A new image of 3i-Atlas has revealed something truly strange — scientists have discovered that sunlight behaves in a completely different way around this object than anything we’ve ever seen or even imagined before.
Recently, the interstellar comet 3i-Atlas passed fairly close to Mars on October 3rd, coming within about 0.19 astronomical, that’s roughly 28 million kilometers away. It’s now racing through space at nearly 200,000 miles per hour, heading toward its closest point to the Sun, known as the perihelion.
