Day six finals of the Swimming World Championships just finished.
What happened?
What were the best moments?
What were the biggest surprises?
In this video, we review every final.

We start off with the women's 100 freestyle, and the Olympic silver medalist from last
summer in this event, Tori Husk, takes the race out fast, flipping first.
Molly O'Callaghan pushes the second 50, but it's the Dutch star, Steenberg, and charges
home in a 27-2 for the gold medal.
Honestly, I did not predict this.
I thought it was going to be Tori or Molly.
What a celebration for the Dutch swimmer.
I mean, really cool to see someone from the Netherlands winning a gold medal.
The times were okay.
Tori Husk is still number one in the world.
She's really had an up and down meet.
She had one of the worst splits ever on the mixed relay when Team USA didn't even make
the final.
I mean, she added three seconds in her 100 fly on that split.
I honestly think Tori Husk is the most consistent female swimmer on Team USA.
This bug hit her hard, but she has slowly been getting better.
She went 52.8 on the relay where the women won the silver medal, and then she went 52.8
flat start in this race to win the bronze medal.
All things considered, a great performance out of Tori, and how cool is it to see someone
from the Netherlands win a gold medal?
Next up, we had the men's 200 breaststroke, and this was a very interesting race.
American AJ Pouch takes the race out aggressive, leads to the 100, leads to the 150 mark.
The world record holder Chin, who missed the podium last year at the Olympics, barely made
the final.
He was in lane eight, eighth place.
He's never been in a position like this before at the world championships, and he's the only
guy ever to win the 50, 100, and 200 breaststroke at the world championships.
A lot of pressure on this dude.
AJ is from my home state, Nevada, and he fell off hard.
It was so painful for me to watch.
I was screaming at my TV, but the Chinese champion closed aggressive, an amazing 450
to win the gold medal.
Watanabe of Japan wins the silver medal, and Casper Corbeau, a friend of mine, takes the
bronze medal for the Netherlands.
AJ settles for fifth place.
Oh, that one, that stung.
That hurt.
I love that he went for it.
He really went for it, but it was just too stiff on that 450.
He added a full second.
Great race.
Exciting race.
After Chin wins the race, he climbs out.
They give him his flag.
He's supposed to parade around the pool deck, but he takes a moment to walk to the side
of the pool to shake the hands and give high fives to the other guys in the race.
That was very classy.
I really liked that.
You could see, as he was walking around the pool, genuine joy that he won that race.
Again, from an outside lane, after not even making the final in the 50 breaths, kind of
a rocky meet.
He won the 100 breaths, so he's swimming well, but it's just the pressure was on, and he
showed up.
That's what champions do.
He showed up.
I like the class and respect that he displayed for his fellow racers.
That was really cool.
The men's 200 backstroke was a two-man battle between Hungary's Hubert Kos, the Olympic
champion, and Peter Coates of South Africa.
They flip on world record pace at the 150 with 50 meters to go.
In my opinion, this world record is one of the absolute fastest.
No one has been anywhere close.
Kos wins the race defending his gold medal in a time of 153.1, still well over a full
second off the world record, but a very, very good race.
Next up, the women's 200 breaststroke was the Kate Douglas show.
She was hot off of winning the gold medal at last summer's Olympics.
She took this race out aggressive, under world record pace at the 100, a body length ahead
of the field, under world record pace at the 150 mark.
She fades a little bit, falls off the world record, but wins the gold medal in an American
record time.
Really a gutsy, stellar swim.
The world record holder, Chikanova, settles for the silver medal, and I got to say, Kate
had one of the longest finishes I've ever seen, like so long.
She probably would have dropped like three tenths of a second if she had just taken the
extra stroke and adjusted accordingly.
Kate had 15 minutes from when she finished the 200 breaststroke till when she stood on
the blocks for the semifinal of the 50 fly.
She ended up missing the final in the 50 fly by one tenth of a second.
You got to imagine if she had a bit more time, she would have swam faster and made the final.
But who does the two breast 50 fly double?
I mean, that is bananas.
In her 200 breaststroke, if she cleans up her walls and doesn't go so long into the
finish, she probably sets the world record.
I think we're going to see Kate set this world record in the coming years.
There actually was an extra few minutes after the first semifinal of the 50 fly.
They were doing a race review, like maybe checking to see if people went past 50 meters
or whatever.
I kind of feel like they did that on purpose to buy her a little bit of time.
Because Aqua needs superstars that are accomplishing these crazy doubles.
And so anyway, that's just my tinfoil hat.
I feel like they were like, let's buy her a little bit extra time by having a race.
Anyway, now we finish with the men's four by 200 freestyle relay and Great Britain has
dominated this race for years.
They're the defending Olympic champions.
Halfway through the race, they're right there in the lead, right with the pack.
Team USA is nowhere to be found.
Luke Hobson dives in as the third leg of Team USA's relay.
Hobson swims the fifth fastest relay split of all time, 143.4 to give the Americans the
lead going into the final leg of this relay.
But Duncan Scott says, hold my beer and throws down another one of the fastest splits in
history and runs away with this race for Great Britain.
Congratulations to Great Britain.
I didn't realize this was their first medal of the championship.
It's day six.
They needed that.
And this race has kind of become their baby, so good on them for defending that title.
Painful to watch Team USA fade to fourth place.
Good job, Team China.
They set the Asian record and the Aussies just closed really well, 144 out of Giuliani.
It's really tough for me to watch a relay with Luke Hobson being one of the greatest
tuner freestylers of all time and then missing the medal.
It's like Team USA is better than that.
They need to be better.
This is just, it's very disappointing.
Again, very happy for Team GB.
They own us in this event.
They've got everybody's number in this event.
China did great.
Australia did great.
I'm just, I'm disappointed in this.
I'm just, yeah, no other way to say it.
Duncan Scott on the end there, man, that is, that guy is clutch.
That's it for the Friday finals.
