God’s word is medicine! Proverbs 4:20-22 NLT says “My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body.” Just like natural medicine has to be taken according to directions to be effective, we have to take God’s Word according to His instructions to be effective.

Be faithful to follow the instructions for taking God’s medicine. You can’t decide what the instructions are yourself, you have to follow God’s instructions in order for His medicine to work. God’s instructions are:

Pay attention to the Word of God
Let it penetrate deep in your heart, your spirit, by reading and speaking the Word
Repeat, repeat, repeat until it’s full in your spirit
Follow any additional instructions He gives you
