Meno (Μένων) is one of the earliest Socratic dialogue written by Plato, with the conversation dateable to about 402 BCE. The dialogue begins with Meno asking Socrates whether virtue is taught, acquired by practice, or comes by nature. In order to determine whether virtue is teachable or not, Socrates tells Meno that they first need to determine what virtue is. And this question occupies the two men for the entirety of the dialogue.
