34th Day of Shutdown As Thanksgiving Approaches
Rebecca Contreras, CEO of AvantGarde LLC, and former aide to President George W. Bush, discussed with Steve Lance, NTD Washington, D.C. bureau chief, and host of Capitol Report, some of the real life effects on people and communities she has witnessed during the government shutdown. She also discussed how she created a zero-interest bridge loan program to help her employees stay afloat, how much time she has before she will have to reduce employees' work hours or lay off staff to keep her business operating. Contreras also discussed how the shutdown has affected the millions of federal contract workers and the kinds of meaningful relief that is available to small business owners once the shutdown ends.
