Poland is my native country. I was born there, grew up there, learnt how to ride motorcycles in my teens there and after finishing university in 2006 - I left there, to emigrate to Australia. In April 2017 I left Australia for a solo trip around the world on a BMW F800GS. I named it “Are We There Yet” because I don't know my final destination or the duration of this journey. And finally I made back it to Poland on my round the world tour... right in time for winter! It was a very sentimental moment for me – to see my family and friends after such a long 6 month ride from Australia. During a long winter, BMW Dobrzanski and Akademia Enduro prepared Chillie for the second leg of my RTW tour. Although I'm from the North East of Poland there were still so many places yet to discover. So for the grand finale I decided to ride the Trans Euro Trail and had a ball! So long Poland! ↓↓↓ JOIN ME ON ↓↓↓
So it's middle of winter in Poland. I'm living in five weeks.
So I really hope there's snow. It's going to melt soon.
I can't zip my pants. My parents heard me too well this winter.
Oh dear. It's been six long months since I arrived to Poland.
And now it's 11th of April and it's time to go back on the road again.
Today I'm picking up my bike Chili from B&W Dobrzański here in Krakow.
Today I'm in Kazimierz Dolny. A lovely little historic town.
And I nearly got booked by police for parking. Not in the right place. So unfair.
So this one is the main castle. It was built by Kazimierz the Great.
Oh right, that's the guy that the city is named after. So yep, that's important.
Not too many windows, hey?
Crazy hair.
So I've been following this route from Trans Eurotrails and I finally made it to Bug river.
Our river that is on the border of Poland and Belarus.
And I'm supposed to cross it with a ferry but the ferry is not operational in April.
So I have to go around.
I came to Wiałowieża to see these guys. Those are Żubrz. Polish bison.
They only live here in Eastern Poland and there's only 500 of them living in the wild.
So it's pretty incredible.
To be able to see them. They're pretty big.
And cute.
Hello.
Hello Mr. Żubr.
This is Żubroń. Cross of cow and Żubr. He's nasty.
Hello Mr. Moose.
How's your day?
Yummy grass.
That's the life.
Poo.
My favorite gravel is closed.
Damn it.
I'm on my way to Słowop.
I have an Australian ID. I'm sure you're familiar with it.
I'm going alone. I'm going around the world, you know.
Is it falling off?
Oh, it fell off.
This is it. This is the paper.
This is the Polish ID.
Oh, this is it.
Some registration number.
Oh, here it is.
Oh, I see. That's how you do it.
Yeah, you have to be careful.
And this means NSW?
It's a region or?
It's a region, yes.
Oh, this is the registration number.
Yes, this is the registration number.
And this is until September.
And this is a document, right?
This is a registration document, yes.
And you don't have something like this?
We don't have this.
You don't have something like this?
And you have to renew it every year. You have to pay and renew it every year.
Oh, this is valid until December 17th.
Yes.
And this is a problem if you don't have a valid one.
I'll call the manager to confirm if the manager will accept this information.
Hi.
So in every hole?
Yes.
Bigger hole?
Bigger. And pour a little bit of this butter inside.
Uh-huh.
And it will be yummy.
It will be yummy.
It will be?
Yeah.
Oh, wow.
Chilli's got new decals.
Have a look.
They came all the way from South Korea.
From S&C.
Motor decal company.
Same, same.
But different.
Finally, it's time to go.
Six months later, we're back on the road.
Today, we'll be going to Belarus, which is not too far.
At the moment, I'm in Suwałki.
So I've got probably around 60km to the border.
And I'm going to start my European journey from there.
From Belarus.
Of course.
Short film, Szymon, Ciemek
High five!
Today I'm exploring Biebrzański
