Thank you Home for inviting us to your house & plant fair :)
Good morning. I can't actually believe where I woke up.
Last night Sean, Irene and I went to Holm's house. I think house is an understatement. Holm is the
organizer of the Bangkok International Exotic Plant Show and Sale and he has invited us to stay
at his house. But last night when we arrived it was dark. So I only got little glimpses of how
incredible this house is which made me not sleep all night. I woke up at 4.30am, very very keen for
sunrise and I think we're officially here. And I can't wait to just browse through the house and
just kind of experience it in silence before everybody else wakes up. So we're gonna be
quiet today. And of course I want you to come and explore with me. Oh my god it's gonna be
crazy. Guys this is just the first house. There's one next door and a whole garden.
It's time to relieve the safety of the air conditioning. It is very hot and steamy despite
the fact that it is about 5, no maybe 6am. This is the view from my room. I mean if that's not
insane. So a little bit of background around the house while we start browsing. And you can learn
way more about the house and Holm and his philosophy to collecting plants in Sean's
video. Sean visited this place before and it was an incredible video. One of my favorites he's ever
produced. So I'll link that in the description. But basically there's three levels. Oh my god
I didn't see any of this last night. What the hell. We're gonna have so much fun here.
Look at this big monstera over there. That's crazy. Three levels over there. That's the top level.
Those are for the really sun-loving plants. So we're gonna go there as well but most likely not
the sort of plants that I usually grow. Then we've got this medium level over here and dice I suppose
other plants that I will put in my house as well. So that's the level I'm most excited about.
And then down below on the pool level it's the darkest. So we've got a few more shade loving
plants. But I also spotted a few grow lights last night. So I suppose might not be enough light
given that this middle story is doing so incredibly well. So let's get down there.
It was about a maybe 40 minute drive out of Bangkok. Look at that. Also beautiful artwork.
Okay so wasn't all too far of a drive. Wow look at that. That's crazy. I might not be able to put
all plant IDs on screen. I might just not know all of them. But I've also spotted a few tags
already. So I'm gonna go look for tags. Look at this. This must be. Maybe we can turn it into a
quiz. How many plants do I actually know? I think this one would be gigantum. Look at this leaf
unfurling over here. That is insane. And guys this is just the first house. Sean and Irina are
actually staying next door in a different house. It's a little clip from last night.
I'm very excited to go see that part as well. I think this is like a little effupremnum dwarf
and his poles are made out of felt. I've heard people use felt in Australia as well. But more
up in Queensland where it's subtropical. You don't need to water them. But obviously it's
so humid over here everything is moist regardless. So if you live in a really humid place
go for it. Also a little disclaimer in case you're wondering why I sound weird.
We had a big night in Bangkok and I lost my voice a little bit. But maybe we just sell it as like an
ASMR tour instead. This must be patriciae. Again you can really see how the plant loves to root
into the felt. So the walls are also felt. Very smart thinking. I like that. I don't know
which way to go but maybe we go clockwise. Wow I think this is more overwhelming than
the fear. Now I do believe just looking at the plants I do believe that they're actually dealing
with too much light in here. Too much heat. We're seeing a little bit of bleaching of leaves. Maybe
it's variegation to be honest. Wow. I also want to get closer to this one. But this one is
Oblique Species Orizaba. Okay. Interesting. Never heard of it. Looks amazing. And it looks like
everything is done by irrigation as well. Another Monstera over here. I like this. Kind of like a
mix between Adansonii and a Skeletor. It looks a little bit like a medium but it must be a juvenile
medium maybe. No. I think it belongs to this one. And this one looks more like an Epipremnum. Maybe
it's a Marble Epipremnum. I think it's a little bit too much light for some of these plants to
really get the full size. Paraiso Verde. Definitely no issues with temperatures over here. Keeps the
variegation. The Marble. Actually I think I saw one sold in Australia. After this trip I have to
get my hands on it. Monstera or Leschleria. I love this. I love how wild it is. It's obviously all
planted but it's not manicured to be honest. I think I need to film this way because I'm too
close to the plant to really see them. They're too big. It's okay. We have half a day to film
Buckle up. We're in for a treat. Okay look at this.
Might not be a Florida Beauty but definitely a Florida Beauty hybrid.
I've seen many Florida Beauty hybrids over here actually and at the fair as well. Seems to be a
really really popular one to make hybrids with. So the other house that Irene and Sean are staying
in has a little courtyard. Look at her. And it seems to be more protected. Even protected from
the rain because I think they would have too much rain at times for Monsteras.
That's a beautiful variegation on this Hermitium and they are in like perfect conditions up there
so I'm really excited to go visit them but I don't want to wake them up. Almost fully white Monstera.
Have a look at the stem but you also notice it hardly has any leaves left.
I think all that variegation is not doing well with the super super high humidity and hot
temperatures here. At least as I mean he says as he sees fully white leaves that are perfect.
The humidity in here is crazy. I reckon the pool doesn't help. This one looks like some sort of
Oblika. Anyway coming back to Sean's video as well. In the video he's actually interviewing
Hoym as well. I don't think we'll have time to do that today or I don't think he'll have time to
do that today. But I highly recommend checking that out. Obviously after you finish this video
then you can learn a little bit more about his philosophy to collecting plants and how he built
this house. Shvonii is doing well in here. Another Epipremnum. I really enjoy Epipremnums and some
of them are native to Australia as well. Okay so it was not sunbleached. I think this is variegation
no? Yes I mean this looks very much variegation. From far away it looked a bit sunbleached.
There must be a Burlemarks Flame. I don't think I've ever actually touched one.
I'm assuming it's okay for me to touch them. Sorry if not. But how can I possibly not touch them?
It's a jungle. It needs to be a sensory experience or senses. These plants grow and then start
growing roots and runners towards the pool but significantly decreasing in
leaf size as we're approaching. You can see down there that's the bottom layer much much darker.
I'm actually really excited for that as well. Okay let's keep going. More marbled Epipremnums.
That is amazing. This must be Gigantum right? I think. I mean it looks gigantic.
Oh and now we can see all of these over there. Yeah this one's reverting and the fully
white leaves are not doing well in this environment. It's too much. I think also
we should really turn on these fans. It was very interesting in the talk show yesterday.
Sean was saying that he thinks that a lot of people underestimate airflow and I highly
highly agree with that. Airflow is so important for plants health especially if they're variegated.
I think that will help keep the variegation more pristine because this super super high
humidity in combination with the heat and then potentially even the sun can be tricky. That is
beautiful variegation. I have no idea what this is but look how stunning the colors are
and the sun is really coming out now. That is beautiful variegation. I've never seen this.
Could be a Ruffalo 4, could be an Epipremnum. That's very pretty and look everything just
climbs up the railing, the walls, everything. With those conditions you don't need to try
that hard like I do. I need to try so hard at home you know because I'm trying to cheat nature
whereas over here home can really just work with nature. My voice is so croaky.
I don't know. I hope you guys enjoy that ASMR style. I just don't want to wake anybody up.
Look at these. I do really enjoy thermometer films. They've had a bunch of really nice thermometer
films over here at their show. I think very underrated plant. That is beautiful. Look at
the different shades of variegation in here. Damn guys I can't give you any ideas.
I can give you guesses. It's a Philodendron. I have no idea what sort of Philodendron but I would
absolutely love this actually. I don't have any of these tricolor variegation
in my collection. I like this yellow, white, green and then you know it gives you all of the
shades of lime and all of that. Look at that. That is beautiful. I feel like I should know this ID
but I don't. Look at the Staghorn or Elkhorn. Still like some things my brain just can't remember.
That's one of them. Okay that's interesting. So over here we've got another Burlemarks.
It's not doing as well as the Burlemarks we saw on this wall over there somewhere and in general
I think this side of the wall is doing a bit better than this one. So well I think this is
east. Yeah the sun is rising up there. Okay so yeah. Look at this one. This is very interesting.
That is insane. That is insane. Okay so beautiful. I wanted to get closer to this Monstera.
Oh hang on. Look the non-variegated ones are doing really really well in here. It's a
really good. Oh hang on. This one is another. How many flames does he have? And another one.
Oh here's another one. Oh my god. In Australia there's still such a rarity.
Over here they've replaced the Deliciosa. And another one. And another one. I'm like
one Burlemarks flame away from being DJ Khaled. Okay this is pretty crazy. This is somebody's
house you know. Like this is not a museum. And I also lost my train of thought. I was saying
something but probably not important. I will probably lose my train of thought many times
because this is incredible. Okay so this is the walkway that we walked through yesterday
and I had to push my suitcase through this and I felt so bad. It's like move aside variegated
which is also still quite rare in Australia. Okay now I wanted to get to this Monstera over there.
Let me try my new lens. Okay iPhone 16 coming through. Not bad huh. Yes it's quite nice. It
doesn't get super super large actually. I really like the style of this house because it's very
concrete, steel and glass. Like very modern in a way but then turned into a full-on jungle.
Giving me Tomb Raider vibes. Wow look at this. A bunch of patios. Okay this is where we came
from. This was that first wall of Mospaul. Like Feldpauls. Let's oh another Shuron here.
I also like that he's trying the same plants in multiple spots to see what works best. Another
epipremnum I'm assuming. Monstera oblica complex. I think it's this one. It snapped. It wasn't me for
the record. Look at this. It's quite nice. I like this form of Monstera oblica. It looks very similar
to the Indonesian marble that I have just without the deformation. This is the kind of frustrations
I was hoping to get out of my marbled one. But yeah the variegation didn't help it. So I actually
really enjoyed it. It's just green. Amplicimum plimbis. I think maybe. Honestly this whole
trip has been such a humbling experience. You know when I say in the grand scheme of things
I know very little about plants. Yeah like very very little actually. I think I probably knew like
two percent of the plants at that show. And that's still it was mainly aeroids. In the grand scheme
of things even the people that knew every single plant at that show like Sean he knows so much
about plants and all the varieties that are out there these days. He still knows very little in
the grand scheme of things when we're talking about the plants in the wild in the jungle and
so on. Think about like even like aquatic plants and so on. It's a never-ending hobby.
Okay then we have another oblique. Okay Bacari. Okay I would love to know what this looks like
when it grows up. And over here another. It looks similar to that previous one. But look at it.
This one's even in bloom. So this must be its mature form then. It's kind of cute. It works for
this space because it's quite narrow right. Nice. And then this one's a Patricio. Wow.
You can also see that it's actually decreasing with leaf size a little bit. I mean look at these
leaves before. Now it's getting a little bit smaller. I think that it's because it's coming
away from the support. So another good example that the support does not need to be a moss pole.
The support in itself can be anything and it will be true to nature and the plant will mature.
A moss pole is just an additional propagation tool. Another one with this kind of tricolor
variegation. Very very beautiful. And I do love this green marble. That I noticed last night.
Over here we've got more plus more staghorns. They're beautiful because they're trailing down
giving you this really nice canopy over the pool. Alrighty let's go to the bottom floor
and let's check out the more shade loving plants. Cannot wait to go for a dip in this pool.
And here we can really see all of these plants from above starting to trail down. I mean this
is just insane. Homer is also a collector of other things. He collects gemstones and art.
So we'll see that throughout as well but we're going to focus on the plants today. Beautiful.
I really like this. I think I need to learn a little bit more about. I don't, I can't even
pronounce the latin name. Placere, Placere. Sean keeps saying it now. It's like my brain hasn't
comprehended the letters yet. But they actually work so well here and I can now actually see the
difference between them a little bit as well. Like this one's more straight. This one's more curly.
Very scientific explanation. And then look at this. I'm assuming it's a Florida beauty or maybe
a variegated pedidium. Just trailing down there but again losing size. I wonder what this big
leaf is. We need to go back up and check on that one. Over here this is also very interesting.
Tassel ferns. I always find tassel ferns weird because to me they look like pine trees or they're
reminding me of pine trees. So they weren't really giving me the tropical vibe that I was
envisioning for my life. But seeing them here in this environment amongst all the other plants
rather than just one sad little strand hanging off a pot somewhere in my bathroom. It works.
That is actually stunning. Would be great as a hanging plant in my greenhouse. I don't know if
they would like Sydney. I know Queensland has a lot of tassel fern growers.
Maybe I'll check with AJ. That is beautiful variegation. No idea what it is but I like it.
Again it's like these all sorts of shades of green. Look at that. All within just one leaf.
This is maybe a homolumina. Could be a philodendron. Probably a philodendron.
Sometimes they can look a bit similar. Another epipremnum. I feel like epipremnum is such a
cool genus and often it's just like oh yeah pothos. It's like there's so much more to it
than just pothos. Okay look at that. Scandinae. I killed this one. You can see there are some
grow lights here. So it must not get enough light to really thrive. I think this is again
also last night. I saw a bunch of variegated palms outside. I really hope this ASMR thing
is not going to be annoying. I'll just put music on it. Oh look at this. Is it a medium
or epipremnum one of them? I would guess a medium but it doesn't have the texture.
But mediums love running away so that would make sense. But look at this. It found the pool
and then just grow lights along the edge of the pool. Now obviously way too much water for the
white parts. They just die. And look at these roots. Crazy. You do not need a moss pile if you
have roots like that. But if you would have moss piles they would probably never ever dry out. Wow
look at that. I cannot wait to swim in this pool. I kind of really like this. There's also a few
humble plants. You know like these kind of normal anthuriums. But they look beautiful.
Add a really nice pop of color. And they're like all across the border over there. It's a really
nice pop of color. But then also some calatheas over here. Some ugly anemones. I mean of course
this one's also variegated. But you know somewhat humble plants. Harmonomina. Maybe freckle is it?
Because you're trying to create a jungle. Not every plant needs to be like ultra super rare.
That's more thing for like a statement piece. Like one artwork. But when you create a jungle
the basics can add so much texture and interest. I really like this. I just never had luck with
this because it's a crazy spider mite magnet. But maybe maybe I should try one in the garden.
Again you can see it's getting so small as it trails. Also probably the lack of light over here.
This one's also really beautiful. I love this. Wow like guys if I could take if I could import
plants to Australia I'm sure he would just let me take a few cuttings. Look at it. It's already
air layered. Literally in the air. Honestly I think I could take like hundreds of cuttings.
Nobody would even know it. Of course I would never do that without asking somebody's house.
I would feel terrible if somebody would come to my house and do that. I would be so pissed off.
But I'm sure he'd say yes because he has plenty and they keep growing right. They must just
at some stage have to chop things off. I'm surprised. I think he has a nursery as well. So
maybe he just chops things from his private collection and then puts them into production
at a nursery. I'm not too sure. Anyway let's go upstairs to the third level of this house
with the to have a look at the. Oh hang on. This is beautiful. This must be the one trailing down
there as well. Yeah it all comes from the same. Look at this tiny stem that then splits. One is
getting thicker and climbing and growing much larger leaves over here. Can you see all that?
I'm so close. It's quite narrow. And the other one's trailing down and getting much much smaller
but more variegated which has nothing to do with the trailing. Oh and this is the big leaf. It
looks like some anthurium. That's pretty. Is it this one? Yes. One more. Oh my god it's so big.
Don't want to break it. This could be my favorite leaf so far because it has nice elongation,
amazing shapes and it's a climber. Let's find out what that is. Oh no it has no label.
Okay no label. But I think I mean we don't need to choose a favorite but I think so far
this might be my favorite. Yes I like this one better than a half moon.
Anyway let's go upstairs to the top level before it gets too hot. Maybe there's some air flow up
there. That would be fabulous. We started at the middle floor. We went to the bottom floor
and let's go up to the top floor and out there and then we can go outside.
Wow variegated zizi. I saw so many variegated zizis at that show.
It's like so normal for them. Like for us the normal zizi plant. That is so beautiful. Look at
that. Must be a euphorbia. So you can really see the type of plant is changing. We've got more
caudex plants now. Jungle cacti. Wow the sun is looking so good.
More caudex. Yeah you know all of these plants. I think it's going to be more visually pleasing
and I'm probably just going to say wow a lot. Certainly even less accurate guesses coming for me
on this level. But look at the air plants. Wow and this is a good pen. Oh my god.
But no velvets. I haven't seen anything velvet so far. Oh I saw I think outside there's some
velvet anthuriums. Okay wow. Okay we just need to quietly appreciate these I think
without me talking ----. So this is the top level up here and we've got some sun loving plants.
To my surprise there's actually more than I there's actually a few that I recognize.
Specifically alocasias. Weird. I would have put the alocasias on that second level. I know they
don't mind light. But I think we could get bigger leaves out of them on the second level.
But who am I to judge. I think I'm coming from the wrong side. So let me start at the other end
because all the plants seem to be facing this way. Guys everything over there that's under shade
cover is more plants. See that roof in the back behind the house we were just in? That's another
house with more plants. I would be so happy with like a tenth of this. Anyway let's have a look.
This was actually the first plant I saw when we walked in yesterday. This is the
I think sort of must be Stephania right? But the big codex plants obviously loving the
conditions up here. Wow man I'm not too sure what all of this is but I think we can just
appreciate the beauty. I'm pretty sure in Sean's video. Sean is much better with IDs. If that's of
interest go check out Sean's video. There's just way too many plants and I have way too little
knowledge. How do you guys know? I just like to look at things and appreciate. I want to appreciate
it as a collection and as a almost like art installation I suppose. Rather than just giving
everything a name. Nature doesn't care. Hoyas. Okay let's go in with an open mind because I think
like this. Look at this Hoyas just growing wild. This one is Hoyakeria even I know that one. Look at me go.
Look at them in bloom. They would be stunning. They would be hanging.
Oh and a variegated one there. I think integrated like that kind of trailing around
nestling into the garden beds. They look good. Like I have no issues with that. And they're
really well looked after and they're really lush. So yeah I can get behind this but I don't
really know how I would work with them in my collection. I have one potential idea where
I should just give this a try to give them a chance. Anyway we'll find out. Maybe 2026 projects.
Get some Hoyas. Okay me oh my god. Not a stranger to changing my mind quite clearly.
What's next? Snake plants? Never. Okay I'm sorry. It's interesting that we have the philodendron
over here. I think this is I don't think this is light. This is fungal. Sorry like I think too
much humidity. Maybe it's been dripping on it or something like that. It's interesting to see that
amongst the other most sun loving plants over here. Looks like some sort of emergency procedure
was performed over here to counteract rot. And of course over here it looks like we have
a lot of propagation. It's beautiful. A lot of work goes in here. I think this down below
like it's it's it's a nursery right. It's not the nursery. It's just attached to the house.
So there's people working here as well. So it's not just him looking after the plants.
I mean it's incredible. Like nobody could look after a collection like that all by himself and
run a business on top of that. Beautiful sisi. Black sisi. Very large. It looks very nice.
Okay. Very very beautiful. But I do think it might be a bit too much light for them because
they're not really like you know they're really protecting themselves from the lights here. They're
growing really close together and sort of spreading out. I think it's a mechanism to
protect themselves from the light. But it's obviously growing and it's healthy.
This is quite nice as well. And a variegated ponytail palm. Probably not. What is it?
And another variegated sisi. And a stem. This house is such a labyrinth. When we arrived
late last night we were taken up this elevator. I'm a little bit scared but it's the only way
I know of getting down. I don't know how else to get down. So we got to do that. Look at that
little monstera leaf popping out from there. Again this is the pool house and then there's
another house down there. And is this a breadfruit tree? I think so, right?
And this over there is a variegated bismarck palm. Crazy. Oh there's airflow out here. Pleasant. Okay
let's go. Well let's at least enjoy the journey while we're here. So down there is kind of the
nursery. I thought I had a lot of plants but the whole Bangkok experience made me realize that I
don't have many plants. I'm very selective with my plants. I'm very limited with my space. My
knowledge is not much. For a normal houseplant grower I have a lot of plants of course but for
plant people I think I don't have that many plants. But what I do really well is grow them really well
I have to say. I'm really proud of my skills as a plant grower. Oh my god it was really good talking
to you made me forget about the elevator ride. I almost wanted to be longer. Let's have a look at
this. That is crazy. The variegated bismarck palm. Look I don't know if it looks better because it
has variegation. I don't know if it was purchased as a variegated bismarck palm. All I know is that it
would have been purchased a long time ago. Wow look at this. We do have a label and we have prices. So
I think this is the nursery part. Keep in mind everything is in baht not dollars. So prices will
look crazy crazy. Okay so this I think is the nursery part. But I was thinking maybe we just go
to the second house. So we've done all of the house parts and then we need to be quiet because
people are asleep over there. Oh my god it smells so good here. Maybe a plomania but no silver.
Maybe the columbian species. Lots and lots of lichuanas. And sorry guys if I skip over a plant
that you really wanted to see in a little bit more detail. It's just so many. Must be an amedrium
right? It's got to be. Look at this variegated epipernum pernardum climbing up the tree.
So over there is a cafe and there's another kind of greenhouse there. Holy ----.
And there seems to be that seems to be the water reservoir down below.
So the whole house is kind of all built on top of the water reservoir.
Definitely got enough water which is important because we got a lot of plants to look after.
Okay so these are like the best of the best plants. This is where the conditions are
absolutely optimized. And Irene's bedroom is there. Hi Irene. When you watch this. If you watch this.
Oh hang on. It's more important. Hello baby. Come here.
Timmy told me I'm not allowed to touch any of the cats. But you're so sweet. Well maybe the
cat can touch me. Would you like to touch me? I don't think you're allowed in here.
I think you're the reason why there's a door. Okay. All right darling I'm gonna go see the
Wow. Sean uploaded a video from the from up there. It looks so stunning from above.
But they're sleeping so it's okay. We'll go there later. Okay this is crazy.
Oh no. Is it very good? No this is dirt. I've spotted spidermans. Okay you know what? That
makes me feel good about myself. Makes me feel good about myself knowing that you know what?
Everybody deals with this. Wow wow wow.
I love this. Again the tricolor. That's really cool. Really really cool. Must be an epipremnum.
Hang on. I think this is what it started off with. This one. Then must be. We shot many times.
It's like an actual jungle. You have to squeeze through the monstera. I mean this is insane.
I have seen so many huge variegated monsteras. I'm kind of desensitized.
But I shouldn't be. This is incredible. Look at this. You can see it. Much more shaded over here
because it's not so open. There's a house on either side. So the pool house is behind this
wall. So much more shaded and they seem to be doing better with all the shading. Look at this.
I think I need to switch to a different lens. Hang on. Okay the quality might not be as good
but I think we get a better scale of things. This is crazy. Okay have a look at this. I like
this. So they just have a felt pole over here. But they just kind of wrap moss around the root
system. So you still get the benefit of the moss. You just don't have a traditional pole.
I suppose they don't need their setup to be movable right. It would be very hard. Like you
can't move this. The plants were planted in the ground. Whereas I want my plants to be movable
because I'm a renter. I don't have a permanent setup. I want my plants to come with me if I
have to move. I don't think I can go past this. Maybe. I don't know. Guys I don't. Look at it
compared to my hand. Crazy. And then up here. I really like this piper. Ouch that had spikes.
I really like this piper in the background down there. Okay let's try and squeeze past it without
hurting the plant or hurting myself. Look at this moss construction over here.
Like all of these roots would just be throughout here. Look at this billy.
Just insane. From here you can maybe see it a little bit better. Crazy.
Love the orange patios here. Look at the size of all of these. The wide angle does not do it justice.
Tomato film. I got a nice mint.
I love it when it does this. Like layover.
Okay crazy. Okay and of course we haven't even really looked at the understory yet.
Have you been waiting for me? Baby you've been waiting for me. Thank you so much.
Yes. Are you wild or do you belong to the house? Come on. Come with me.
Oh what is this? That's beautiful. Come on girl. Yes. Oh my god you have the cutest little meow.
Come on. Yes. Look I'm the cat whisperer. I'm making friends.
I want to come on a tour together. We haven't seen the nursery yet. Do you want to show us the way?
No. Okay. Now that is a proper jungle tiger. Bradley if you're watching get your ---- together.
Actually I feel like the thing that's holding Brad back is my jungle at this stage. We say goodbye
but I'm sure we see each other later yeah. Anyway let's go to the nursery part and that should then
end our tour of this house. But I'm still here for many many hours to come. So I'll take a little bit
more footage and include it in my overall Bangkok vlog. And we're also going to film for Irene and
Sean's channel as well. So there's going to be plenty of content. I'll link their accounts down
below as well. Please please check them out. I'm sure you know them already anyway. But they're
amazing creators and they're great people on top of that as well. And yeah if it wasn't for them
I wouldn't be here in the first place. So thank you guys. But yeah let's have a look at the nursery
now. I think there's going to be some goodies here. I think we kind of started over here and
then decided to not continue with the nursery. So let's just keep going from here. More variegated
I'll switch again. There you go the billies.
Okay guys I'm actually like I'm actually bleeding from that
stem. Look at that. Turns out plant YouTube is actually very dangerous.
Okay very beautiful. Some Schefflera. Also very surprising there's not that many mozzies around.
Like I have more mozzies in my garden. Okay now we can see all of this a little bit better.
So that is the little elevator that we took. And then this over there is the greenhouse.
Like with the pool. And then remember when I said everything under the shade cover.
Yeah now we're under that shade cover. No way. Look at this. I mean I feel like I should know
what this is. But well I know what this is. That's sexy. But I should know its name. But
that's okay. People also don't know my name. Everybody still thinks my name is Sydney.
Even though Sean is doing great at trying to break the news to people. People still all
think my name is Sydney. But look honestly I don't mind. I don't care. Like I don't care about that.
But then please also don't care that I don't know all of the plant names.
This must be in a Skeletor. Come on.
No. But I also know there's different forms of a Skeletor and all sorts.
Hang on. Is this it? Here we go. That is a velvet plant.
This must be a Splendid no? Yeah something familiar. And that's definitely in a Skeletor.
I mean by definitely I mean I think.
Big Red Congo over there. I think.
Camellias. Lots of Anthuriums.
Cycads. I don't know where to look but how gorgeous is it with the sunrise coming in.
Oh my god. Where do I start? What? What is going on?
There it is. It's beautiful. I think we're just gonna take a really really slow walk
and watch the flowers. Okay this has got to be Monstera Peru right?
They're also not sizing it up at all. It's getting smaller as it climbs. Okay that is the
confirmation that I needed in life to know that I'm never gonna try that plant again as a climber.
I converted mine as a crawler. Looks like that was a good decision.
It looks good but I think it's a bit of an acquired taste because it does look like it had
a little bit fungal maybe or bacterial. This is beautiful. Morning. Wow guys I found the velvets.
Look at that. This is a whole wall full of Anthuriums. It looks like fairly newish
planted. A new project. I love that. So the wall is rocks. I think they just stacked rocks
to the surface of it and then there's little moss pockets and the moss pockets have the Anthuriums.
But you can see it's quite shady over here right? We've got a roof over here. This is actually a
bathroom and then we've got the actual shade cover above and then we've got a bit of an upper store.
Oh my god I didn't even look at all of this yet. Wow. A bit of an upper store with these
elevated baskets. See they're kind of elevated. So it's quite dark like that's why they make
such great houseplants because they don't need that much light. Look at this. The sheen. Must be
a puppy habit. Every single one looks so healthy. Wow. Again something to appreciate as a collection.
I could use some pulley blah blah blah blah blah. Like imagine this is your shopping experience
when you go shopping. See I told you it's the toilets. This is your shopping experience when
you go plant shopping in Thailand. No offense. Slightly better than a trip to Bunnings.
But aged as well for her surface though given our
constraints. I do love the cloister sinus ones. Finally something familiar. This must be
pasta I think. Doesn't have to be a pasta but most likely a pasta. A variegated fern.
Let me back up a bit like this so you can appreciate it a little bit better.
The VGIA isn't doing well here either. That gives me so much hope. Well not hope. Confirmation.
Some luxe hybrids. This one looks stunning. I like this.
What the hell. Like it doesn't stop does it? Oh my god now we have like a whole waterfall here.
Hang on. Oh and I love these shingling ones. Something with K right?
I think a raffitafora. Maybe. And then the third side of the toilet is also full of anthuriums.
I really like this dark one down there. Very beautiful. Would love to see what this looks
like in a couple of years time. Ah probably doesn't even need a couple of years here.
Cryptosperma. Look at that. That's insane. I'm just throwing names out there by the way. They
could slightly be wrong you know. Just so you know. Okay here we're heading back to that variegated
bismarck palm. Let's quickly explore this but I also feel bad just walking around while everybody's
asleep. God it doesn't stop. Okay let's go back to that variegated bismarck palm.
This house has so many layers. It's crazy.
Yes it's with some variegated stefania. These are definitely like the odd plants.
But let's focus on the airbags. That's nice. Nice variegation.
Some slightly thicker poles there. Oh my god it keeps going around the corner.
Oh my god it smells so good here as well. Like lemony. That's super cute.
Okay let's head back to where we all started and then we can wrap up the video over there.
So that was crazy and those were my unfiltered first impressions as well. I mean we walked
through it to get to the room last night and I had a bit of a look. Of course you know we were like
with the iphone torch and everything but it's not the same at night. Of course you need light
to see the plants. Plants always look best in daylight. I'm also getting sweaty so it's time
to go back to the air-conditioned room. Quite clearly this house was designed with plants in
mind. Plants and humans. I mean like this whole second level down below me is basically just for
plants and I absolutely love that. Plants were not an afterthought. Plants were certainly a
priority when it came to building this place and obviously also maintaining this place. So it's
really nice to see how passionate people are about plants and it's a really humbling experience as
well to realize that you know at the end of the day I've probably just really scratched the surface.
So it's exciting to see that there's so much more room to grow, pun intended, with and in this
hobby. So yeah I wonder what my life looks like in like 20 years time. I don't think it would be
impossible to ever have a house like this in Sydney to be honest. This date is impossible to
buy a garage in Sydney but one can dream right? I mean dreaming is half the fun. So anyway on that
note maybe it would be good for you to give this video a thumbs up. Let's get this video to get
lots and lots of views so that I'm at least a little bit closer to my own dream house. And of
course make sure you subscribe to my channel as well. Also a big thank you to Holm for opening
your house to me and letting me stay here and film. He mainly does Facebook so I'll link his
Facebook down below so please check that out. He runs events throughout Southeast Asia all the time
so if you're a plant lover I think it is definitely worthwhile checking out one of his shows
and I'll leave all of the information down below in the description. Please also check out Sean
and Irene and their channels and there'll be more videos about this house coming up on their channel
and there's going to be more videos on my channel as well. I'm not too sure exactly which sequence
they'll be released. I suppose editing Jan will be a little bit smarter but ultimately over the
next couple of weeks or the last couple of weeks and so on there's going to be a bunch of really
cool planty Bangkok content coming your way. Thank you for coming along and hopefully I'll
see you very soon. Bye!
