Now we all know that once you get into your 40s your makeup needs to change. Products sometimes
need to change, application needs to change, blending needs to change, so much needs to change
because so much is changing with your face and it's just kind of an ongoing process. But there
are products that I feel are made for over 40s. Like they're so good it's like someone was sitting
in the lab who was in their 40s. 100%. Because the way they've been made it's like it just is for us
and that's what I want to go through with you today. I want to go through products that feel
like they were literally made for your 40s because they work well with dry skin, with fine lines,
with wrinkles, with depression lines, with sagging, with dryness, when things cling to dry places,
like all of these things with texture, everything that we deal with as we go into our 40s.
These products feel like they were made for us and that's why I want to go through them with you.
If you're new here, I'm Nina. I'm a celebrity makeup artist and a beauty educator and I go
through everything that helps you. This channel is all about being educational and learning
everything that you can about makeup. Very detailed, very precise and very easy to understand.
Let's start off with the first product. It is the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. There are two
versions of this. One is the Natural Dewy and one is the Blurred Matte. I personally love the Natural
Dewy. I really do like the Blurred Matte too but honestly the Natural Dewy gives me the most skin-like
finish and I actually like the dewiness because it isn't too heavy. It's not overly dewy. It's not
like really greasy or anything. There are some foundations or tinted moisturizers out there
that are so greasy on the skin. For example, the Bobbi Brown one cannot stand it. It just is like,
makes you look like a grease ball. It's horrible. This is absolutely amazing. My shade is 3W Palomino
and it's pretty accurate to be fair. I don't know about the other shades but the fact that I can
match something to my skin shade to me is like a plus point. This one has been around forever and
there's a good reason why it's so iconic. You've probably heard so much about it. I heard so much
about it before I even tried it and I was like, I don't know why people are going on about this so
much. It's just a tinted moisturizer but I think I only kind of appreciated it once I got into my
40s. This is actually SPF 30 as well so you do get that protection which is great. I feel like this
is the perfect everyday base if you're in your 40s. It gives you that natural, fresh finish to your
skin. Very skin-like. I have this on now and honestly it's the one thing that makes my skin
look good considering it's not heavy and it's not like amazing coverage but I'm going to tell you a
little secret here in a minute what I do to get that amazing coverage. It doesn't emphasize fine
lines or texture. I feel like it kind of blurs them out a little bit. It's also infused with
ingredients and I can't pronounce them for the life of me but they're good for you. So it basically
keeps your skin very hydrated and it's a very flexible formula. It's not heavy, it doesn't
cling to dry patches. I like to combine this with a concealer to get a really amazing base for an
everyday look so that's exactly what I've done today. Now this is all over my face and then the
concealer is only on my under eyes and I put a little dash there. I don't spread the concealer
out onto the rest of the face so all of this area here you are not seeing any concealer at all. All
the forehead, there's none there. So this works in a really amazing way with this concealer because
the concealer focuses on the dark circles. You don't even need to apply it here. I just put it
there for a little bit of a lift but it works really really well at kind of giving you the
coverage where you need it. So it's almost like this really clever illusion that you give because
really what we don't realize is you don't need coverage everywhere. It's usually specific places
like the under eyes or the eye area that's usually really dark and once you've sorted that out,
the rest of the face looks fine. So this is where you can use this all over. It's a light coverage
and it gives you the most amazing skin-like finish like so but we've got the concealer to work on the
areas that we need it. So it's kind of like making you feel like everything's flawless when actually
you don't actually have the concealer anywhere else other than your eyes. Now I will say don't
ever replace your moisturiser with a tinted moisturiser. I feel like a lot of people get
confused in that way. You should replace your foundation with a tinted moisturiser. So if you
worry about like how to use a tinted moisturiser, it's really easy. Just replace your foundation
with a tinted moisturiser. That's it. If you're loving learning about products that are for your
40s then please do hit this like button and subscribe to the channel and hit the bell button.
I put a lot of effort into my videos to make sure that I give you the information that you need and
make them detailed and it doesn't cost you a thing. I would really really appreciate if you
could do those three little things for me because they would mean the world to me and they really do
help my channel out. The next product is my Anastasia Beverly Hills Hydra Prime SPF 50.
This is a primer that I feel like was made for anyone in their 40s. This primer is insane. It is
so hydrating for your skin. If you struggle with a lot of dryness, which a lot of people do in their
40s, then try this. You're going to love it. This works amazingly as a primer. So it gives you the
hydration. By the way, can I just add that it smells so good. Like not a fragrancy smell.
There's something, some ingredient they've used is just so nice. It smells really good and you're
going to love it. I know you are. And it smells expensive. It smells really good. But this is
really, really good. It is packed with ingredients that are good for your skin. I love the fact that
it's SPF 50. So you've got really high protection there. It gives you this kind of balmy texture on
your skin before you apply your foundation. So it really does allow your foundation to stay hydrated,
like your whole, your skin to stay hydrated all day. And it is very good at smoothing the skin
ready for that polished application. My next product is the Too Faced Born This Way Multitasking
Concealer. Or it's Multi-Use Concealer. Sorry, it's Multi-Use Concealer. I always get that confused
because the names are just so long. This concealer is made for your 40s. Now, I don't know who's
working over at Too Faced, but I always like, I know this sounds really bad, but I just always
envision it's like a group of teenagers working at Too Faced because obviously the branding, you
know, it's all very pink and fun and playful. And you're just like, are there any adults working
there? You know, but this concealer is so good. So good. This is like made for anyone in their 40s.
So there's gotta be one person there who's in their 40s, but this is amazing because I feel
like this texture is just perfect. It's, it's not too fluid. It's not too heavy. It's, it doesn't
cake up. It doesn't dry up too fast at all. Not at all, really. It's honestly a concealer that just
works for mature skin. Now, even though it claims to have a full coverage, I feel like it's not full
in the sense where it's cakey or heavy. It's a very flexible formula and it doesn't cling to dry
patches. And that's what I love about it. It is so hydrating on your skin. I would say this stretches
over your skin rather than clings. It stretches over your skin really well. So a little goes a
long way. You can use it for under eyes, blemishes. Some people even use this as a foundation.
I would say this is like a smarter version of Tarte Shape Tape. So many women in their 40s or
above with mature skin have told me that they don't like Tarte Shape Tape, even though I love
that, that concealer, by the way, but they don't like it because it doesn't work for their skin
because it feels cakey to them and it dries too quickly and it clings to texture and it just sits
in fine lines. And that's fine. It's different for each person. But if that's the case for you,
this is going to be for you because this is a smarter version of that. It is like Tarte Shape
Tape, but more flexible, more stretchy on the skin and less cakey, less drying on the skin.
So it kind of moulds into your skin and it is just a beautiful formula. I would say this is
like Tarte Shape Tape's smarter, softer sister. That's the best way to put it. Next up, this
product. Wow. It is absolutely amazing. You go onto any forum or kind of like online discussion
board, whatever you want to call it, and everyone is talking about how amazing this concealer is
for people in their forties. If you want to, if you're happy to spend a little bit more because
that Too Faced concealer is not as expensive as this one, but that is going to be great for you.
But if you're happy to spend a little bit more and you want a little bit more luxury,
then go for this. This is the Westman Atelier Vital Skin Care Concealer. It's like a luxe
skin treatment in a concealer. This is honestly one of the most beautiful concealers I've ever
used. It's part skincare, part makeup, packed with vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, squalane is,
if that's how you say it, because I never know how to say that. So it hydrates and kind of gives you
that coverage at the same time. And it's also brightening. So if you continue to use this for
four weeks, like continuously, then apparently it's very brightening for your undry circles.
Now it's a very, I would say this is a very rich formula, but in a very flexible way. And again,
stretches really nicely on the skin. This is not heavy. This is not cakey. It does not dry or cling
to any dryness on the skin. It molds really well with fine lines and wrinkles. I think you're
going to absolutely love this. I would say it's perfect for more drier skin tone, skin types.
It never looks heavy or chalky on the skin. Very buttery, very smooth, blends perfectly.
I genuinely think you're going to love this. Now, what I will say is I would say this is
affordable. Let me check how much these are. Let me see what the difference is. From what I can see,
the Too Faced is $36 and the Westman Atelier is $48. That might be a little bit, that's just what
I've like literally just Googled right now. So there is a price difference there. But what I
would say is if you want an affordable version, go with this. If you're happy to spend the money,
then go with this, because it really depends on what you like. But they are very similar formulas,
but one is a little bit more luxe and the quality is a little bit better, but it's still very close
to the previous one that I mentioned. Now, if you love this whole list that I've gone through so far,
then you might like my other channel, which is my Beauty and Fashion channel.
And everything's listed in my description, so you can find it all there. But if you type in
Nina Ubi Beauty and Fashion channel, it will come up, but it's a mix of different reviews on there
for beauty and fashion. So I think you're going to love it. So you might want to head on over there.
Now, next up is this one here. This is the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter.
This I feel like was definitely made for anyone in their 40s. It's an underpainting must-have.
Let me explain. This is my go-to when I want a soft lip from within. I'm not going to say glow.
It's like this, it's just lip from within. That's it. It's not like glowy. Do you know what I mean?
It can be if you use it in a certain way, but it's not like shiny or like sparkly or shimmery.
It just is absolutely stunning. If you apply this all over your face after your skincare,
so after your primer, before your foundation, you are going to get the most stunning finish.
You're going to be like, wow, trust me. You're going to have people asking you about your skin.
Radiance is the word I was looking for, a lip from within radiance. That's what I was looking for.
No shimmer, no glitter, just radiance. Under your foundation, it adds depth, it adds dimension,
and it gives you that radiance that doesn't feel like you've added an extra product on top just to
get that. Your base ends up looking like healthy skin, not makeup. It genuinely does make your skin
look really healthy. If you want a bit more luminosity, then you can mix it in with your
foundation and then apply a foundation. You can use it in several different ways, or you could
tap it onto high peaks of your, the high parts of your face, like different areas, and you can get
more of a glow if you want it in certain areas. I like to use five for radiance and luminosity,
and six for a bronzed look, so really have a look at the different colors. Don't just think there's
one that's going to suit you. I feel like getting two is a really good idea because you can get
that really nice summery sun-kissed look, and you can also get that more radiant luminous look.
Okay, this next one is another one that I've recently come across, and I absolutely love it.
This is the Westman Italia Baby Cheeks Blush Stick. This is so good for people in their 40s.
It's probably the easiest blush that I have come across, and I know there are many other blush
sticks around, and you might think they're all the same, but this, the formula is like it's just made
for older skin because it doesn't grab hold of any texture. It doesn't sit in one place. It just
melts into the skin without looking overly glowy, so it isn't going to give you that shiny finish.
It really genuinely does look healthy on the skin. The color that I actually ordered was
Pop It, and it's a really nice hot pink, but it doesn't look like that on the skin. It looks very
healthy looking. So powder blushes can end up really aging you fast, and I feel like this
works really well if you are in your 40s. It melts into the skin seamlessly, and it's really
kind of diluted when you first apply it, so you don't have to end up getting that like punchy
immediately. You can definitely get it if you want, but what I love is that you can get a really soft,
barely there tint to the skin as well, so you get the best of both. It's a very kind of buildable
product. I personally like applying on the high parts of the cheekbones because I feel like you
get a nicer finish that way, and it's lifting. Next up is my makeup by Mario. I always forget
the name of this. Soft Sculpt Bronzing and Shaping Serum. So this is a great product for anyone in
their 40s. I feel like it's very kind of barely there, so it really does look like it's coming
from your skin and not a product that you've applied. I would say this is like a hybrid
bronzing, like a bronzer and a tint, and kind of skin perfecter. So it's kind of like a hybrid
product because it's not like that immediate bronze look that you get, but if you pick your
shade right, like this one here is my favourite one. This is light medium for my skin tone,
and it kind of like, I don't know if you can see that, it's so soft, like do you see what I mean?
Do you see what I mean by the like kind of skin perfecter? So it's very soft, and it's a stunning
finish that you get on your skin, and I really like it either to use kind of underneath, like
on my skin, like even if you use this on its own on your skin by the way, that might actually be
enough for you with a little bit of concealer in certain strategic places, because if you get the
right shade that isn't too dark for you, this can be a game changer for you, like and basically cut
out a lot of products as well. So powder bronzers can end up looking really heavy and chalk, not
chalky, but like clinging to texture and also enhancing like texture and fine lines on your
skin. So a cream bronzer and something like that which is kind of like this, it's like a serum gel
and it melts beautifully on the skin is going to be so much better for you. It just ends up melting
into your skin and looking like warmth, not makeup. You can use this with a large fluff brush if you want,
it melts in really beautifully so I don't feel like you're going to have any trouble with
application. I would personally apply this to like the perimeter of the face and then cheekbones here
underneath and then going under the kind of jawline and you'll see that you get a really nice
finish. Applying it in those areas and then using just a concealer which is very close to your actual
natural skin color is going to be a real good look for you. The next product is the Laura Mercier
Translucent Setting Powder but in Ultra Blur. This is a really good product for anyone in their 40s.
It's a finely milled setting powder but it has this kind of like soft focus finish to it.
So it is blurring, it genuinely is blurring and it works really well if you apply it with a brush. I
personally prefer applying it with a brush than a powder puff because I feel like with the brush
you compress it in and you get that nice soft focus finish. It's very seamless, again like I
very finely milled so it's perfect for anyone in their 40s because you're not going to get that
heaviness and that cakey look from it. It also is something that I feel like works really well at
brightening certain areas as well. So it's good at brightening the under eye area and anywhere that
you want that lift. I also love the fact that this does control shine but it doesn't completely kill
your glow. So you're not going to get that chalky finish from this and you're not going to get that
kind of like finish which ends up mattifying everything so much that you don't have any
radiance in your skin. If you like this video so far I think you're really going to love my online
magazine thebeautybreakfastclub.com. Head on over to it, check it out. It's literally like another
Grazia, Cosmo or Vogue. Honestly that's how it is. I have designed the entire thing myself. I don't
have a team. I'm doing it all myself. I write every article myself. Every two days there's a
new article, newsletter, whatever you want to call it. You are going to absolutely love it. There are
brand new makeup releases on there so you'll see, you'll find everything there first. Reviews,
best products for certain skin problems, great stuff for over 40s. There's also style on there,
wellness, mindset. Please head on over. It is free to subscribe which gives you access to the
occasional newsletter but if you go for the paid option, which by the way literally costs the same
as getting yourself one coffee every month and that's it, that's not only going to unlock the
entire site for you but you get to join the group chat on there. We've got over 6,000 people on this
at the moment. This has been going like for a while. I've had this platform for two years. I
genuinely love it and I've been seeing you guys and getting to know you guys over there because
in the group chat you guys ask your questions, I answer them too. So it's a really good way if you
have any questions to ask me directly. So I'd love to see you over there on the paid version.
The next product is something I feel like you know I've been using for so long and many years
is the Dior Lip Maximizer. I use 001. This isn't just a gloss, it's a lip care product and it
genuinely does work as that. It makes your lips look better, it makes your lipstick look better,
whatever you end up putting on your lips for the day. It is genuinely hydrating. I use this every
day once in the morning and I never have to reapply it and I've never dealt with dry cracking
lips from it. It's collagen infused so I feel like you do get that very natural plumpness that comes
through and it's not over the top. You don't get a tingling feeling, it's a very like a very good
product which isn't ridiculous you know. It hydrates your lips, it keeps them smooth all day and it is
the perfect lip base prep. My next product is the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray.
I'm obsessed with this. I've even got the other one which is the Matte Blur now which is also
really good if you have slightly oily skin but this is absolutely amazing. Not because I feel
like it sets my makeup because I don't feel like it is enough to set makeup. I use this to dampen
my beauty blender and it's a game changer. Like before I start blending my concealer I spray my
beauty blender with this and then I start blending my beauty blend... my concealer sorry and it mixes
perfectly, it blends perfectly. I also really love this to spray on top of my powder at the end once
I've set it with my setting powder because it stops everything from looking too powdery. So it
actually does melt the powder into the skin so it looks a bit more skin-like. It's one of the very
few setting sprays that I trust for mature skin. I don't rely on it like I said to set makeup, I rely
on it to kind of melt everything together. Honestly after your powder, one light mist all over and plus
it's really a fine mist which is good so you don't get that kind of droplets all over, it transforms
your kind of matte powdery makeup into skin-like, like a skin-like finish. It just basically ends
up making your face look polished and it's a really good kind of spray to keep in your bag.
They do a travel size as well just to kind of keep your skin quite hydrated through the day.
So those are all of my makeup products that I feel were truly made for anyone in their 40s.
The ones that work with your skin rather than against it and they're not headache, they're not
products that are going to kind of like be too much for you you know. Some products just end up
feeling and looking a little bit too much when you're in your 40s and these products I feel like
were made for you. You don't need to adjust them, they just work so well with your skin. I feel like
all of these products don't fight your texture fine lines or wrinkles, they actually work with it
to be able to just disguise them, you know, without looking heavy. I really do hope you've enjoyed
this. Don't forget everything is listed in my description so that you can click on the links
and head straight to it and I will see you on the next video.
