In today's video, I make DIY fish traps out of giant bottles! I placed the traps in a new tiny creek and was surprised at all the fish I caught, platys, swordtails, plecos, crawfish, and an unknown fish that looks like a freshwater stingray, then I brought them all back to my house to keep as pets!

We're going to attempt to make fish traps out of these bottles.
Let's see if we can do it. Oh my gosh. Those look so good.
I just caught an Oscar with the net. I netted him and Oh my God.
Look how many fish we caught, dude. It looks like a stingray.
What is he doing? Those are sick.
What is up BFB nation. Welcome back to another awesome video guys.
We're sitting in front of Walmart right now because we're going to head in there
and try and find something to make a fish trap out of.
We're doing a little DIY fish trap today.
We're also heading to a new spot I've never been to.
We're going to place a trap, see what we can get.
So, yeah,
let's head in Walmart and see if we can find something to make a fish trap out of.
What the heck is that?
This is perfect guys. Dude, this is freaking perfect.
All right, we're getting this. All right, guys, we have made it to the spots.
I got our two fish traps.
They're like two giant Coca-Cola bottles.
I don't even know what they're used for.
Who would buy these other than to make a fish trap?
Let's see here. It's a bottle bank.
So you put like coins in here.
So I guess it's like a little piggy bank,
but in a shape of a big Coca-Cola bottle.
Well, I do know it'll probably make a good fish trap.
So I got two of them.
We have a yellow one and we have a orange one.
Dude, these things are freaking huge too.
When I saw these, I was like, oh my gosh, that's perfect.
Because bottle traps, my only issue with bottle traps is because,
you know, when you cut them in half to make the trap, they're usually very small.
They don't leave a lot of space for fish to, you know, swim in there.
So these are freaking perfect, dude.
We're going to have big holes.
We're going to figure out how to make a fish trap out of them.
We did just arrive here at the spot. So let's go check it out.
I've never put a fish trap here.
I've been here once and that was a long time ago.
And that was to fish that golf course on the other side.
I had to cross this to get there.
So I didn't look for any fish in here and I didn't see any fish.
I wasn't really looking.
And the other day I remembered that.
I was like, oh my gosh, that was a really cool spot.
Why not go check it out?
So we're here and I have a very good feeling there's some cool fish in here.
And I'll tell you why.
Spots like these, OK, very tiny, shallow
and narrow, little tiny ditches, creeks, if you will.
Those are usually what hold aquarium fish.
Now, that is because predatory fish like bass, snakeheads,
they can't live in here because it's too shallow, too narrow.
So that leaves a perfect habitat for little tiny bait fish,
little tiny community fish that people let go.
Like, look at this.
Let's get down here and get a good look.
Look how cool this is.
Now, it is very fast moving water right here.
So I do see fish down there.
I actually do see a good amount of fish.
There's a little fish.
Wow. This is really cool.
One, it's very shallow and narrow.
Two, it is right next to let me try and get a shot.
A bunch of stores.
And at the very end, way down there, there is a PetSmart.
Yeah, that's basically what you want to look for
when you're trying to find spots.
I know you guys are always like, how do you find these spots?
That's usually how I do it.
I find very tiny ditches that you can't even see on Google Maps.
They don't even come up as bodies of water.
These are literally just tiny little runoff canals.
If you see one of these next to some houses right behind them or some stores,
a public place where people can just, you know, park right there,
come out here, dump them off or go to their backyard, dump them off.
That's like the best bet,
the best guess you can have on finding cool aquarium fish.
Oh, my God. I just had I just had a heart attack.
I'm not even kidding, guys.
Is that real?
Oh, Jesus. Oh, oh, my God, it's fake.
Oh, who would do that?
OK, guys, now we're going to attempt to make fish traps out of these bottles.
Let's see if we can do it.
I'm thinking we'd go the normal bottle fish trap route where we cut
like right here, flip it around, put it back inside.
We're going to try that out and see if it works.
OK. There we have it.
Now we do that.
Oh, dude, that's money.
Oh, that is so good.
Now we're going to secure it into place by putting hooks through it
and then we should be finished.
Well, after about 30 minutes, guys, both traps are ready.
Take a look at them.
Yo, they came out really well.
Like, look at these, dude.
Oh, my gosh, those look so good.
So the fish swim in through there and then they cannot get out
because they are freaking stupid.
Here's the other one. This one looks a lot better.
I did a much better job with this one.
I cut a little bit too far in that one, but it's fine.
They'll both still work.
These just look so freaking cool.
Oh, my gosh.
I got some hooks.
These were this.
That was the hardest part was putting the hooks through this plastic, dude.
Let's go place them into the water and then see.
See if we can catch us some fish.
Let's pour a little bit of cat food in each trap.
There we go.
There we go. That should be good.
You have no idea what I just went through.
To get these traps placed.
Please go down there and hit the like button for me.
We got the traps placed, though.
I had to go find some rocks to keep them down.
So they should be good now.
They shouldn't float off.
We got one there.
And then you can see it is right over there.
Right by that pipe.
There it is.
But yeah, guys, I'm very excited.
This is a new spot for us.
Possibilities are endless.
Hopefully we get something cool.
I'll see you in about four hours when I come back here and check the traps.
So, yeah, guys, I'll see you then.
Little intermission.
The traps, the bottle traps are placed right now.
I just went to my local creek very close to my house.
The one we film a lot of videos at.
I was on the other side of this netting around, trying to catch bait fish,
little mosquito fish to feed my gar because he only eats mosquito fish.
So and I saw a big fish up in the weeds up against the bank.
I thought it was a Mayan cichlid because I saw the red dot on him.
And oh, my God, I'm freaking speechless right now, guys.
It was an Oscar.
I just caught an Oscar with the net.
I netted him and oh, my God, dude, it's a freaking Oscar.
Oh, Jesus.
OK, someone had to have dumped him there.
Like I'm telling you guys, OK, you guys are probably like, what do you mean?
We see you catch Oscars all the time.
The thing is, guys, I catch Oscars like an hour and a half away
from where I'm at right now.
None of that stuff connects to where I'm at in this canal.
For me to have caught an Oscar here, that's like the first ever Oscar
found and caught in this area.
That that's what's so crazy about this, guys.
Dude, someone had to have just dumped him there.
I don't know what to do.
Look, you can see it looks like he was in an aquarium.
He's got some some stuff nipping at his tail.
OK, we're going to bring him to Pond X, I guess.
We're here at Pond X.
Ah, OK. You're you're feisty.
You're a little feisty guy.
Look at the Oscar.
I am so confused right now.
All right. There you go.
Well, another Oscar in the pond, I guess.
We just made a video putting 15 Oscars in here from the Everglades
that we did catch.
But like I said, that was like an hour and a half away.
And that's the closest spot to catch Oscars from me.
I'm going to get some food
and then we're going to head to the fish trap spot.
Check our fish traps.
What an interesting day this is.
All right, guys, we've made it to the spot.
I'm just happy that they're still like submerged.
There's the orange one over there.
There's the green one.
Yeah, we got fish.
Oh, oh, my God. What was that?
Oh, this is so sick.
All right.
Oh, look at all the fish.
Look at all of them.
All right. Oh, that's so sick.
Oh, oh, oh, I want to get a peek, dude.
I want to look at them so bad.
We got some really cool stuff in there, dude. Holy crap.
We caught so many fish.
Oh, Jesus.
Dude, these traps are freaking loaded with fish.
Look at that.
All right, guys, we got the bottles.
Here we go. We got everything.
I kind of want to get I kind of want to move everything to the truck
because this is like super freaking loud.
Look how many fish we caught, dude.
This is so sick.
It's like their own little aquariums, too.
Oh, Dalmatian.
Got a little Dalmatian.
Oh, my God.
Look at that.
That's a baby pleco.
Look at the baby pleco.
He's so tiny.
Wait, what was that?
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God. Look, look, look, look.
That was a swordtail.
Holy crap. Look at the swordtail.
Guys, look at this.
There's two of them.
Where did they go? What are those?
Oh, I need to figure out how to.
Oh, look at that.
Oh, oh, oh, another.
What is that?
It looks like a stingray.
Look at this.
Oh, my gosh.
Um, guys, what the heck is that?
I'm kind of freaking out right now.
What is that?
That looks like a freaking stingray, dude.
Look at that.
That's a stingray.
That's a freshwater stingray.
There's no way.
Oh, no, no, this is not happening.
I did not catch a stingray.
I did not just catch a stingray.
Look at the little crawfish.
What is that, dude?
That's got orange fins.
There's two of them.
Oh, my gosh.
There's swordtails back there.
Look at that.
It looks like a freaking stingray.
Oh, we're going to hold on.
I got a glass jar in the truck.
Let me go.
Let's bring everything up to the truck
and let's get all that stuff into the glass jar
so we can get a better look at them.
But holy crap, guys,
I'm sorry if I'm freaking out,
but I'm pretty sure I just caught a freaking stingray.
Let's go try to find out what the heck we just caught.
We're going to put all the cool stuff,
the crazy stuff from these bottle traps into here.
I'm praying to God that's a freshwater stingray.
Yeah. Oh, there he is.
We got him.
Dude, he's sucking onto the edge.
Holy crap.
Like there are some suction there.
Look at him.
Dude, he's literally sucking on the edge.
Oh, my gosh.
There we go. We got him.
Dude, that's a freaking stingray.
Oh, my gosh.
Look at him.
Should I be holding this?
Dude, that's a stingray.
Let's get him in the jar.
You're telling me that's not a stingray.
Oh, my gosh.
What is he doing?
Every time I catch one of these fish, I'm like, OK, that's it.
That's that's the last fish that I'll catch and not know what it is.
Like, I have to know all the species by now.
This thing I've never seen in my life.
I don't know if it's native, invasive, what it is.
I mean, it kind of gives me native vibes.
I feel like this would be something you would find in Florida, right?
It kind of looks like that.
He is so cool, though.
Here we go. Get the little play coat.
Wow.
I mean, look at that.
It's just the play coat, but it's really cool how tiny he is.
It's the smallest play coat I've ever seen, especially in the wild.
Wow.
That thing is so tiny.
I mean, there's a lot more fish in here, but they're all sort of just like,
yeah, you can see them there.
I think those are all just mosquito fish.
I think those are swordtails.
All right. And platies.
Look at that.
All right. We're going to get all these guys into the glass jar as well.
Oh, wow. Look at the blue on him.
Look at this fish.
Oh, my gosh.
Oh, he's gorgeous.
That's a platy, I'm pretty sure.
Look at the blue on him.
I've never caught one with blue like that.
That is really cool.
We got a bunch of them, it looks like.
Yeah, here's another one.
These guys should go in the Koi pond.
Look at that.
Oh, they should definitely go in the Koi pond.
Look at the sun reflecting off that blue.
Oh, they're gorgeous.
You can tell that a lot of their color probably has faded from them being
in the wild.
They kind of look a lot duller, but you can still see some blue.
That's really cool.
There's another one down there.
There we go. Third one in.
Oh, that is so sick, dude.
There we go.
Once again, same species, blue.
Dude, look at that freaking stingray.
I'm calling him a stingray.
I don't care if it's a stingray or not.
I'm calling it a stingray.
Oh, there's a swordtail.
I knew I saw a swordtail.
Bro, we caught a freaking swordtail.
Check that out.
Oh, my God.
Look at him.
Oh, dude, this is so sick.
I love this glass jar.
Wow. You can really see him a lot better now.
A lot of you guys suggested to get a little glass jar to put him in
so we can see him better.
You guys were right. Look at that.
This is so cool.
Let's get this other little play-doh.
Little baby.
There he goes.
Yes, finally.
Got him.
Last swordtail going in.
There we go. Wow.
This is just insane.
Look at the blue.
Oh, dude, the platies.
Some of them are like really blue.
Oh, maybe they were just stressed out from being in the trap.
Let's get a close look on that freaking stingray, bro.
Look at this guy's little stingray mouth and everything, bro.
It's a stingray.
We also have a little baby crawfish.
Dude, this was like a micro fish trap.
We've just caught a bunch of little tiny fish, but they're all really cool.
That's what you get when you put a fish trap in a little tiny creek.
Very shallow.
You get a bunch of little fish.
Oh, what is that?
Oh, this is the one with orange fins we saw.
Hold on.
We still got more fish, guys.
Hold up.
Hold your horses.
What is that?
I've caught those before.
Wait, those look like tetras or something.
It's got like orange fins on them.
Check it out. Move, stingray.
Stingray, move.
Look, he's got the black stripe.
That what is that?
Oh, he's gorgeous.
Dude, he's got like orange and blue fins.
Those are sick.
Yeah, we got another one.
Wow.
Dude, this is so sick.
I mean, I can't say it enough.
This is so cool.
There's our haul for today.
Got a little little bit of everything in here.
We got some swordtails, two green swordtails,
two of those things with the with the red reddish fins.
Whatever this is, which I really need your guys's help identifying this
because I have absolutely zero clue.
I mean, if it was up to me, I would call it a stingray.
Because I mean, look at that.
Look at the shape of them, bro.
It's a fricking stingray.
We got two little baby placos, a little baby crawfish
who is climbing on top of the placo currently and four platies.
Blue platies.
I don't know the actual name, but they are blue.
And I'm pretty sure they are platies.
Let's go release these fish real quick.
Then we're going to head home and we're probably going to put
we're probably keeping everything we caught.
We're probably keeping everything in this jar.
Everything in here is so cool.
There we go, guys.
There we go.
This is cool.
It's like a little fish tank.
Let's let these guys go.
Adios. Oh.
Oh, oh, my God, what was that?
Oh, that looked like a frickin tetra.
That looked like a tetra.
That looked like a frickin tetra.
There's a lot of cool fish in here, guys.
We'll be back for sure.
But for now, I'll see you guys back at my house
when we put these fish into their new homes.
All right, guys, we just made it back to the house.
Check it out.
We're here at the Koi pond.
We're going to put most of the fish we caught into there.
All right.
We got them in this bucket now.
Let's try to catch them.
All right, we got one.
Look at the blue.
Focus. There we go.
Look at the blue on him.
These are gorgeous, dude.
They were not that blue when I first caught them.
I'm telling you.
All right, there he goes.
Oh, oh, we got one of the swordtails and those two unknown fish,
which you guys can help me out.
Oh, wow.
Do they got like electric blue fins?
One more.
One more blue guy.
There he goes.
Wait, did we catch five?
Hold on.
Or can I just not count?
How many was that, guys?
Let me know.
I think that was four.
And swordtail.
There he goes.
Oh, I wish I could have a tank just for like these guys.
These guys all they got a vibe going.
I kind of like this vibe.
The little baby crawfish, the two baby placos and our stingray thing.
All right, guys, we're actually going to end up putting.
Let's see. Let's put the placos.
This tank right here.
We're going to put them into there, because as you can tell,
the light is creating some algae on the glass.
So got to get some placos in here.
There he goes.
There he is.
Little tiny placo.
And second one in.
There he is.
For the crawfish.
You know what? Let's just throw the crawfish in there, too.
We're just going to put the crawfish in, too, because why not?
They're pretty cool areas.
He might get eaten.
He might not. You know what?
Oh, yeah, he got eaten.
Well, we tried now for the stingray, dude.
I really want him in a tank so I can like actually see him.
So I'm going to take the chance and put him into here.
I don't think anything will eat him because, you know, we put placos in here
when placos were very small and no one budged with them.
And this guy kind of acts like a placo.
Like, look at him right now.
He's already he just sucks on the edge the whole time and he doesn't really move.
So I don't think he should get eaten.
Let's drop him in.
There he goes.
Wow. Oh, he's scurried off.
You can see him in the reflection there.
He's just sucking onto the rock.
OK, well, I don't know how big these things get.
Watch him get like frickin 12 feet long.
Oh, my God.
Hey, guys, say what's up?
Tank looking amazing, as usual.
Look at that Texas cichlid.
Where's my big Jack Dempsey?
Dude, the Jack Dempsey is so bipolar.
He's under there.
You can kind of see his scales.
He comes out like at night, usually like sometimes he's out.
Sometimes he's he's not.
He likes hanging out in that little cave.
All right, guys, it's been a couple hours since I put the little stingray
looking thing in the tank.
And there he is.
He has come out of hiding.
He's right up here.
I don't know if he I don't know if they breathe oxygen,
if that's why he's up at the top, because when I had him in the bucket,
he was coming up for air at the top, I think.
But yeah, there he is.
He's doing good.
Well, guys, that will do it for today.
Very successful fish traps DIY, too, which makes it even cooler
because we made the fish traps.
If you did enjoy, go down there, hit the like button.
Subscribe if you haven't already.
Make sure to comment what kind of fish that is, that stingray looking thing.
But yeah, guys, I'll see you in the next one. Peace out.
