Just hours after releasing her first album in four years, "Rare," Selena Gomez hit the red carpet Saturday for the premiere of her new movie, "Dolittle."
Your album, Girlfriend, it has been on rotation for 24 hours, I can't stop.
Thank you so much.
Rare, vulnerable, let me get me, is that the, did I say it right?
Let me get me, I'm obsessed.
Thank you so much.
You crushed it.
Well, I appreciate that.
It's been a long time, so I wasn't quite sure how everyone was going to react, but I hear
only good things so far, so.
I'm obsessed, and I just, I feel like for you this has got to be such an incredible
moment because it's rare.
Rare that you get more than two bangers on an album.
Every song is a single.
You're so sweet.
I don't know, I have no idea where, I kind of, I want to let the fans decide on that
one.
Okay.
Because I just, I'm having way too much fun with this album, it feels so good, and yeah,
more to come to just make it bigger and better.
Where does, how does this album reflect where you're at in your life, and where you have
been?
I think it tells a good story of me acknowledging the past 10 years, and even as we were finishing
the album, we were still writing about currently where I am, so I feel like you can hear it
in songs like Ring, and Fun, and Sweeter Place.
I think it reflects in the music, and I hope you can hear the difference of how light I
feel and how happy I am.
And I feel like you get in people's heads.
I feel like you've been in my head.
I'm like, isn't that okay?
No, it's a great thing.
Everything to Vulnerable, and I was like, gee, this is exactly how I'm feeling.
Well, it's something that everyone feels.
I mean, I personally feel like every single one of us have heartbreak, and confusion,
and we have fun.
It's just like a whole world of emotions, and I'm glad people can relate to that.
And how incredible to be able to connect to people in that way.
Like, when you get those responses from people, like, you got me through this time, or that,
like, how does that make you feel?
It's always a surreal feeling.
At the same time, I think when I was younger, there were people for me that did that.
So, it's crazy that I'm able to do it, and I think that it has a lot to do with
people following my journey with me.
I thought you were just bowing down to Robert Downey Jr.
That was a cute moment.
Have you guys met before?
Yes, we have.
Yeah, okay.
And, obviously, playing the giraffe in this film, super cute.
I'm asking everyone, if you could come back as any animal in your next life, what would it be?
An elephant.
Why an elephant?
Because I adopted one in Kenya.
Yes, and I love them very much.
So, yes, I would say that.
What is it that you love about the elephant?
I never forget.
Of your memory?
Well, no, but they stay together, you know, and I love that.
I think that no matter where they go, it's very sweet.
Tell me what you're doing with this album.
Are you taking it on the road?
Is there going to be a tour soon?
Not sure.
Well, we're still figuring that out.
I know that's such a boring answer, but I love being able to see my fans.
