Church collapses, displacing residents and congregation

A Southwest Philadelphia church is being torn down after its roof and side wall collapsed Sunday night, displacing several nearby residents and leaving a longtime congregation without a place to worship.

The collapse happened on the 5500 block of Woodland Avenue in the Kingsessing neighborhood. Surveillance video captured the moment a massive cloud of dust and debris fell into the street, narrowly missing a passerby.
