Get ready with Brittany Snow as she prepares for the 2025 InStyle Imagemaker Awards. Brittany works with her hair and makeup artists Glen Oropeza and Diane Buzzetta to create a sleek, timeless look for the event. She discusses her biggest beauty and style inspirations, from Carolyn Bessette Kennedy to Michele Pfeifer and more, including 90s icons like Gwyneth Paltrow and Meg Ryan. Brittany also shares how she gets in the zone for red carpets, and how it’s not unlike playing a character on screen! Brittany’s pre-show routine would not be complete without a visit from her date to the event—'The Hunting Wives' costar Katie Lowes. InStyle's second annual Imagemaker Awards honors the fashion and beauty innovators that support celebrities: the industry’s most influential stylists, makeup artists, hair experts, designers, and more.
Hi InStyle, I'm Brittany Snow.
Come get ready with me to see how I go from looking like this
to this.
Come on in.
Wait, wait, I want to do it again.
I wanted a good clap.
We are getting ready for the InStyle Image Maker Awards
that I am very, very honored to get to attend.
I've never been before and I've always seen them
and I just really love getting to be around people
who are actually the people that make all of this stuff happen.
And these beautiful, talented people around me
make sure that I look suitable to go to awards functions.
Diane and Glenn.
It's such a great thing when you have people also around you
that it's a good time to hang out with
because you're with them a lot
and you want to just sit and talk and feel sort of calm
and we have a good time.
Glenn and I for a while, Diane is a newbie.
New addition.
But just, you know, it was like a first date
and then I was like, you want to be in a relationship?
You want to do this?
You want to do this forever?
We're going for like classically snatched.
Like timeless but still like really clean and sleek.
This morning I thought I was going to be wearing my hair down
so this was a last minute switch up.
And for this I sort of like to make sure that everyone feels inspired
and wants to do their own thing as well.
I don't want to give too much of a set thing
because it can be interchangeable
and sometimes I know my opinion is not the best one.
I like people to kind of go with what they're feeling.
You know what you like.
I do know what I like.
When we were doing the Emmys I got way too many opinions
and everyone was very split on it
and it made it harder to decide because everyone was pretty...
We all had very strong opinions.
We all had strong opinions.
But I felt like we picked the right one.
Can I do that even more back?
Yeah.
Okay thanks.
See I have opinions.
I'm answering your questions but I'm also really trying not to move.
I definitely really do appreciate the classic style of
feeling like you're playing a character in a way.
I do feel like once I get into a dress and have full glam and hair and makeup
I do feel like a different person.
A fancier version of myself.
And that does really help with the event.
I know I get curious about people who do get super nervous
and I'm like you're an actor.
Just turn it on and pretend like you're being...
It's such an awkward thing to be on a red carpet and serve.
You really think about it and you zone out from a macro way
because usually what you should do is just go on the carpet and be like
Hey what's up?
But you can't do that because all the pictures would be awful.
So you really got to go into your inner movie star.
Your inner Marilyn.
But it is just a different version of myself.
I don't take it too seriously.
I try not to judge myself.
I never really do eyedrops and that has got me into trouble before.
The night before I got really hurt by a guy that I was dating.
This is a long time ago.
And I was crying all night long and I went to this really massive red carpet the next day
and my eyes were so bloodshot and everyone thought I was high.
But I wasn't.
I had just been crying all night.
Moral of the story is you got to use the eyedrops.
That would have really saved me and people would have not thought I was high.
I get to tonight go with my friend Katie Lowe's who we met on The Hunting Wives.
And she has become a really great friend of mine.
And I just so enjoy her company.
Especially like events like this where we just don't take ourselves too seriously.
We have so much fun together.
And she also knows everybody in this business.
And so it's going to be just fun to be with a girlfriend and get to eat tiny hors d'oeuvres
and have a margarita.
Can't go wrong.
Oh yeah.
She's in there.
She's not going nowhere.
Beauty is, I don't know if it's pain but it's temporary pain in terms of
I do feel so much better when I get through the red carpet.
I do, I don't want to tell this to Glenn in front of him but he's right there.
But sometimes I'll just like undo like a little bit after the red carpet.
Just so it like breathes a little.
I've definitely been known to take out my hair in a limo and just be holding it.
Brittany is one to eat her lips a little bit.
It would be risky to do like a bold lip on her.
So we're keeping her in like a pretty pink hydrated lip.
You can lip me and I will just keep refreshing.
I'll just keep doing it.
You don't trust me.
Well, I do constantly refresh my lips when I'm at an event.
You're to be trusted to refresh because she is good at her makeup.
Oh cool.
I don't ever know what he's doing back there.
I just trust him.
So it's always a surprise.
I didn't even know there was someone else's hair in my head.
I mean, this current era of my career is so cool.
I mean, it's just really nice that people really loved the show and that it's being received well
and that people have very strong opinions about it.
I find it so fascinating and fun.
I've been in this business since I was three years old.
I wasn't really like, you know, going to nine to five job, but I was in commercials and stuff.
I am really grateful that I'm still getting to do it.
And that people still are liking the shows I'm on.
My inspirations for styling and for glam too.
It's like, I always want to look like maybe a mixture or maybe my own thing.
But Carolyn Bessette Kennedy and Michelle Pfeiffer, Grace Kelly, Jennifer Aniston.
If they had like a hybrid child, like just always really simplistic and classy and effortless.
And I can always find inspiration if I go to one of their Google searches.
I don't know why I didn't tell you that this was happening.
No, I knew it was happening.
Oh, you did?
Yeah.
Oh, good.
Okay.
Oh, yeah.
The beautiful, brilliant, talented, best.
Wow.
See, I needed her.
That was how you do it.
One take wonder.
I'm her date tonight.
My gorgeous, fabulous, talented date.
She does her own mascara everywhere.
And she's the best eyelashes.
I start at like the base and then I kind of do this like wiggly thing.
And then I go up from there.
And then I kind of do it where they sort of fan out just a little bit.
So they're sort of like, they're doing like a wisp.
Aren't you anti-curling too?
I'm anti-curling.
Yeah, she doesn't like the lash curl.
Well, if you curled your eyelashes, they would be in your eyebrows.
I always bring a good time in case you didn't know.
Also, I feel like we're getting ready for like a wedding or like a bachelor party.
What are we doing?
We met, there's something called Series Fest in Austin.
No, ATX Festival.
Yes, yeah.
In Austin.
With Tom Verica.
And we were there for a scandal panel.
And Tom Verica, he was the producing director of Scandal, played your dad on American Dreams.
Yes.
And he said, you two are going to meet and be like this.
Yes.
And we met and I was taken aback by her beauty.
But then when this audition came out for The Hunting Wives,
I called Tom Verica to put in a good word for me to get the role because he knew who
was directing the pilot.
And didn't you ask Tom Verica to do the same?
Definitely.
And that's how we fell in love.
Fell in love.
Long story short.
Hard.
Okay, what else?
I don't think this puppy is moving.
That's for sure.
No.
I am wearing line.
It's this gorgeous dress that the minute that I saw it,
especially with the beads in the back, I knew I wanted to wear it.
There's this great movie, What a Way to Go, with Shirley MacLaine.
There's a shot of her sitting and there's these beautiful pearls down her back from 1964.
And so that was our inspiration for this dress.
Okay, guys, I'll see you in a second.
Gotta get ready.
So do I.
Wow.
Oh no, there's Pellegrino.
I'm already having a great time.
Okay, this is the look.
Stop.
I feel so good.
I feel so glamorous.
And everyone did such an amazing job.
I love my team.
And that's who we're celebrating tonight.
These people.
So I'm very, very happy.
Yay!
Oh, I'm just hyped.
Hair, makeup, styling.
Everyone.
Hunwabs.
Hunwabs drank a lot of margaritas.
Margaritas.
So this is tequila.
So it's similar.
And I won't get it on my way.
Cheers like this.
Now we're supposed to play Never Have I Ever.
No.
Oh my god.
We've got a sprinter because of this dress.
I know.
InStyle is not messing around.
I know.
We can't have to lay down.
No, I have to stand up.
I just did.
This is unsafe.
Don't think about it.
Welcome to the party bus.
We're going to Vegas.
We're not.
Oh my god.
Thanks so much, InStyle.
You guys have been so much fun.
Thanks for getting ready with me.
Bye.
I'll be standing for the next 15.
Oh.
15 minutes.
She's really smart.
I swear.
What's happening?
Bye.
One time I asked my stylist.
We were going on so many nights in a row of events.
And my feet were dead.
Dead.
And unanimously, people said, you have to have a drink.
Take two Advil.
And just keep on moving.
I already took the two Advil.
These are actually surprisingly comfortable.
They're Jimmy Choo.
They're very comfortable.
Thank you, Jimmy Choo.
