China vs USA | Women's VNL 2023

212 points in this competition. They do go straight to Plummer. It is an overpass. Captain leading by example. Annie Drews. Oh dear. Let's get the speed camera on that one. That's a big swing from Annie Drews in the front row. That deserves a speeding ticket. Yeah, this ball coming from the opposite side of the court. Chengyu with the serve. Oh, that's incredible. Fast, fast play from Yuan Xinyu. Great push from Diao Linyu. Middles from USA. Gonna have to work really hard, especially against the number one from China. Li Yingying on the floor. She's up and about again. Here comes Washington. Oh, what an angle. Is that one for takeoff? It's certainly hip change and just powers through. Serve that he wants to bring in. There's that service pressure, utmost important for that team. USA continue this run. They've come in fighting on game 16. Great push. This time a better run in the ball. That's the danger that USA have. That's why they are so good at serving anyway. But the pressure is if they can't put it on hard enough on China, that's what's going to happen as veterans. That's much better. Retsky comes in to get the full swing. Back to one there from China. Annie Drews has had enough of that. Big swing from Annie Drews at a crucial time in transition using that lefty arm. He offers some options in the middle, but it goes out wide. And this time Li Yingying with the left hand. Nice angle. Big shot from Li Yingying. Check out how sharp. The whole way. Now they're serving for the first set. Doing a great job using those long legs, moving side to side, finishing up that set. Top point scorer with five points for China. Second set underway. Manipulated angle for the middle attack. Great adjustment from China. Blocking Annie Drews. That lefty on the opposite. They brought that block just a little bit more in. From there we see the quality of the pass that she can do. And we also see the quality of Li Yingying. One challenge used. They still have another challenge available for them. They're still alive. Some football skills. Normal football skills, not American football skills. But USA. Washington off the tape. Oh now China. China doing work. Both sides just using whatever 16-12. Back to basics for Annie Drews. Right into the corner. Impressive shot from Annie Drews. Her body making it look like she's going to hit with the serve. 14-16. Li Yingying with the acute angle. Li Yingying same shot that she just hit. Goes right back to it inside those. Points across towards China. Li Yingying. They go to Pummer again. This one is tight on the net. Carlini makes it. Ripped with the kill. Responds first in this one. He'll be looking for that response. Onto the back line. Beautiful set. That back 10 is inside the court for Drews. Carlini really. Come on 11 points. That's another nice touch. This one from Gao Yi. She's coming with a slide. Saw the gap over the top. 100 sets. Left into the corner. Huge save. Lauren Carlini going up with one hand. What a visit to have. Like I've got three years in a row in Italy. Best server. The gap's on the Chinese court now. Not on the USA's. Lots of smiles on their side. Catherine Plummer just putting that ball. Good set. Held the position. Carlini with a throw. Oh I love that one deep down the corner. Carlini with a little switch up. First one went right to the middle of the court. Sends that ball deep. Not very often she ever hits straight is it? She is very clever normally about left and right. These are too tight. Yeah very much does a good job. USA again looking for their fourth title. High ball hoisted wide. Left hand picked up. The knee slide from Annie Drews. Good come back in. Brought ball back in from Wong Young Loo. And then Li Yang Yang delivers the goods. Smart shot Li Yang Yang. Start for China. Plummer again gets the ball outside the three meter line. Runs in the court. Into the block. Big block from China. Better ball from Plummer. It's tight. Oh that's the reverse. Second ball. Love it. Tricky from Lauren Carlini up front in this tight pass. Carlini. Good serve. Quick play. Probably the best in the world at the moment. Just the shape of the ball when she's facing across the internet. Back to four points now. If Clayton was here, one of our famous commentators on Hollywood World, he would say she's hitting the snap. To the right. Big stuff block from China. Great read. Looking good so far. Set four. Nice call Francie. Oh big swing. Coming off her hand hot. That quick snap down on the overpass. The Plummer and she will score as that would have been the chant with it. That's what I'm saying. Lovely swing at the end. That was exactly what Karch Kry wanted. Bringing the coverage here in Korea. Straight to Plummer. Nice ball in. Washington. High reach. Smart decision by Carlini. Getting her middle involved in the middle of the game. Another perfect ball in. Oh beautiful Gawi. Middle for middle. Gawi stepping in. That one's short. Well that's audacious from Carlini. It's so flat and she has to work that ball. She moves to 12. 13. Yuan Xinyue getting her team pumped up. Reading that so well. That's good with her team. Two-point advantage. Carlini again down low. Drews goes into the block. Carlini is going to force this out wide. Robeson-Cook. She goes off speed. Now the left hand goes off speed and drops it short. China get the point. Those other two teams are mirroring each other. Just tip after tip but China puts it in a much better place. Right in that middle of the court USA. This game was tied at five apiece and then China have just excelled. 24-year-old looking for that float serve to the angle. The fight in there. Washington reads it. Carlini is going to go out wide but no she switches up to the reverse. Pipe attack. Now it's going to go out wide. Plumber. Big setting up match point for China. Another five has been a blocking machine. A huge work here. China win. 15-8. 3-2 on the final game of the pool stage of the Nations League here on Volleyball World TV.
