Considered one of Europe's top ten museums, the museum of Troy has an outstanding display of artefacts and it is laid out to entertain as well as inform. Don't miss the view from the roof.

Cooking materials and weapons, along with statues and bricks are all on show. The museum has lifts, and the ramps between floors are slopes should you wish to walk. There are clean toilets and a shop. It is a wonderful modern museum that explains so much.

There has no doubt been many wars and battles here over this piece of land which was by the sea until silt extended the land into the sea and placed the current position inland. The museum and tour of TROY are normally one coach tour. Whilst the museum is easy to walk around, Troy is not so easy. See all the films we have including the one of Çanakkale Port where the horse from the film stands. Turkey has a history of museum activities. Their first museum, established in the Ottoman Period, is today's Istanbul Archeology Museum, followed by museums in Bursa and Sivas. There have been museums in Çanakkale since 1911 but this modern facility, which is amazing, opened in 2018. It is on four floors and in seven sections: Archeology of Troas Region, Bronze Age of Troy, Iliad Epic and Trojan War, Troas and Ilion in Antiquity, Eastern Roman and Ottoman Period, Archeology History, Traces of Troy.

As well as the tombstones, large sculptures, and artefacts there are modern 3D holographic animations and many photographs.

Romulus and Remus are said to be ancient Rome's legendary founders. However, many characters like Helen of Troy may have been made up or based on others, just as stories and religions have done for years and years.
