80th season of Warrior basketball and they pack in to Chase Center already 1-0 having beaten the Lakers. The Nuggets first game of the season, the home opener. So Steph Podjemski, Jimmy Butler, Kaminga, and Graymon Green. The same starting lineup as they had against the Lakers. Curry opens it up with a throw. Graymon, little teardrop, puts it up and in. Nugget attacking Jamal Murray, flipping it up and in. This is where the maturity is, understanding when you can go. Jimmy Butler, right in the passing lanes. Podjemski spaces out for three. Moses Moody will be healthy tomorrow night in the back-to-back against Portland. But you see Kaminga, point of attack defense, as Jokic puts it up and in. He's trying to show and get back and not let him get behind you. There's Murray moving without the ball. He and Jokic like breathing how they work together. Jokic, soft hands, beautiful touch. And then Steph, Steve Kerr didn't want that. They have a guaranteed layup and it ends up being a Nugget three. You can't have that against a good team. Nuggets are good for a reason and Jokic runs the floor. Hey, remember that 10-nothing start? It's now 10-10. We're getting a little stagnant here. Jamal Murray out of the timeout in the Nuggets' first league. Nugget attacking downhill. J.K. had a great training camp, passed the best we've seen him. As Aaron Gordon has still not missed a three. Gordon is just spectacular. So, if you're going to come off of him, you may want to get some rotation to him. DP two right down the lane. Worked off of that double team. Just set that streak for Steph and Ward-Richard. Jokic and Gordon up top. Another three. And he's six for six from deep. And you're going under his screen there. And Curry right to the rim. Jokic for three. Goodness. Nine of 16 are the Nuggets from deep. Seven of seven on threes. Curry. You're going to double team me on top. I'm going to keep going to the rim. Curry. Ward-Richard continues to attack. Graymon to DP two. They snuffed that out nicely. Graymon to Jimmy Butler. And there's the three. You're all defense. And then you run it up and just spoon feed Butler for the layup. Jimmy Butler's got to beat the leaper. Gordon, pump fake, pump fake. Yes, sir. But then he's tipped in by DP two. He didn't assume the make. Jokic looking for a step through. And Gordon moving without the ball. That's the problem with double teaming Jokic. Looking for a cutter. Shot clock at five. Back out to Steph. And bottoms are three. They have two defenders there. He still made it. Graymon went behind the back to Steph. 14 years they've been doing that together. Gordon seven for seven, eight for eight. He's one away from the NBA record with threes without a miss in a game. And Steph inside, another layup. And they're trying to get Steph going. And he came off the little cross screen there. The Jemski three. A little pick and pop action there. Jokic down the lane, flipping it up and in. So skilled and so soft. And there's Graymon cutting. There's the play. And he's seeing the floor now. See all the blue jerseys following Curry everywhere. He gets it on a relocate and banks it home. That's where Steph is extremely dangerous when he gives the ball up. Gordon, what a night. His career high is 41. He's got 32. Steph moving it out the ball again. He flips it in. And his first trip to the foul line. Here he comes. And you look at him, they're double teaming him, throwing all kinds of defenders at him. He's got 19 points. Damn Johnson on Curry. And Steph sent him away. Foul ball, he's saying. Buddy. He's got to lay up. You like the tempo now, the back and forth. Who can play this game better? Horford loves the corner. And the lead. How about Buddy Hule making a play off the bounce. A pass from Horford. And Will Richard pays it off. Or for that decision-maker excitement. Now they're playing off of Buddy Hule's double team. Curry around Aaron Gordon all the way down the lane. Passed Jokic to lay it in. He still has that quickness to just beat a guy off the dribble without a screen. Tom Jokic makes it a seven-point game. Ramon wants that relocate. Steph for three. And he was fouled. Three for three for 30. He's got 29 in the game. And we've got a two-point game. Steph to tie it. He's got it. He's got 45. Ramon got there. Jokic shot it over. It's good defense. It's better offense. And the nugget's on top. Jimmy Butler back out to Wilford for three. He got it. He's 39 years young. Steph speeding into the front court. 23 seconds to run out. Golden's got a 50 ball. What a home opener for the Dubs. Denver is a fantastic team. This was a fantastic win. And for the Warriors, Steph Curry is something else. He's so mentally tough. He was not going to let his team lose.
