THIS MALL IS ODD, but it somehow thrives! Laurel Mall 1970s style “flea market” in Hazleton, PA
Today’s urban exploration journey brings us to the somehow thriving Laurel Mall. The anchors are Boscov, Dunham’s and Planet fitness/Hobby Lobby (former Kmart) and a junior anchor TJ Maxx. This mall was not nearly as dead as I thought it would be. in fact it was kind of bustling but it was not that pretty. The overall design of the mall was nice but the decor clashed such as tables, claw machines and games everywhere. It was a lot of flea market-esque stores. The Boscovs was very very nice with its neon signs and candy counter. I did not know what to think of this place. Glad it is here, but it was so odd. This is the type of mall that got it together and did what they had to do to not die out. However they had to that is fine because we don’t want to see any dead malls as fun as they may be.
