Nancy Zhou | Johann Sebastian Bach - Allemanda from Partita No. 1
In collaboration with the Strings Magazine's video series Strings Sessions, I had the pleasure of recording the opening movement of J.S. Bach's first partita, featured on my first album, STORIES (re)TRACED. Our appreciation for the concept of variations is at the foreground of this partita, which is not as often played as the rest of the unaccompanied cycle. Set in the key of b minor, a sanctuary for the solitude and one of my favorite keys, it constantly directs our attention to the micro and macro approach to life.
