TRT World Forum

Distinguished participants of the TRT World Forum, members of the business, media and academic world, esteemed guests, ladies and gentlemen, I extend my warmest greetings to you with respect and love. I am very pleased to be with you on the occasion of the 9th TRT World Forum this year. I extend my warmest greetings to you, our esteemed guests, I welcome you to our beautiful Istanbul, where seven colors, seven voices and seven climates intermingle. We see that the forum has become an extremely valuable platform to consult on issues concerning humanity. Since 2017, I have been sincerely congratulating the TRT management and its members I would like to draw the bottom line of a fact right at the beginning of my speech. Our TRT, one of Turkey's 100 right institutions, is a source of pride for us, with its broadcasting understanding that puts people at the center and its broadcasts that convey the voice of truth all over the world. TRT World Forum, which is organized by our TRT, is now one of the most valuable manifestations of this approach, which is known and recognized in seven continents. Up to this day, nearly a thousand speakers in different fields have voiced their opinions, opinions and suggestions on this platform, and nearly ten thousand participants have followed the programs. Every year, under a different title, in the fields of economy, politics, security, media, technology and international relations. This year, our forum, the Global Re-Establishment, is organized in connection with new realities from the old order. For the next two days, 135 competent speakers from 35 different countries and more than 2,000 participants will be looking for innovative solutions to global issues. When the world and our region are aware of the painful process, such a fertile environment is undoubtedly gaining more importance. This is a fact that no matter how much we talk about the problems that threaten the future of humanity, no matter how much we discuss in the context of mutual respect, we can only reach reasonable solutions in that respect. I hope that the issues to be discussed here, the ideas to be listened to here, the calls to rise here will contribute to the search for peace and tranquility of all humanity. I wish not only the media, but also the forum, where many global issues will be discussed, to be successful. I would like to thank our guests who have contributed to the forum with their participation, ideas and suggestions. Dear guests, Every day we live reveals the need for a more just, more comprehensive, more encompassing global system. Wars, clashes, inequality and injustice have almost occupied the agenda of all humanity. Unfortunately, the existing system established by the victors of World War II does not comply with today's realities and needs. The United Nations cannot produce a solution to the common problems of humanity due to the unfair decision-making structure of the Security Council. Often, in many places of the globe, innocent people continue to die, As Turkey, it says that the fate of humanity cannot be left to the justice of five countries, and for this reason we say that the world is bigger than five. It is a pity that the system, which is late in making decisions even in the most severe human rights violations in the greatest human crises, needs to be re-established with fresh ideas, new contributions and, of course, up-to-date reflection. Look, in the last two years, we have followed the events in Gaza together. The Israeli government martyred 70,000 Gazans, more than 20,000 children, in front of the eyes of the whole world for two years. More than 170,000 Palestinian brothers were injured in Israeli attacks. There was not a single solid building left in Gaza. Schools, churches, mosques, hospitals were deliberately bombed. Still, what do they say? Israel is innocent. How is it innocent? The nuclear weapon is Israel. The strongest bombs are from Israel. As soon as it wants, it has the ability to hit Gaza as it wants. How is it innocent? Yesterday, this happened to us and we have already said what is necessary there. On the contrary, it is not innocent. The oppressor is Israel itself. It has nuclear weapons. It has bombs. It has all kinds of weapons. It has short-range, medium-range, long-range weapons. How is it innocent? They don't swallow this. Especially as Turkey, we don't swallow this. Israel used hunger as a deadly weapon, especially against children. We just saw it on the screen. We saw those babies with skin and bones. And these babies are being raised with hunger. 270 journalists who tried to tell the truth to the world at the cost of their lives against Israel's propaganda machine based on lies, were killed. Palestinian journalists not only lost their lives, but also their children. Just now, one of our friends lost his wife and children there. His parents were also martyred in this process. I would like to express my sadness that while all this is happening, the institutions responsible for protecting global peace and stability have not taken any steps to stop the massacres, prevent the genocide, and save the lives of children. Even the decisions made by the General Staff were sacrificed for the interests of the Security Council. It is not possible to understand this. Look, I have to say this here. The media organizations that camped in Istanbul during the Gezi events, as well as the international press, remained in the classroom in Gaza with the language of journalism that carefully hides the perpetrators. A handful of media organizations and brave journalists were not able to make the world hear the voices of the innocent people in Gaza. I believe that the international press community will take this into account, albeit late. It is very important for the media to expose the criminals who used their pens, cameras, screens, and corners to darken the crimes of genocide in Gaza. I think that the broadcasts that our international press has continued with great dedication since the first day of the genocide are very valuable. The international press, which did not take a break from the news flow from Gaza, also made a great success in archiving files on the perpetrators. Photographer Yahya Barzak was martyred for this cause. Journalists who lost their lives in the attacks of Yahya Barzak and Israel are once again remembered with mercy. We watched the will of our martyrs together. Inshallah, the conscience of the international press will be remembered by the memory of Yahya Barzak and the other 270 press members. It will ensure that the perpetrators of genocide are accounted for in the light of the evidence they have collected at the cost of their lives. As Turkey, we are ready to do whatever it takes on this issue. We are ready to take all the necessary steps, especially the Law and Justice Council. As you know, in the weeks after the two-year persecution, a ceasefire was reached between Hamas and Israel with our support. Thus, our brothers in Gaza began to breathe a sigh of relief for the first time. We see that Hamas is acting cautiously about the agreement. Israel, on the other hand, is looking for an excuse to break the agreement and to restart its massacres. Here is the previous day. Again, more than a hundred children were martyred in Gaza. Everyone knows Israel's terrible record for treacherous loyalty. Therefore, it will be possible for humanitarian aid to reach our brothers in Gaza and for Gaza to be re-constructed, but Israel will have to face all these difficulties. Turkey is ready to put not only its hands, but also its entire body under the stone to lift Gaza up as soon as possible. As yesterday, today and tomorrow, we will never leave our Palestinian brothers alone and we will continue to defend the two-state solution. We find it extremely important to recognize Palestine's decisions that have been made in recent times. I invite countries that have not yet made this decision to take action and recognize the Palestinian state. Dear friends, It is easy to sit down and watch developments in the world, even to criticize them. It is difficult to change, to transform, to light a candle against darkness. But we have not chosen the easy one, we have always chosen the difficult one. We preferred to take action, to take responsibility, to fight to turn the darkness into light, rather than to sit and watch or criticize the wrongdoers. We are trying to bring peace, justice, solidarity and peace to every corner of our civilized geography, which covers millions of square kilometers. As Turkey, we are taking initiative not only in Gaza, but in every human crisis that has occurred. We have taken responsibility from day one to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian war, which will enter its fourth year, with just and permanent peace. We expressed our determination to provide permanent peace at the first stage in our talks with Mr. Putin and Mr. Zelenskiy. I hope that in the near future, there will be a middle way between the parties, and the two neighboring peoples will be able to live in peace again. Turkey will continue to contribute to this. Last year, we helped to resolve disagreements that have the potential to turn into a major crisis between Somalia and Ethiopia. Our brotherly countries also played a key role in overcoming the crisis that broke out in recent weeks between Afghanistan and Pakistan. The inter-relationship efforts carried out by our National Intelligence Agency gave fruits in a short time as a demonstration of trust in our country, and a ceasefire agreement was signed between the parties. We sincerely hope that this agreement will become permanent. I express this with all my heart and sincerity. There is no longer any luxury for any country in the world today to imprison itself within its borders. There is no luxury for any country in the world today to imprison itself within its borders. Today, whether it is Gaza, or Afghanistan, or Sudan, those who look at the death of the innocent as if it were not their problem, I say openly, they learn that it is not the case at all. Those who do not care about poverty, conflicts, and crises just beyond their borders, let alone humanity, cannot promise a bright future even for their own children. A world where every sheep is hanged from its own leg means a dark world for all of us. Those who remain silent in the face of injustice have become partners in this injustice. Do not forget to show your consent to cruelty. As people who believe in a day of reckoning, we cannot show our consent to cruelty. We cannot be among those who are silent in the face of injustice. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that despite the communication revolution in the last 20 years, children continue to die from Asia to Africa. We all have to question ourselves. In recent days, I believe that you are following the horrific images from Sudan both as a journalist and as an individual. No one can accept the massacres against civilians in Al-Fashr, the capital of northern Darfur. No one can remain silent about this. As Turkey, we condemn the cruelties against civilians in the city of Al-Fashr in the strongest possible way. The end of the attacks in the city of Al-Fashr and its surroundings should immediately stop the massacres against innocent civilians. We are ready to carry out our brotherhood law with sincerity and open-heartedness. As long as the blood of brothers does not flow, as long as innocent children, women and civilians are not killed. I am waiting for you to shoulder this struggle by announcing the drama of our Sudanese brothers to the world. Dear guests, dear friends. Our TRT plays a critical role in ensuring that these efforts, which we carry out in the name of global peace, are placed in the common memory of humanity. TRT today best represents our country with its 17 televisions, 17 radio channels, digital applications, cinema films, documentaries, and digital news platforms in foreign languages. In addition to TRT World and TRT Araby, we address more than half of the world's population with 41 languages and internet and radio broadcasting platforms on digital news platforms in the most spoken languages. With these broadcasts, TRT expands the field of responsible broadcasting in an age when manipulation has become a media reflex. It offers an alternative based on the truth to billions of people when the truth is sacrificed for perceptions. I would like to express that we find them extremely valuable. In this period, when Turkish TV series are followed by billions of people, TRT is also the priority of the TV series sector. TRT series are broadcast in more than 110 countries in more than 50 languages. Thanks to these productions, many people around the world learn both our beautiful Turkish and get the opportunity to meet with our history, culture, national and spiritual values. This is very important. As you know, the family institution is under serious attack. Intertwined relationships, perverted flows, togetherness that underestimates human nature are prioritized through digital platforms. Social media platforms are also hindering this decoupling process. Under the family institution consisting of men and women, dynamite is being placed. With the concept of freedom, all kinds of immorality is being tried to be legalized. People are not afraid to reveal their privacy just to get a few likes. Unfortunately, they do not hear about it. I believe that we should pay more attention to productions that prioritize human and humanistic values, such as being a nation against individualization, At this point, I appreciate TRT's efforts to disseminate family-oriented, clean content in both traditional and digital mediums. I expect you to continue on your way without sacrificing our country, our nation and humanity. I hope that the 9th TRT World Forum will be a means to good results. I sincerely believe that these sincere efforts will open the door to a more just world. I would like to thank all our participants who contributed to the forum by coming from all over the world.
