Netherlands vs Japan | Women's VNL 2025

just coming in off the line for petition for boom thank you next yeah nice inside set two to ishikawa so it wasn't pushed out to the pin it was inside a little bit more water coming out and brilliant in defense by the dutch what's it was he kept it in play down bring the try to finish and that looks good oh my word she almost ended up in a rubbish bin but yes you don't but thought better of charging too far visions in this first set we're in play that is superb supreme it's irene she has been so impressive at the net engaged by japan wada doesn't get it through so dam bring we'll have a go down the line and rob says yep that was in dambrink had just one blocker ishikawa well i know the dutch are known for their dams and nice slide as ever japan seemed to have the answers there's shimomura on the slide as well but it's not good enough karate then from michino and then dambrink seemed to be reaching for that couldn't get the pipe of where she wanted it switching play the block is there so to his water what a great connection six points then to dambrink how did she wrap her right hand around that what control and power some kind of an illusion but top score in the match there with eight not bad for someone who's nervous beforehand but she's taken to it really well just as her coach could have reacted and anyone who's watched her in the sv league would know as yeah i'm second right now i just love the offense she's nice fast middle just one win very low key and that was against kenya with all due respect watch for the kind of space a bit of a hole instead kojima was there and that's wada put across court a rare prize point shimomura on the slide it's all hands on deck at the moment it seems for the netherlands they've got enough people it seems have they really got six players on court they're just going back another free ball for japan and put away by yoshino just coming onto it the court just opened up and she's into double figures yeah and seymour had a couple cracks at it here in the front row indy bynes can she keep the netherlands in this second set well she served but ishikawa captain ishikawa rose put the ball to the ground it's 25 15 and it's two sets to zero in favor of japan the world right number seven netherlands looking to avoid a whitewash measured it at least he keeps it in play boss has to steady herself it wasn't the best set and here comes yoshino and that's good enough the pipe where she wanted and the message also from koslovsky was clear we need to get the ball you knew that was coming but could not have been better placed for yoshino ball and yoshino definitely started this party look at that no blocking down absolutely hot and there's just being silent shut down and this is what happens he's going again now that's more like it's exactly what she wanted and that's what needs to come for the netherlands because otherwise in this boss got down but not quick enough and another well-judged video challenge by the japanese life disguised by buy-ins but guess what japan are the answer and then they have the point once again so automatic ishikawa is one of those players that you die to have on a team you could see it coming that's exactly where why they wanted it is exactly how they would have practiced and the ball is dispatched with in this instant shimomura look at the angle she's taking for soil and that's where she started where the ball finishes up well and that was a great pass from the dutch perfect side out pass goes right up to bonn now we need to yasper is not just hester but also married but she's also injured too another problem for felix kostovsky to negotiate and right now the japanese just hosting in this match making things look easy but look at the precision of this serve single win both of them wanting to improve in this quadrennium well it was like they'd run out of steam according to coach kostovsky nicely put away by yoshino to get through the emotion we just mentioned that now it's three sets when canada had the chance to come back and by the time good block irons that's very close to the net oh brilliantly played outstanding i feel like they want this game to go a little longer out of the classroom this has got to go over at least it is good defense but a chance now shimomura goes level oh my word that's racing to get in the face and still japanese like defense by the netherlands what a great point best of the match ishikawa puts it away my word she doesn't what a dig that was and now eventually it goes to ground akimoto 18 years old on seemingly for the kudo glass for japan applies the finishing touch the defense in this rally the relentlessness to not give up on the ball take note at home replay great future he says only 18 this is match points oh and one is saved well played by iris foss and i was watching akimoto because she was the one that got burned there to try to block together in the german league still can't get it down shimomura and ishikawa applies the finishing touch and the captain on her first appearance in the role claims victory for japan 25 16 they've swept the netherlands in
