Trump Can Go on With Life While Dems Vote Against Opening Government: Panel
Steve Scully, senior fellow at the former Members of Congress Association, Mally Smith, Democratic strategist, and Amanda Makki, attorney and Republican strategist, joined a panel discussion with NTD's Iris Tao, the backlash to President Donald Trump's ballroom project surrounding the demolition, naming it after Trump, and the timing of the construction project during the government shutdown. The panel also discussed the affordability of the Affordable Care Act, the benefit it has become for insurance companies, and the Democrats' strategy to make Americans feel the pain to force Republicans to the negotiating table. The panel also discussed the Trump administration's strikes on boats carrying drugs from Latin America and heading to the United States, and the buildup of military forces in the waters near South America to combat narco-trafficking.
