We also might make a distribution to the
people almost like a dividend.
>> Hey everyone, welcome to the show. So,
President Trump said in an interview
this weekend with O that he wants to
send checks out to the American people
again. Now, there is a bit of background
on this. We first had the idea of the
Doge dividend suggested by James
Fishbach, which was to use 20% of the
savings made by the Department of
Government Efficiency or Doge and give
those back to the American people in the
form of a stimulus check. Fishbach
shared the idea on Twitter or X as I
guess it's now called and Elon who was
running Doge at the time seemed to
agree. Trump then gave his support to
the idea as well.
>> There's even uh under consideration a
new concept where we give 20% of the
Doge savings to American citizens and
20% goes to paying down debt.
>> But later this seemed to fizzle out.
Doge has only reported about 200 billion
in savings so far, a lot less than the
expected two trillion in Fishbach's
proposal, which would give the amount of
money needed to give 20% back to the
American people in the form of $5,000
checks, which is what he was proposing.
And when the big beautiful bill passed
earlier this summer, which is the bill
that everyone thought would include Doge
stimulus checks, well, there was nothing
about stimulus checks in the bill. But
now Trump has floated the idea again or
a similar idea. But this time it isn't a
Doge stimulus. It is a tariff stimulus
check. I.e. using a portion of the
revenue that is being brought in by
tariffs and giving that back to the
people. Have a listen to what Trump said
in his interview with O this weekend.
>> We'll pay back debt, but we all we also
might make a distribution to the people
almost like a dividend to the people of
America.
>> How much are you thinking for that, sir?
Well, we're thinking maybe a,000 to
$2,000.
>> Now, if he's being this persistent and
already talking about numbers, I get the
feeling that he thinks this is something
that he really wants to happen. All
right, maybe they started the
conversation last time when we were
talking about the whole Doge dividend
check thing and it's been going on
behind the scenes until now. But is it
really realistic? Well, tariffs are
projected to bring in somewhere around
$400 billion this year. Okay. How much
would it cost to pay, say, $1,000 check
to everyone in the USA? Well, the
population is $340 million. So, a $1,000
check would be 340 billion. But in
reality, not everyone would be eligible
since that number includes non-citizens.
And then maybe it would only be for
people over 18 or for taxpayers. If it
was for people over 18, that's 266
million people and thus it would cost
$266 billion. We're already getting it
down a bit lower, but that's still over
half the projected revenue from tariffs
this year. If it was one check per
household, there's 132 million
households in the US. So, it would be
$132 billion if it was $1,000 check, and
it would be uh $260 billion if it was a
$2,000 check. So, you can see it is
possible, but they'll probably have to
work out the details. Maybe they'll do
it across two years instead of one. I
remember when they did the stimulus
checks though back during co they
started mentioning them and they were
mentioning them again and again and then
it actually happened quite quickly since
this time Trump is actually proactively
mentioning it himself not like with the
last time the doge dividend where it was
like other people suggesting it and him
reacting to it. I think it signals that
he really wants it to happen. One
additional impact of this though is a
surge in the price of Bitcoin. Look at
this Forbes headline. Perfect storm.
Bitcoin suddenly braced for a massive
price shock after surging to all-time
high over $125,000.
So, at the weekend when Trump made these
comments, the price of Bitcoin did hit
an all-time high again. Now, it was
trading upwards anyway. But maybe
Trump's comments have something to do
with it. Since if you flood the economy
with money like with a stimulus or like
what they did during COVID, the logical
thing to assume is that you will get
inflation and thus people will flock to
assets like Bitcoin and gold to preserve
their wealth. Some will even invest
those stimulus checks in Bitcoin. So, we
saw a little surge this weekend, but
Forbes is saying that if Trump actually
goes ahead and issues these checks,
expect the price of Bitcoin to
skyrocket. And they quote a load of
studies in the article and stuff. I'll
put a link somewhere below so you can
read it. So, there are two ways that you
can profit here, though. One is that
you'll get a check. All right? If it
happens, but also by holding some
Bitcoin, you can expect that price to go
up if he actually issues the checks. All
right? And so, if you don't have any
Bitcoin yet or you don't have an account
that is a crypto brokerage account where
you can buy some Bitcoin, I'll put a
link to Gemini down below. They're my
favorite crypto exchange. They're the
most by the book, okay? So, I feel very
safe keeping my crypto with them or
buying crypto through them. If you sign
up through my link down below and just
trade $100 of crypto, any
cryptocurrency, whatever you want, they
will give you $50 in the crypto of your
choice. Personally, I would take that
$50 in Bitcoin. Then, if we do get this
big price move, you'll be poised to
capture some of that. Just in the last
year, Bitcoin has doubled in price and
it really could go a lot higher. So, if
you did go and buy $100 worth of Bitcoin
through Gemini, that would then trigger
the free $50 that they give you as part
of this deal. deal. So then you have
$150 in Bitcoin. Well, if it did double
again, then you'd have $300. Anyway,
click the link below in the description
if you want that deal. Obviously,
Bitcoin can have wild swings in price,
so don't be alarmed if it goes down
before it goes up. Interesting thing is
though, I don't even know if a check
from tariff revenue will cause inflation
since you're not printing new money. All
right? You're just taking money from one
area of the economy and you're
reallocating it to another. Don't quote
me on that. see what other experts are
saying. Okay, make up your own mind
about this. But it isn't like what we
did during COVID when we printed like $6
trillion or something,
[Music]
but the perceived effect may still drive
moves in assets like Bitcoin. Anyway
guys, that is the video. Hopefully, we
will know more about this whole tariff
stimulus check thing soon. We will
obviously report the latest update on it
when we do know more. So, please do
subscribe so that you don't miss out.
We'll see you in the next video.
