Hey guys, I'm Coral Rodriguez with West Coast Country, and today we're going to teach a
very basic line dance called Cowboy Hustle.
The beauty of this dance is it goes to nearly any song that you'll hear at a country club.
So wherever you are, you can always dance it on your own, or you can dance along with
everyone who's doing it at the club.
So this is a 32-count four-wall line dance, and let's get to it.
So you're going to start with your weight on your left foot.
But this goes for most line dances that you're going to learn.
You're starting with your weight on your left so that your right foot is available to start
movement.
What you're going to do first is you're going to do a fan motion with your right foot.
You're going to have your weight on your heel, and you're going to take that right toe, and
you're going to make an out, in, out, in.
So that's out, in, out, in.
The count for that is one, two, three, four.
And after that, you're going to do two heels forward with your right foot, heel, heel,
and two toes back with your right foot, toe, toe.
Then you're going to do alternating heels and toes, so you're going to do a right heel
forward, right toe back, right heel forward, right toe back.
So all of those heels and toes together is heel, heel, toe, toe, heel, toe, heel, toe.
So now let's try this all from the top.
Starting with the fans out, that's out, in, out, in, heel, heel, toe, toe, heel, toe,
heel, and toe.
That's the most easy part of the dance.
Now we're going to start moving a little bit.
So you're going to take this left foot, keep your weight on it because you did the heel,
toe, heel, toe, and you're going to step forward with this right foot, kick forward with your
left, step down with your left, and point your right toe back.
You're going to do that cycle twice through.
So if you do those two cycles, it's step, kick, step, and touch, step, kick, step, and
touch.
So let's put all of that together because I know it can get confusing if you don't do
it lots of times.
So from the top, from the right toe out, that's out, in, out, in, heel, heel, toe, toe, heel,
toe, heel, and toe.
Now step, kick, step, and touch, step, kick, step, and touch.
And that's pretty much the complicated part of the dance.
Now we're just going to finish it out with a couple of grapevines.
If you don't know what a grapevine is, all it is is we're going to start with one out
to the right.
You're going to take this right foot that's free, you're going to step out, and you're
going to take your left foot, step it behind your right, then step your right toe out and
step together.
That's all the grapevine is.
So if you do that grapevine again, it's right, behind, right, touch, okay?
You're touching this left foot so that your weight is on your right foot, okay?
Then you're going to take this left foot that's free, you're going to step out with your left,
step your right foot behind your left, step out with your left, and touch that right toe.
The only thing that we're going to change here is when you're going towards the left,
you're going to make a quarter turn on the left, too.
So if you're going to take it from the right grapevine, it's out, behind, out, and touch,
left, behind, left, and turn, okay?
So I taught you the basics, so the same way, and at the end you just add that quarter turn.
So if we do that together, that's out, behind, right, and touch, left, behind, left, quarter
turn, okay?
Now you're going to still need that right foot free because you're going to do the next
movement, which is simply to step out with your right, that's out, and then step together
with your left, and you're going to step back with your left and right.
If you want to be a little bit crazy, you can hop, so you can do hop together, hop back,
or you can take it easy and just step out and back, okay?
So now from the beginning, we're going to try it all, starting with our weight on our
left foot and our right foot is doing the little fan motion.
Ready?
Five, six, seven, eight, out, in, out, in, heel, heel, toe, toe, heel, toe, heel, toe,
step, kick, and touch, step, kick, and touch to the right, behind, together to the left,
behind, quarter turn, out, and back.
And that's the whole dance.
So there you go, that was Cowboy Hustle, super easy, super short, and it goes to lots of
songs so you can have fun with it when you learn it finally and get it all down.
