Certainty


You are the grass and the earth, the sense
when one walks barefoot
across a plowed field.

For you I knotted my red apron
and now I bend to this fountain
mute immersed in a bosom of mountains:
I know that suddenly
- the midday will swarm with the cries
of its finches -
your face will gush
in the serene mirror, next to mine.
