Satoru Kitaoka (Japan) vs Jorge Masvidal (USA) | KNOCKOUT, MMA Fight HD
And once again, Satoru Kitaoka returns to the ring.
It's like I've been away for a while.
It means that Satoru Kitaoka is going to change, too.
The new Kitaoka Satoru.
The one who will break the silence.
He's the strongest in the world.
He's like the strongest foreigner in the world.
The 9th Street Fighter, Orfe Masvidal.
He's a member of the American Top Team.
He's a very aggressive fighter.
He's too strong and too dangerous.
In other words, he's the worst opponent.
He's a very aggressive opponent.
Satoru Kitaoka returns to the ring.
Come back.
Orfe Masvidal's Sengoku.
Let's go.
Satoru Kitaoka returns to the ring.
He's the strongest in the world.
The 9th Street Fighter, Orfe Masvidal.
He's too strong and too dangerous.
In other words, he's the worst opponent.
Orfe Masvidal's Sengoku.
Let's go.
over Ryan Schultz. Very solid stand-up, very good footwork for Jorge Masvidal.
How could you not be a fan of the little stud Satoru Kitayoka? An ultra
aggressive fighter, superb takedown, vicious ground and pound and some of the
most painful submissions going round. The big question mark as we said earlier has
to be how will Kitayoka's cardio hold out if Masvidal can push this fight into the
latter round. Before his title loss to Hirota last time out Kitayoka had been on an
absolute tear with six straight wins over the likes of Takanori Komi who he
subbed with an Achilles lock in under two minutes.
Clay Frenchy also caught an Achilles lock in 31 seconds. Sakaguchi hit Achilles
lock in 91 seconds. Here's how they stack up Kitayoka five years the older, four
inches shorter and has the experience 25-9-9. Masvidal 18-4. This one could get nasty.
Those shark-like eyes, laser-like intensity on Kitayoka.
Well I'll tell you something.
After the announcement.
The size of Kitayoka's upper body and his legs.
Yeah baby.
Kitayoka, he's got to get his hands up. He lays his hands down, plays that silly game.
He's gonna get put to sleep quick. Masvidal has long, look how long he is. Look at those arms.
I mean those are incredibly long arms. He's gonna get, putting those punches straight on him.
He better hold his hands up or he's gonna be in a lot of trouble real quick.

Kitayoka and Jorge Masvidal.
Kitayoka minus 160, Masvidal plus 130 with the bookmakers.
Early attempt for a guillotine here from Masvidal.
The Cuban street fighter.
We saw a bit of Kimbo Slices footage earlier on in the pre-fight video for Jorge Masvidal.
Training at American Top Team, Coconut Creek, Florida.
Kitayoka looking very relaxed so far here in the first round.
Inside the half guard.
Yeah, this is where he likes to be. He likes to work it.
What he needs to do is he needs to work Masvidal's back off the ropes.
Get it flat on the ground.
Kitayoka is gonna look for that right arm of Masvidal.
A powerfully built little man is Satoru Kitayoka.
An absolute ball of muscle. Huge legs on him. Look at the size of his thighs.
I think because of his height though, he should actually go down to the featherweight division.
He's just a little too short, a little too small for the lightweight division.
He's gonna go for that leg lock.
Kitayoka trying to finish here in the first round and Masvidal pounding his way out.
Kitayoka wearing some shots to the jawline here as he tries to put this submission on Jorge Masvidal.
Out, out, out, out.
Look at those long arms raining down the punches to the jawline.
That's Kitayoka.
Masvidal's relaxed here.
It hurts though. Masvidal's in pain.
Oh, he's turning!
Trying for a heel hook.
And Masvidal again with those long arms is able to score to the jawline with the strikes.
He resets this Kitayoka.
Masvidal spins out. Kitayoka goes back after that leg, but he's taking punishment.
The Cuban's hitting him like a piñata.
Still locked onto that single leg is Kitayoka.
Short knee from Masvidal.
Kitayoka, just like a rabid pitbull, won't give up on that leg.
And now he lets go of it.
That was an interesting kind of takedown attempt there, rolling underneath him like that.
It worked.
Kitayoka, who paid credit to Masvidal, saying Masvidal was the toughest foreign lightweight fighter in Senkaku.
Masvidal, who called him an Oompa Loompa.
You know, same kind of respect.
You can see Cuban Oompa Loompas are actually held in high regard.
Little known fact.
Short popping left hand there from Masvidal.
Under two minutes remaining here in the first round, set for three by five.
A lot of instructions coming from Masvidal's corner.
He had kind of a neck crank kind of working.
Used that to kind of pry him off. Didn't really work, though.
Masvidal, who's beaten Joe Luiz on.
And here's Edwards. Lost this to Rafael Asensao.
Oh, good knee.
Oh, the high kick!
And Kitayoka tries to catch the kicking leg.
Already you can see Kitayoka breathing heavily through his mouth.
Maybe that cardio is coming into play now.
Masvidal running down the punches.
Kitayoka could be in some trouble.
Yeah, he's in a lot of trouble.
Masvidal has his back.
Still 55 seconds remaining in the first round.
And it's all Jorge Masvidal.
Up kick from Kitayoka.
Yeah, I just think Kitayoka's taking too many shots.
He gets tired out because he's...
Kitayoka not having enough options in his game plan here in the first round.
Masvidal's going to try and choke him.
He's got a pretty good choke on there.
Kitayoka rolls out onto his back.
And side control for Jorge Masvidal.
15 seconds on the clock in the first round.
Been a good first round for the Cuban.
It will go down.
Masvidal just drills in that strike off the right hand.
It goes down as the Cuban's round.
And Kitayoka already looks gassed here, Guy.
He's having trouble even getting to his feet.
They're having to help him to his corner.
It's gone downhill a lot quicker than I thought it was going to.
It's a good time to stop the fight.
The problem is, he's very predictable.
He goes for those leg locks, which he's really good at.
But people figure that out.
And the thing is, he takes way too much punishment.
Look at these shots he's taking.
5, 6, 7...
Can't even count them on think.
Right in the face.
He can't take those punishments.
He takes way, way too much punishment.
This is going to get worse for him.
I don't see how he could go on for another 5 minutes.
The way that they physically had to carry him back to his corner.
The former champion, Kitayoka.
This is not good for him.
Breathing heavily through his mouth.
Also, the nose may actually be broken here of Kitayoka.
Look at his forehead.
Looks like he's part unicorn now.
Rowing horn out of the front of his head.
This is going to get worse.
His shots are going to get sloppier.
It's not like he's got great takedowns anyways.
But they're going to get worse.
And it's just going to get bloodier for him.
He's got to pull something out here.
He's got to go for a quick submission.
He's got to go for something fast.
Double leg from Kitayoka.
It's a knee coming in now.
Can't leave his head right there.
Can't do anything.
Jorge's doing a good job. He needs to stand up.
When he gets back up.
Kitayoka, 14 career wins via submission.
Masvidal, 9 wins via KO or TKO.
He's got that head up there.
He needs to work that knee into his head.
He's going to be thinking about going for the ankle lock.
He needs to start working on that.
Through the ropes here on Jorge Masvidal.
Now the referee moves in.
Wow, they stood him back up.
Overhand ride from Kitayoka.
Sprawl from Masvidal as Kitayoka shot in.
Now gets the takedown.
He's moved into a choke position again.
Every time, Guy. Every time.
He was a little lazy on that one time he got out.
He's going for the toe hold.
He's got to eat shots here.
He's got to go for a reverse heel hook.
He'll get the reverse heel hook if he doesn't get his face pounded first.
Masvidal spins out.
Nicely done from the Cuban and drives a knee.
Here comes the ground and pound.
Jorge Masvidal on a demolition mission.
Here with the second round.
Great work from Masvidal, Guy.
He looked like he was in trouble.
He could have got that reverse heel hook.
It's called an inside heel hook.
It's very painful.
It doesn't break the ankle.
It tears the knee out.
But he slipped out of it.
He did a good job.
He kept moving.
And he keeps punishing.
Everything he throws, he throws a punishment with it.
He's done a good job.
Look at Kitayoka gasping for air like a fish out of water.
And we've still got a long way to go in this second stanza.
Locking up the left arm of Masvidal.
Closes the guard now.
Opens it up again.
It has been Masvidal's fight so far.
Kitayoka has had the submission attempts
but Masvidal has just outworked him.
Outstruck him.
Some palm heel strikes there
from Kitayoka.
Not even like palm heel strikes.
More like he's patting him on the side of the head.
Not even like anything else.
Maybe an up kick.
And referee says back to your feet, Satoru.
And again, Masvidal goes to work.
Oh! Big right hand!
It's good!
The upset!
Wow!
Awesome stuff from Masvidal.
Pretty much how we talked about
it was going to happen at the fight.
To be honest, I didn't think it was going to happen
in the second round as much as I thought
it was going to happen in the third round.
Kitayoka is out.
Masvidal doing one of the
very best celebratory
gestures we have seen yet.
And he's hardly
raised a sweat, Jorge Masvidal.
The only one
so far here tonight that the bookmakers
got wrong. They had Kitayoka as
a favorite, minus 160.
Masvidal a plus 130.
And he has pounded out the former
champion in the second round
and done it in style, guys.
I think that even
in your heart you knew that Masvidal
was going to win this. I think you just kind of liked the guy.
And look at Guy, they've got the stretcher
out in front of us here. They're going to maybe stretch
a Kitayoka out of the ring. Take us through it once more.
Yeah, I mean, he just got it. Boom!
That's fifth,
sixth, seventh hard
shot.
And he took a beating
before. I mean, this is not...
Hello Japan!
Konnichiwa!
Come on!
I love Japan, but does Japan love me?
Thank you, Japan.
I love being here.
I've had four fights since in Google.
One I got robbed, and today I won decisively.
I think I deserve a title shot.
Please, Japan. Kitaoka was a great opponent.
If I wasn't a
superhuman, I would have tapped.
My leg, he fucked it up.
Thank you, Japan. Have a good night, everybody.
The 19th career victory
for Jorge Masvidal
and Kitayoka still on the canvas
here and in the hands of our
physicians. I'll tell you what,
if Kitayoka contemplated quitting
mixed martial arts after he lost the bout to
Hirota, this may very
well have been the last time we've seen
Satoru Kitayoka
in the ring.
The most devastating
career loss yet
for the former champion.
Well, you know, he doesn't
change his game plan.
It's the same style
he uses every single time.
People are going to figure it out. It's not like
the athletes aren't getting better and smarter.
I mean, they are. They're getting a lot better,
a lot smarter. They're figuring them out.
And, folks,
still to come here at Sengoku
11, Jorge Santiago,
Mahmoud Khalidov, Omigaron
Hiyoki, when we return
to Tokyo.
