Hi everyone!
Okay, this is a video of dancing in my car.
It is a 40-count, two-wall, easy intermediate dance
by José Miguel Villarven, Alison Johnstone, and Jean-Pierre Madge.
And the music is Fast Car by Luke Holmes.
So everybody that came to the class last evening
and you want to practice this dance a little bit,
we will do it.
Okay, thank you.
So we start with a weight on our right.
We're going to do left side, right back, grip, cover,
right block, step, step, left pivot, half turn,
a left block, step.
Okay?
Again.
Side, back, grip, cover, right block, step, step,
left pivot, half turn, a left block, step.
Last time with the counts.
One, two, three, four, and five, six, seven, eight, and one.
So the next eight counts, I'm going to do it here.
I'm going to reverse it just so that you could understand
what the move is.
So we finish with a left block, step.
We're going to go diagonally out,
diagonally out, left, right back, block, step, grip, cover.
Then you're going to do a half turn, right back,
and a quarter turn, left side.
Okay, we're going to go a little bit closer here.
Yeah, that's a little better.
Okay.
So we go right out, left out, right back, block, step,
grip, cover, half, quarter, and the weight is on your left.
So with the counts, let's finish the left block, step,
eight, and one, two, three, four, and five, recover, six,
half turn, seven, quarter turn, eight.
Perfect.
So now we're going to do those steps at the right wall.
Okay?
So we start with left side, back, recover, right block, step,
step left, do the half turn, left block, step, right out, left out,
right back, block, step, recover, half, quarter.
Perfect.
Okay, so we finished with the weight on our left.
Now we're going to do a samba step, right cross, rock, recover.
Then you're going to cross again, pitch, cross, back, quarter turn, shuffle.
Cha, cha, cha.
Okay, so again, we finished with the weight on our left, and we finished with six,
seven, eight.
So we're going to do a samba, cross, rock, recover.
That's one and two.
Cross, three, pitch, four, cross, five, back, six, buckle, seven, and eight.
And samba, one and two, cross, pitch, cross, back, cha, cha, cha.
Perfect.
Let's do it right from the beginning.
We're more than half finished.
Oops, I'll come back.
We'll start with the basics.
Side, back, recover, right block, step, step, left pivot, a left block, step, right out,
left out, right back, block, step, recover, half, quarter, samba, one and two, cross,
pitch, cross, back, quarter turn, shuffle.
One more time, I don't know if you saw all of that.
So left side, back, recover, right block, step, step, left pivot, half turn, a left block,
step, right out, left out, back block, step, recover, half, quarter, samba, one and two,
cross, pitch, cross, back, cha, cha, cha.
Perfect.
So now we finish with a weight on our left and we're going to do a crosswalk recover
and we end up at 1030.
Crosswalk recover.
Okay?
The count is one and two.
We're going to step on our right, we're going to swivel, swivel, three and four, back,
sweep, back, sweep, right coaster, step.
Okay.
So again, we finished with the weight on our right and we're going to crosswalk recover,
quarter turn to the 1030.
Crosswalk recover, step, step, swivel, swivel, back, sweep, back, sweep, right coaster, step.
Okay, let's do that for the counts.
A one and two, three and four, five, six, seven and eight.
Perfect.
Let's do that from the beginning.
Five, six, seven, eight, side, back, recover, right block, step, step, left pivot, half
turn, a left block, step, out, out, a back block, step, recover, half, quarter, samba,
step, cross, hitch, cross, back, side, chapel, block, recover, quarter, step, swivel, swivel,
back, sweep, back, sweep, coaster, step.
Okay?
So in the step sheet it said one-eighth over right, rocking left, recover right.
I think I misinterpreted that in the class, okay?
So I had done this, rock, recover, but in fact it's just a side rock, recover, which
makes a lot more sense.
Left side rock, recover, left cross shuffle, quarter, quarter, cross shuffle.
Sorry, that didn't work out good.
Okay?
So we finished with the coaster step, and we're going to do right, left rock, recover,
left cross shuffle, quarter, quarter, right cross shuffle.
That makes much more sense than last evening.
Okay, sorry about that everybody.
So again, we finished with the coaster, seven and eight, and one, two, cross shuffle, three
and four, quarter, five, quarter, six, and seven and eight, cross shuffle.
Okay, I tried to make it so that you could see me.
So that is the end of the dance.
So let us do the full front wall, and I'm going to teach the back wall.
Okay?
Five, six, seven, eight.
Left side, back, recover, right block step, step, half turn, left block step, out, out,
back block step, recover, half, quarter, samba, one and two, cross, pitch, cross, back, cha-cha-cha,
rock, recover, quarter, step, swivel, swivel, sweep, sweep, and a coaster step, left rock,
recover, left cross shuffle, quarter, quarter, and a cross shuffle.
Okay?
Let us do, I'm going to try to stay on the proper, try to say it more over here.
Okay, from the beginning.
Five, six, seven, eight.
Left side, back, recover, right block step, step, left and a half turn, a left block step,
step, recover, half, quarter, samba, one and two, cross, pitch, cross, back, cha-cha-cha,
rock, recover, quarter, step, swivel, swivel, sweep, sweep, right coaster step, left rock,
recover, left cross shuffle, quarter, quarter, and a cross shuffle.
Perfect.
So that would be the end of the second wall.
How was that?
So, so, so now let's, one more time, we're going to do the both walls and then I'll show
you the tags and the research.
I just want to do one more review on the back wall.
Left side, back, recover, right block step, step, half, turn, left block step, out, half,
shuffle, back block step, recover, half, quarter, samba, one and two, cross, pitch,
cross, back and a cha-cha-cha, a rock, recover, quarter, step, swivel, swivel, sweep, sweep,
coaster step, left rock, recover, left cross shuffle, quarter, quarter, and a cross shuffle.
Perfect.
So, one more time the two walls, no let's do the tags first and then we'll do the two
walls and that will be the end of the tape.
So during the fifth wall, which is wall one, two, three, four, starts in the front, you're
going to dance up to the part step, swivel, swivel, you're going to put your weight on
your right to restart the dance.
Okay?
So take it from the rock, recover, cross, a rock, recover, quarter, step, swivel, swivel,
begin the dance, side, back, recover.
Okay?
Does that make sense?
So let's do it, let's do that wall up to the restart.
Side, back, recover, right block step, step, half, turn, left block step, right, out, left,
out, back block step, recover, half, quarter.
So on the one and two, cross, hitch, drop, back, shuffle, a rock, recover, step, swivel,
swivel, side, back, recover.
That's the restart.
Okay?
Then on wall seven, facing at the end of wall seven, you're going to do the tag, which is
Okay?
So those are the two tags, the restart and the tag, and let's do the two walls just to
sort of cement it, and then I'll see you in class next week.
Five, six, seven, eight.
Left side, back, recover, right block step, step, half, turn, left block step, out, out,
back block step, recover, half, quarter.
Samba step, cross, hitch, cross, back, shut, shut, shut, a rock, recover, quarter, step,
swivel, swivel, switch, straight, poster, step, left, rock, recover, cross, shuffle,
quarter, quarter, and a cross, shuffle.
Perfect!
That's it.
I think I just said I was going to do the back wall too.
Sorry.
Let's do the back wall now.
Left side, back, recover, right block step, step, half, turn, left block step, out, out,
back block step, recover, half, quarter.
Samba step, cross, hitch, cross, back, shut, shut, shut, rock, recover, quarter, step,
swivel, swivel, sweep, sweep, and a poster, step, rock, recover, cross, shuffle, quarter,
quarter, and a cross, shuffle.
Perfect!
See you in class.
Hope this video helps.
Bye.
