Hello! Today, we bring you Expo 2025 Japan, currently taking place.
The massive wooden ring canopy represents the venue design philosophy of diverse, yet united.
The Expo's theme is designing future society for our lives.
You can feel the essence of wabi-sabi throughout the grounds.
Now, let's begin our journey. First, the Japan Pavilion. The concept is between lives.
The theme is circulation, from waste to water, materials and objects.
What do you feel within this cycle of life? From the waste produced at the Expo site,
microorganisms help generate energy, such as electricity, and create clean water.
Algae grown with that water are transformed into food and furniture.
It's a journey through the cycle of regeneration. Ready? Let's go!
An hourglass that gazes between lives. The beautiful form of circulation,
connecting endings and beginnings. A world of light created by tiny microorganisms.
A massive water basin purified by the power of microorganisms.
The wooden panels that shape this space are designed with reuse in mind.
A curtain of life-filled algae. Through photobioreactors that cultivate algae,
experience healing like a forest bath. Algae becomes raw material for biofuel,
health foods and cosmetics, solving society's challenges.
Welcome to the factory of the future. Special materials, mixing algae and bioplastics,
take shape through 3D printers. By making things soft, we make them long-lasting.
Traditional wooden buckets and soccer balls, both sustainable technologies with replaceable parts.
A fleeting moment of mono-no-aware, the beauty of impermanence.
We too are part of this great circulation. Eternity through passing the baton.
Next, the Portugal Pavilion. The theme is ocean, the blue dialogue.
The sea as a life-nurturing resource. The ocean as a life-nurturing resource.
For a sustainable future, what dialogue will you have with the ocean?
The ocean's point of view. Since you came into this world, I have taken good care of you.
I embrace you. I feed you. I even play with you. Your whole life depends on me.
But you seem to have forgotten this. Let me show you.
If you melt my glaciers, I will flood your home. If you dump garbage on me, I will send back to you.
If you extract all my resources today, I will have nothing left to give you tomorrow.
Get back to your true nature. You were born in water. You are part of me.
Time for a little break. Let's have coffee at the Columbia Pavilion.
Columbia leads the world in both quantity and quality of premium Arabica coffee.
The Andes Mountains creates coffee with rich aroma, mild acidity flavor.
Lunch at the Italy Pavilion. The restaurant boasts an open rooftop terrace overlooking
Italian-style gardens. The Italian Pavilion's theme is,
art regenerates life. The building is constructed entirely of wood.
Culinary art painted in the red, white, and green of the national flag.
An iconic dessert, meh born from espresso culture.
The restaurant name, Eataly, playfully combines eat and Italy, a touch of Italian wit.
Thank you for the meal. Let's explore the world's diverse cultures.
In the commons, multiple countries and regions exhibit together.
Kenya is a nation characterized by vibrant colors and rich culture.
From traditional clothing to Kenyan roses, colorful hues appear in many scenes.
Half of Japan's rose imports come from Kenya.
Moldova, a landlocked Eastern European country with rich traditional culture.
Traditional, elegant folk costumes adorned with beautiful geometric embroidery.
One of the world's oldest wine regions, with winemaking dating back to 3000 BC.
The beautiful island nation of St. Kitts and Nevis, floating in the Caribbean Sea,
characterized by colorfully designed traditional costumes.
Recently, they've been actively developing their robotics industry.
Sri Lanka, where Buddhist statue culture is deeply rooted, is a nation with 2,000 years of Buddhism.
This is a precise replica of Avalokiteshvara sitting in a playful pose,
holding a lotus flower. The compassionate, peaceful expression calms our hearts.
The mystical Saudi Arabia pavilion, surrounded by palm trees.
A stone labyrinth of geometric patterns evokes exploration of the kingdom's beautiful cityscapes.
Delicate textiles in black and white, art born from craftsmanship that deeply connects people's
hearts. Vibrant geometric patterns dance across the walls.
Now, please enjoy a live performance of music that resonates with the Saudi Arabian soul.
So
through this expo, we gain something profound, a deeper understanding of cultural diversity
and a broader perspective as global citizens. And this expo serves as a platform for international
exchange. Under this magnificent ring, we unite as one. One world, one planet.
The future is in our hands to shape. What will you create?
Thank you for watching. See you in the next video.
