Pam Bondi, DHS react to ‘SNL ‘cold open mocking Senate hearing
You'll have to ask Homeland Security Director Kristi Noem.
Well, she isn't here.
What if she is, though?
Attorney General Pam Bondi and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem
were the focus of Saturday Night Live's cold open.
But instead of firing back, the two are embracing the spoof.
Bondi posted on ExSunday, tagging Noem and saying
they should recreate the photo in Chicago,
a city where ICE-related protests and raids have escalated.
She also added loving Amy Poehler, who was portraying Bondi.
Welcome back, Madam Attorney General.
What's up, nerds?
The cold open recreated Bondi's Senate testimony last week,
where in the skit, they show her dodging questions about President Trump.
I'm not going to discuss my private conversations with the president.
DHS even got in on the joke,
posting a clip from the sketch with the caption,
thanks for the free advertisement.
Luckily, my boys at ICE don't mind.
They're in it for the love of the game.
And how did I find them? By running ads like this.
Lord have mercy.
In a follow-up post, the agency linked to job openings,
turning satire into recruitment.
The spoof also touched on the government shutdown
and even poked fun at Noem's real-life controversy,
admitting she shot her dog years ago in her memoir.
