Haruna Miyagawa - Profile:
Born in Nara Prefecture.
Studied under Yutaka Makise from the 2nd grade of elementary school.
• At 4th grade, she won the Gold Prize in her first appearance at the 39th Japan Guitar Competition. Over the next five years, she consecutively won Gold Prizes and received the Japan Guitar Association Award for four consecutive years.
• Achieved back-to-back victories at the San’in Guitar Competition, including the Special “Yonago City Mayor Award.”
• At the young age of 12, she held her first solo recital in Nara Prefecture, gaining attention as a rising star in the classical guitar world, with features in TV, newspapers, and magazines.
• 2019: Won the Professional Division of the 27th San’in Guitar Competition, also receiving the Special “Tottori Governor Award.”
• 2020: Champion of the High School Division at the 42nd Junior Guitar Competition, also earning the prestigious Grand Prize.
• 2021: Awarded the Ayako Watanabe Prize at the 1st Ibra Grand Award Japan Competition. Performed at Carnegie Hall in New York as part of the prize in May the following year.
• 2022: First Prize in the Young C Division at the 28th Mottola International Guitar Competition.
• 2023: Advanced through the qualifying and final rounds of the 41st Spanish Guitar Music Competition (celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Japan-Spain Guitar Association). Performed all movements of “Concierto de Aranjuez” in her first orchestra collaboration at the Grand Final, receiving the Audience Award and Second Prize as the only Japanese female finalist.
