For the past winters, I've been coming to Japan to ski in those beautiful mountains
filled with powder.
Ever since, I've wondered how they would look in another season, without all the snow.
The same trails and peaks, but valleys filled with autumn-colored trees instead of snow.
The trip didn't start the way we hoped.
You know when the feelings you imagine doesn't match what you're expecting.
Lots of highs, but also lots of lows.
But maybe that was its own quiet reminder that some things take time to fall into place.
And when they finally do, it will feel even better.
I love you, Japan.
And I also want to say thank you for also showing me how much I love home.
This is part two of our Japan road trip.
Welcome to the Japanese Alps.
Run is done.
And now...
Ramen!
Now it's ramen time.
Run is done.
Ramen.
Run is done to ramen.
It's pouring rain in Akuba right now.
It was actually kind of cozy.
But we said on our run that it's so funny because Akuba in summer looks like...
In fall.
In fall looks like something out of The Last of Us or I Am Legend.
So it's very different from winter because they said that in winter it feels like you're in a snow cove.
Because it's so much snow and all the houses are quite cute because they have...
Yeah, they look like marshmallows basically.
But now in the summer...
They're just grey.
They're just so grey, especially in the rain.
But yeah, it will be fun to see because tomorrow it's going to be super sunny.
So then I think it will be a whole different vibe.
But now we're going to eat ramen at Ramen Totsuan.
And then we're going to go to all the...
Our favorite stores here that we usually go to in winter.
You will get to drive.
See you at ramen.
No better words to portray my being a worthless, well-to-wait.
We're back home.
We did the onsen.
We were supposed to eat ramen but the ramen place was closed.
Yeah, as you can see, we washed our clothes yesterday.
And now we're trying to get them dry.
So we have heated up our room here.
But it's a bit chaotic.
And tomorrow we're going to hike.
And we're also moving out of this house.
So we need to pack our lives back into our bags to be ready tomorrow morning.
And we also did Lawson for dinner.
So okay, I think I will end the vlog here for tonight.
And then see you tomorrow morning.
Good night.
Good morning from the car.
We are going to Lawson.
And then we're going to Happo to buy some lift tickets.
And then heading up to the top of Happo to do our hike.
Which is from Happo up to Mount Karamatsu.
Which is really fun because it's a place where we always ski in the winter.
But we've never been to the top.
So it's going to be nice to hike all the way up there.
Our first breakfast stop at Lawson.
Oh, what a majestic monkey.
Morning monkey business.
Look at all the balls.
Ah, another one in the back.
Some sort of monkey morning meeting.
Okay, so a little hike update.
We actually don't know how far we've come.
Because we've been stopping so much and taking photos.
And everything.
Because it's just been so beautiful and so cool.
But yeah, I don't know.
Maybe we...
Hopefully we've done at least halfway.
It's so funny because this area...
Like there's a lot of bears in the Japanese Alps apparently.
So everyone's walking with like their little Montbelle Klingaling.
To let the birds know that we're out hiking.
But it's really cute.
Yeah, as you can see, it's beautiful.
I'm so happy.
Happy and sweating.
That's the best.
Now we've got the last little bit before the hut.
And then there's a little bit more to the top.
Here we go.
It's the summit.
Okay, so we made it to the summit.
Now I'm gonna show you our travel snack pack.
So I got a lovely tonkatsu but shikikatsu sandwich.
We got one each onigiri.
Of course the best apple juice in the world to be honest.
We got some matcha trees.
Jesper also got shikikatsu.
Now we're gonna snack attack.
Okay, fika is done.
Snacking is done.
Now we're going back down.
And another this day.
Yes sir.
It's such a good day.
I have to stop saying yes sir.
No, but I felt that it was good that we turned this trip around.
Because if you like, and then you can hear the bear bells.
But I felt like this day.
Now it's a banger.
Yeah, now this trip is a banger.
Because we got a good sunny day in the mountains.
Okay, let's hike down.
Bye summit.
A hot man making his way down.
And he also burned his neck.
Now he has to wear a scarf.
Beautiful autumn day in Japan.
I also changed my hat about a million times.
Because I can't decide.
I get too warm and then I want to wear it.
And then I'm also obsessed with scarves lately.
And I bought these two.
The green one I had.
And this one from Montpell.
So now I'm doing.
I'm trying them all.
Now we're done.
And we're gonna go to the onsen.
To get fresh.
And then taking the car.
Driving somewhere.
I don't know the name.
But we had a lovely, lovely day.
Jesper is so burned.
He looks like a little Easter bunny.
Koskkärring.
Oh, look at this.
To sunshine.
Arigato, daisamatsu, kuzu-kuzu.
Dravi.
Alla bär, alla bär.
Ritua.
Okay, so now we're going to the onsen.
So we insert our money.
Press our ticket.
Did we do the rental tower?
Yes.
So I just finished the onsen.
Now I'm feeling fresh again.
And now I'm gonna go out to the car.
And then me and Jesper are driving to.
I think it's called Toyama.
But we will see if we can maybe grab some dinner,
some ramen or something before we leave.
But yeah, the onsen was so nice.
And it was nice to wash my face and feel a bit fresh again.
We got the ramen.
We are back where the day started.
And we're also staying in Akuma, which we decided after dinner.
One more night and then tomorrow we will go someplace.
But now we're on a snack run.
Can you do Oreos?
Snickers?
I think so.
Or maybe...
What are you having?
I think I will do Snickers.
This is our favorite.
We call them pine trees.
But we're not really sure what they are.
These are good.
