Top Points of Day 2 - #WTTMontpellier 2025

As we reach the midway point now. Oh well, that was the rally of the match so far. Goes the way of Benedikt Nuda. Utters the apology. A short, full stretch. How he managed that return, I do not know. Nuda pushing him from side to side. This exchange makes you love table tennis. And as a player, to trouble Guzzi. Oh, nice there. Oh, so good. He was so far back, he was almost on the coach's bench, on the purple sofa there. She's overdue for a surprise. What an exchange. Chun-Yi was incredible in this rally. Lily Zhang was defending so well. Spent most of this point just sending the ball back. As if she was trying to earn the opportunity to finally hit it hard. Patient play from Kunuk. A spectacular point. And Kunuk was there for it all. I say patient. And yet still, Ugo brings home some powerful balls. Here we go. No. So well. He had to extend the bat in his hand. He was flying from Xiangkang to bring up four games. You do find, Adam, don't you, that some players have almost got an alter ego when they're out there at the table. Patient play for the moment. And when the angle presents itself, you will know. Don't move until you see it, Kunuk. Into this forehand side. Working well. Unbelievable. To find the transition zone. Athena Hayate there. Xu Hui on his feet. She was under fire. Nice. What a squatting shot there from Pritika Bhavad. Containing, patient. Game number one. At least it feels that way. Credit to Zeng Jian, who's just moved the ball around so well. The way you talk to yourself. The way you prepare. Has a big effect on the outcome of any individual point. Corner to corner here. Hanagata creates the opening with that spinny setup. Then the follow-up deep to the corner. Nine-three. So spiraling here, isn't it? A rising star of China defeating her at those two events. This is superb stuff from Kim Naeyoung. A mountain change here.
