want to do that we might have assumed we thought we knew about Elellanar? you know, I never I never even thought of it that way. Uh I just really as always like when I have an historical character I just dive into the research and it's one of my the biggest pleasures of my life is to do this research and I just was like trying to really get into what is her experience as someone who has been a duchess since she was 13 uh and who has been a woman of power and who has had to decide uh life or death situations for people literally condemning people to death. the only person queen to ever go on a uh crusade. Uh you know, someone who's been both queen of France and England and you just go like what type of person is that? How does she handle power and how does she stay close to the values that that really fuel her and that she really had these values that I admire. >> Thank you both very much.
