Hey, I'm Brad, I'm John, well, it hasn't been long since we've done, it hasn't because we
did it fairly recently.
It hasn't been long since we've done something from Dimas Santoparty.
So he's sitting home alone, figured, well, I'm going to give myself a cover.
So I had some friends come over to play some music for him.
And he's done a cover of a Peter Cetera song.
Now, Jonathan obviously read that and the name of the song, which was Glory of Love and thought,
okay, so this is going to be some modern thing that I've never heard of.
As it happens, yes.
Songs from 1986.
He doesn't love the 80s as much as I do, apparently.
Well, I do.
I just didn't recognize the name of the song.
But I guess you were only seven.
In fact, actually, I don't even remember watching Karate Kid Part 2.
Isn't that when it started going downhill, you know, because it was a sequel?
No, Karate Kid 2 was, well, I don't know, some people might.
It was when he was over in China, Hong Kong.
It's been very, very long.
Yeah, I know the city that they call it, but I can't think of it now.
Yeah, it's a very long time since I even would have watched it.
Anyhow, yes, it was featured in the film Karate Kid Part 2, also from 1986.
Yeah, it was recorded shortly after he left the band Chicago.
Oh, you're in Chicago to pursue a solo career.
And it was his first hit single after he left the band,
reaching number one for two weeks on the Billboard Hot 100.
I'm surprised it only lasts for two weeks.
Yeah, but you don't know what else was around the side.
It's always that.
It's always that case.
And if you want to find it on an album, it was included on his 1986 album Solitude
Slash Solitaire.
So that's where the song comes from.
And yeah, it is.
I thought it was actually written for the movie.
You know, some of his songs back then kind of were.
Yeah, no, well, I mean, it could have been, but he wrote and composed it with his wife,
Diane Neeney, at the time, and David Foster.
So I didn't read as to whether it was written specifically for the movie,
or it was a case of he wrote it and then sold it to the movie kind of thing.
Well, it's a good song.
It was a good movie.
Maybe.
But there again, it is part two, so it just matters.
Yeah, there again, him going around being a...
It's not controversy, man.
If he was the bully, if he was the one getting bullied.
But then, you know, some sequels are better.
I mean, you know, look at Star Trek, you know, the Wrath of Khan's a lot better.
Well, they did some.
I think they have six seasons of Cobra Kai.
That's a takeoff from the 80s.
With the two main characters back in it, so there you go.
Well, they were, you know, unemployed, so.
Yeah, but yeah, if you're going to do a reboot, you might as well.
They at least, they did it pretty good, so.
It wasn't even really, it wasn't even the last thing.
Well, yeah, I guess you could call it a reboot, because it was,
it was a continuation of the story today, as opposed to back in the 80s when it originally
started.
Rather...
To me, a reboot is when they're continuing to start a thing.
They're continuing the story rather than, you know...
A remake is when they just, which they have.
I think Will Smith's son was.
Yeah, Jaden Smith was in it.
Yeah, a remake of it.
Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan was taking us to the other part.
I didn't see any of those.
Actually, I could see, I could see, well, I could see today Jackie Chan actually.
I don't even know, was there a regular Crotty's Kid 3?
Yes, there was.
And the fourth.
With him in it?
No, it was a girl.
But it still had Mr. Miyagi in it still.
Did it?
Yeah.
I don't know, I messed it up.
Anyway, we're rambling, so...
No, I'm slightly off topic.
Yeah, no, it's on kind of topic.
But before we check it out, make sure you hit the like and subscribe.

You can find all the links, information, stuff that we have down there.
I'll hit, like, the reaction and the rambling.
Yes.
It is very clear, cause we're both lying here.
There are so many things I wanna say.
I will always love you.
I could never make it alone.
Sometimes I just forget, say things I might regret.
It breaks my heart to see you crying.
I don't wanna lose you.
I could never make it alone.
I am a man who will fight for your honor.
I'll be the hero you're dreaming of.
We'll live forever, knowing together that we fit it all for the glory of love.
I don't think I've ever noticed the hat on top of the lamp before.
That was known as in the TV with the X on it.
Oh, the TV with the X taped on it.
I think I noticed the last time David ever had it.
Yeah, that actually pops up in his earliest videos.
It was, you know, kind of stuck on the desk sort of thing.
Way back when.
A lamp with a hat, is that what you said?
Yeah.
There's a lamp in the corner behind there.
It's one of the weirdest things.
I know.
Cause we already know he's singing again.
Oh, yeah.
So at this point, we've just never seen the random things that,
you know, decorating choices.
Why have you done that to yourself?
Yeah.
Knowing together that we fit it all for the glory of love.
You keep me standing tall.
You help me through it all.
I'm always strong when you're beside me.
I have always needed you.
I could never make it alone.
I will fight for your honor.
I'll be the hero you're dreaming of.
We'll live forever.
Knowing together that we fit it all for the glory of love.
It's like a knight in shining armor from a long time ago.
At the same time, I will save the day.
Take you to my castle far away.
We'll fight for your honor.
I'm actually kind of surprised in a way that he didn't do this as an acoustic.
Because I could see him doing this as an acoustic version.
I think it would have gone both ways.
Well, yeah.
But it's almost...
I know it's not quite rock enough.
For, you know, a cover where he really lets his, you know, rock voice go.
It's, you know, the song's a bit too soft for that.
So it's kind of... I'm surprised he didn't take it a little bit softer
and go acoustic cover with it.
I could see that.
Yeah.
And I am a man who will fight for your honor.
I'll be the hero that you're dreaming of.
We're gonna live forever.
Knowing together that we did it all for the glory of love.
We live forever, we did it all.
We did it all for love.
So I just think his is so much more in his element when he's, you know, they're just...
In his own studio.
Recording and stuff and...
Yeah.
Recording, messing around with his friends.
Yeah.
Yeah, it is.
He really is.
I like his videos like that.
Yeah, they just come across better than the ones he does when he's outside and stuff.
Yeah, it's more relatable, I guess.
And he seems more comfortable.
So the end product seems better because of it.
Yeah.
Even though he sings good in the other one.
I don't know, it just feels...
I like the environment of it.
Obviously, he knows how to sing and obviously did a great job at it.
He's got a lamp with a hat on.
Actually, I finally figured out what it made me think of, which was Cousin It.
You know, the hairy monster whenever he'd turn up, he'd always have a hat on.
So, yes.
So that's Cousin It, the lamp.
Anyway.
Well, obviously, we're going to continue hitting them up.
So if you want to see those, make sure you hit that like and subscribe.
