I was craving this place so bad.
There was only one thing I wanted to eat tonight.
This is one of my favorite Korean spots.
It's so freaking good.
I'm excited.
This is extraordinarily inappropriate.
Oh, Michael, you got to sit next to JD.
JD's been thinking about you this whole time.
They made a spicy beef stew.
Like, dooswin.
Oh, what's going on?
You don't have it?
We can still get the fried fish and the bulgogi
and get this, I guess.
Is that what we get at the Super Bowl?
Oh, we get, yeah.
Definitely get the sole.
And this, this kind is cool.
Clams and rice is cool.
Stir-fried clams or the pork or the octopus.
Remember we had that seed oil in the soup?
That can be enough.
Or you can get the stir-fried pork
or the stir-fried octopus or this clam thing.
Let me get the neck.
The kids will eat that, too.
How was your basketball treat?
Treat poured the water on his head after you were done.
You don't remember getting a spicy beef soup
the first time we came here sitting downstairs?
It was awesome.
The other stuff is awesome, too, but that was awesome.
Come on.
This is like fried sweet potato.
I love it.
The panche on here is sick.
That's like a fried bean curd, dehydrated bean curd.
Thank you, Jamie.
You love it.
So much.
So many things.
Do you dig it?
Wait, which one's the most exciting to you?
Potato.
Mm.
The clam.
Tofu.
Yeah, with like a chili on top.
Chard leek.
Is this good?
This isn't even what we ordered.
This is just the gifts of Korean cuisine.
OK, that's a little decent.
Come on, Emmy.
I'm just joking around.
Cabbage with soybean, fermented soybean.
There's so many layers.
The cabbage is tight together.
I like that.
Unique flavor.
Totally want some fish cake.
You wish they had wood?
Wood chopstick?
We all do.
This is a new one.
We didn't have this one last time.
There's a little spam in there, cauliflower.
Did you pick up the bowl?
Did you just feel the bowl?
I love the weight.
The weight is so nice on that.
This kind of thing might work.
I can get 12 of these.
They're probably very expensive, but they're not going to break.
If I get 12, they're going to last.
You ate all the seaweed.
You, girl.
You ate all the seaweed.
You like that one?
Really?
We've had this one every time.
This one's cool.
The cabbage just feels cool in your mouth.
I like those fermented soybean, seaweed, and cucumber.
I don't think it's amazing, but I just
like how the cabbage is very tight together.
The lamb's crushing.
You like the cabbage thing?
You want to try this thing?
Noodle mayonnaise salad.
You'll like that.
Bada bing.
We're coming.
Yes.
Now we can finally start eating.
We've been eating the whole time.
Oh, that was just practice.
I love the fried fish.
Oh, that's good.
That's good.
Shoot.
Michael's going in.
He's like, I got to try this, bro.
All you guys are saying, mm.
I'm hungry.
JD, you happy?
You're clapping over there.
Beef and tofu.
Spicy beef tofu.
The perfect bite.
This place is so good.
I love it.
That pork neck tastes exactly like your beef.
Not exactly, but similar.
Did you want to yo-me?
You can yo-me.
What do you mean yo-me?
Yo-me means to cheers.
It's just cheers in Vietnamese.
Yeah, the soup is good.
I've been thinking about this place for a long time.
Even the fish is awesome.
Last time this fish was awesome, and it's still awesome.
Cheersing down there.
JD makes sandwiches.
Yummy.
Liam, good reach, dude.
We'll hand it to you, but I'm still impressed
with your reach on the chopstick.
We love it so much.
Just good ideas.
I'm so happy we have Michael, too,
so we can get more.
The more the merrier, as long as we're cool people.
The more the fish we have.
We always have to get this for the kids,
and we always want to get one fried fish,
so then we can only get one other thing.
Bogo, this is sweet beef.
This one's good, too.
The kids usually crush this, but now they like the neck, too.
You like the bottom?
No.
OK, there's more rice there, you guys.
Just don't reach over, pass your bowl to Mom,
and ask, hey, Mom, can you help me get me some rice?
I don't like the bottom either.
But in the soup, it's OK.
If you let it sit in the soup, it's better.
I don't like it just straight.
You know, the fish, you can eat all the thing here.
Very crispy.
I like all three.
They're all good.
Every time we come here, I really, really, really like them.
This is my favorite Korean.
That fish is awesome.
Last time we had cod, it was bad.
I thought it was just in the freezer for three years,
but I think it's salted or something,
and the texture changes too hard.
It's not good.
But this salted thing is awesome.
And then they're famous for raw crab.
Have you ever tried that?
Marinated raw crab.
That's a classic Korean dish.
What's wrong with raw crab?
Maybe there's some health danger if you don't properly
cool it and use fresh stuff.
But it's a very, very popular dish.
We like it.
What's your favorite?
The neck?
The neck.
Yeah, the neck is very good.
The neck is nearly top tier, I would say.
Quite tasty.
Beef bulgogi is quite tasty.
The soup is quite tasty.
The pork neck is quite tasty.
This dish is quite tasty.
Beef is still my favorite, though.
There's rice cakes in there.
Good, I can feel you getting stronger.
Your muscles will be bigger tomorrow.
Oh, I'm just so proud of little Tree Tree
is becoming a little beast.
I'm so happy.
Oh, I love my little beast, Tree.
I've never heard you say that.
Well, you're getting stronger.
You never heard me say it, because you weren't a beast
before.
You're getting there.
Dad said he probably has six-pack abs,
but I can't see him because of all the fat.
Did I say that?
Yeah.
I asked you, why don't you get some six-pack abs?
Oh, I probably just said that.
And then you said, I probably already
have some, but they're hidden under my fat.
That makes sense.
I probably definitely said that.
Belly or a six-pack?
Six-pack.
Yeah, you can probably get a six-pack, yes.
Yeah, you just got to work on it.
I have so many cakes for you guys.
Yeah, you guys are loaded up with dessert at home.
We're not going to grape us.
I thought we were going to go on a date,
so I had a lot of snacks for you guys.
Ready to go.
Maybe next week we go to the beach, though.
We'll go Monday morning.
We'll come back Wednesday afternoon.
Awful.
Thanks, Dad.
You're welcome, Liam.
Thank you for saying thank you.
How many cakes did you get?
A lot.
Two are the Korean bread that you like, the ball.
I have four sweets.
One is a donut.
Two are fruit pies, peach and blueberry.
And the third is a green tea donut.
So I covered all my grounds.
I know what everybody liked.
In the movie Tron, and I was like, all right,
let's get this fish and this rice.
I'm going to drink another beer then.
So then I was going to scream, libations for everyone.
I didn't tell you that he made me dance in the middle
of the street, did I?
He danced.
He did.
Emily, tell them about Lone Noah.
You want another one or no?
Emily, hi, Lone.
Yeah, the fish is like salted.
It's like either salted a little bit,
or it's like dipped in salt water for 20 minutes
before they fry it or something.
It's so good.
Yeah, I love it.
We never sat up here.
We sat downstairs outside the first time.
And then they have a second location very close by
that they just took over.
So we sat there one time, which is better vibes on the inside.
And it's just cozier.
So I would sit inside over there and outside over here
if we had the choice.
And even all the little banchan in the beginning
is so good too.
Yeah, all these little things in the beginning, it's awesome.
It's almost like CKSK, where they're like,
here's some gifts for you.
Today, Ryan was in the studio.
And we were talking about my pickles.
And he's like, you all got the pickle.
Let me try the pickle.
So I pulled out the kohlrabi pickle.
I wasn't ready for this.
I don't have that much stuff.
And he's like, damn, he doesn't like spicy food.
He puts it in his mouth, and he bites it, spits it out,
drinks water because he's dying.
He's like, I don't like the spice.
I don't care about the spice.
I just care about the taste.
He said the kohlrabi pickle was so good.
I brought up the candied chili.
And he tasted the sugar.
And he goes, eh.
And I'm like, OK.
And he's like, you just ate the sugar.
You gotta eat the chili.
And then he ate the chiller.
He took one bite, like, I don't know, spit it out.
And then he goes, it doesn't tell me anything.
I'm like, what?
What?
He liked the chili jam.
But it wasn't as good as the other kohlrabi pickle.
And the other thing, the vinegar he tried,
he was just like, it doesn't tell me anything.
No.
I'm like, what is going on?
He's great.
I just kind of want you to be a server that night,
because I know you're going to give us good service.
Ooh, that's a big piece.
You can cheers, honey.
Cheers, baby.
When we cheers three, look like Mickey Mouse?
It does look like Mickey Mouse.
Do you know what Mickey Mouse sounds like, Jadie?
You don't know Mickey?
How about Minnie Mouse?
Do you know what Minnie Mouse sounds like?
How about Donald Duck?
You know what Donald Duck sounds like?
I don't know what Donald Duck sounds like.
How about romantic?
It's a wonderful date.
Are you having a good time?
I don't know.
I don't want to choke on bones, fish bones.
I don't think I should be choking on faux schmintz.
Cheers.
Do they grow on your belly?
Not bad, right?
Pretty good.
You're just always so worried about me,
like, oh, pillar of the family.
And then you're giving me something to choke on.
What if I die?
Getting hot in here now.
I think I remember.
We were children, by the way.
We were children when this happened.
Did I just say penis over and over again?
I was trying to make her smile, too, a little bit.
Yes, and she was a child, too.
So she was just a little girl, and this boy's whispering
that word in her ear.
Yeah.
This place is usually booked out.
That's why I was like, we've got to get a table.
You didn't even try this cabbage.
One of you guys should try this.
It's an interesting thing.
Texturally, it's interesting.
All those, like, pressed layers, they're
kind of like the way you'll pop through that thing.
If it was seasoned, if you had the thing soaking in a liquid
so when you burst it, it had a nice flavor,
and then a topping, that would be cool.
Like, I don't think that's amazing,
but I think texturally, it's interesting,
and it could be something cool.
Am I dinged in?
A million.
Sick.
A million, $40.
Yeah, I'm taking it.
Pizza last night was $1.6, and this was a million,
and this was sick.
Loved it.
Pizza last night, pizza hot, maybe it was $1.2, $1.4,
but it was over a million.
I think it was $1.4.
And this is awesome, right?
Kick-ass.
And we had beer, too.
Everything's about $200, $250.
No cheese, though.
Yesterday, we had so much cheese.
All right, ready, Pey?
Go down?
Let's go down.
Oh, a copper fan.
You like that thing?
I like all these bowls.
I like the bowls.
I like how heavy they are.
I like this wine just sitting here.
Come on.
Seal on.
Tree, do you want to give a World Famous Toilet review?
It's not good, I'll say that.
OK, you have a number?
Three.
Three, that means it's really bad.
That's Tree's lowest score ever.
The roof is on a slant.
It's not very nice.
It's dirty and it's hot.
The walls were supposed to be white,
but the bottom was yellow.
And it stinks in there.
Oh, OK, so that is not a good one.
Avoid the bathroom, if possible.
So not a place you're comfortable doing a number two.
OK, so be aware of that.
The other location, which is very close by,
has a nice bathroom.
Yes.
Bad news.
This is Tree's lowest score ever for his World Famous Toilet
reviews.
How about your favorite dish of the night?
You can just hold it.
I'm going to go around quick.
I don't like it when your hands are like that.
It's all right.
Just get in.
I like the soup.
The beef and tofu was top tier.
And the fish, dude, those were the two bangers.
But everything was good.
And I love accoutrements.
Yes, the banchan.
Eight, five.
Nice.
That's a high score.
That's a very high score from Michael Kroster.
That's a very high score.
JD, favorite dish of the night?
The fried potato?
Yeah.
The one in the beginning, the yellow one?
Favorite dish of the night?
The grilled one or the soup?
The grilled one's pork.
Pork neck.
Yeah, pork.
That was sick.
How about points?
I earned seven.
Nice.
Seven?
You loved it?
You loved the pork and you give it a seven?
OK, fine.
Favorite dish of the night?
Pork neck, 10 out of 10.
Favorite dish of the night?
Fish, the tofu soup with beef, and the pork neck.
Yeah, point.
Favorite dish of the night?
My wife is always right.
Fish, beef stew, grilled pork neck, all amazing.
I love this spot so much.
Nine out of 10.
I love it.
I always want to eat here all the time.
The other location is probably nicer.
But there is something about this one
that it's kind of like, it feels more Korean, kind of.
You want the more authentic, come here.
If you want to be more comfortable,
go to the other one.
But the food's great.
I love this place so much.
I do want to eat here very often.
And tonight, it was perfect, super satisfied me.
