Felix Lebrun vs Jonathan Groth - MS R32 - #WTTMontpellier 2025

Long, attack, he's incredibly aggressive. I say all that. A little bit less threatening. Oh, pulls that one out of the right. Well placed to the short side. Here's Gropes, secures his second point. Talked a lot about the practice all here. It's good recovery. Game one in the bag, 6-7 down, ties it up and then runs away. There it is, the third ball. To attack. And this one, a little bit lower and faster. Coming back. Curse of the commentator, beautiful catch by our ball kid. Okay. He's been getting into the rally a bit more, getting the racket up. Momentum started to go to the opponent. Even after the timeout, it still took some time, 8-7. Three touches in there. Tough way to get into the point. But he's still in it with the Skylobs. Oh, you want us not caring. A fearlessness to the final shot after the inside-out forehand. Able to communicate quite clearly. Extra spin on that push once again. Looking for the arcing spin in the baseline, Gropes still surviving. Long push, does it. Finishes the round and he's on through to the round of 16. Jonathan Gropes has well played. Strong as can be. The third seed here in three straight games. More importantly, the defending champ, the man who stood atop the table. A man who's got an incredible record against the former world number one, Lin Shidong. Has taken down a bright star. Jonathan Gropes. A player who's been a staple for Denmark. Again, facing the third seed and defending champ in the opening round.
