Hello!
Our planet is so diverse and unpredictable that there will always be places on it that will surprise and inspire everyone.
However, the strongest impressions are caused by what is hard for us to even imagine.
For example, an inaccessible castle that seems to float in the air,
a gigantic river made of large stones,
or lonely rocks in the shape of strange, natural figures.
That is, everything that is amazing and stands out in our perception.
And believe me, there are a lot of such places on Earth.
The Great Stone River Taganay
The Taganay National Park is a complex of mountain ridges in the southern Ural Mountains in Russia.
It stretches for 25 kilometers and its peaks reach 1178 meters above sea level.
It is here, between the ridges of the Great and Medium Taganay, that the Great Stone River is located.
A surprising and impressive natural formation that is a real miracle of nature.
The Stone River consists of a cluster of huge boulders, some of which weigh up to 10 tons.
The boulders are arranged in 3-4 layers and reach at least 4.5 meters deep,
which is surprising, because water flows under them, whose quiet murmur can be heard.
The Stone River takes its origin from small stone streams on the slopes of the mountains,
transforming into a huge stream of boulders.
Its total length is about 6 kilometers, and its width is up to 500 meters.
Scientists still cannot unambiguously determine how these stone limestones were formed.
According to one theory, the river was formed after the descent of a large glacier from the Taganay Mountains.
Currently, however, the stones do not move, because the slope of the ridge does not exceed 2.5 degrees.
Victoria Falls, Zambia and Zimbabwe
This is one of the largest and most beautiful waterfalls in the world.
It is a natural miracle, nearly 2 kilometers wide.
Its height also amazes, it is about 100 meters.
It is the only waterfall in the world that reaches over 100 meters in height and over a kilometer in width.
The indigenous population of South Africa called it a thundering smoke.
Mossy Oatunia, and it really is.
Only in the 19th century, the waterfall was named after Queen Victoria.
Currently, the waterfall is located on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The impressions it evokes are difficult to compare with anything else.
The most accurate comparison was presented by a researcher from Africa, David Livingstone,
saying that only angels can see such beauty in flight.
Today, this waterfall is wanted not only by angels and not only by birds.
It is located more or less in the middle of the Zambezi River, another attraction of these areas.
A little above the Victoria Falls flows a river along the basaltic plate.
There are many small islands in its current.
The closer to the waterfall, the more islands there are.
Paintingly? Undoubtedly.
Guilin Mountains, China
In China, an extraordinary stone forest stretches over the bank of the Lijiang River.
These are incredible limestone rock formations hidden under the green cover of vegetation.
Numerous vertical rocks, which have not formed for hundreds but thousands of years,
stick close to each other and stand almost vertically, creating a unique mountain range.
The roots of small trees cling to the rocky slopes, and the rock shelves grow steep lianas.
The whole thing creates intense colors that immediately attract the eye.
In addition, the green hills are crossed by numerous tunnels and caves,
which arouse a lot of interest.
The charming limestone hills and rock towers in these mountains attract tourists not only from China, but from all over the world.
Lensoy-Smaranenses National Park, Brazil
This incredibly unique place on a global scale is located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean
and is the most extraordinary desert landscape.
In the dry season, huge sandy dunes are crossed by countless freshwater lagoons,
and the view stretches for tens of kilometers.
However, in January, along with the arrival of the rainy season,
the freshwater lagoons overflow and the water takes up more and more territory with sand.
The desert, which is formed by 40-meter-long dunes, which is extremely impressive,
transforms into a landscape with a lot of deep freshwater lakes.
This unique phenomenon is due to the huge number of rainfall that occurs during the rainy season.
They reach even 1,600 millimeters per year.
The water simply cannot evaporate or sink into the ground fast enough,
which makes this park one of the most unique places in the world.
The Sigiriya Fortress is located in the central part of Sri Lanka
and is one of the most popular attractions on the island.
It is a rock plateau that rises almost 180 meters above the surrounding plain,
which is an unforgettable impression.
The Europeans learned about Sigiriya only at the end of the 19th century,
although the fortress on the top of the mountain was built about 15 centuries ago
under the rule of King Kashyapa, who made Sigiriya his capital.
Currently, there are ruins of the Upper Palace on the top of the rock,
and there are also reservoirs carved in the rock that still collect water.
According to one of the hypotheses, these reservoirs, in addition to their practical function,
could also serve as a numbering bed for the king as a place to spend time.
Accordingly, it can be stated that the wall paintings in the Sigiriya Fortress,
on which the naked bedwetting queens reigned, were the king's favorite motif.
Originally, the entrance to the fortress was a lion figure with a wide mouth.
Unfortunately, only its individual fragments, mainly paws, have survived.
Currently, to get to the top, you have to overcome over 1,000 degrees.
Sigiriya is not only the rock itself, but also the area around it.
It is the first example of such complex ancient urban planning in history.
Numerous hydraulic systems, some of which still function today,
penetrate the entire plateau, creating vast and miniature pools,
the central part of which is the majestic Citadel.
Torres del Paine National Park, Chile
The National Park is located in the south of Chile, in Patagonia,
and is completely isolated from the outside world.
Its name comes from three granite mountains in the shape of a needle,
located in its central part,
whose height ranges from 2,600 to 2,850 meters.
In the language of the Indian Mapuche, Torres del Paine means the Blue Tower.
It is one of the most unusual natural landscapes.
What's more, in the National Park, with an area of 2,420 square kilometers,
there are also glaciers, fjords and beautiful lakes.
Manpopuner Rock Formations, Russia
The Manpopuner Rock Formations is a complex of seven monumental stone columns
that will decorate the plateau located between two rivers,
Pechora and Iłycze in the Komi Republic.
These stone columns are 32 to 40 meters high
and make an unforgettable impression.
The rock formations, built of the hardest rocks,
were formed as a result of the destruction of the Ural Mountains
under the influence of the wind and atmospheric rainfall.
The stone columns are located at the very edge of the Ural Mountains of the Balwan Idols,
as they are called by local residents.
These columns have fantastic shapes and, depending on the angle of view,
may resemble the head of a horse, a ram or a huge figure.
No wonder that the rocky ice of the Mansons connects numerous legends with them.
And indeed, looking at the lonely figures in the middle of the desolate plateau,
you can feel an extraordinary power of this place.
In winter, covered with snow, these stone remains look especially spectacular.
The Manson-Michel Fortress, France
On the north-western coast of France, on a rocky mountain,
which during the flood turns into an island,
a unique city fortress rises.
Many centuries before our era,
this unusual granite mountain was the holy place of the Celts.
It was here that the Druids conducted talks with their gods,
until they were expelled by the Romans.
Over time, this mysterious place began to be called a tomb mountain.
Then, after hundreds of years, interest in the mountain rose again.
Until the 11th century, a religious complex was formed here,
the Manson-Michel Fortress,
which became the most important pilgrimage center of medieval Christianity.
Then the island also began to take on its current shape.
Only twice a day, the sea revealed its muddy bottom
and opened this dangerous passage.
Many pilgrims and invaders died in the moving sands of the bay
or drowned in the waves of the tide, not reaching their desired destination.
Manson-Michel has a complicated and long history behind it.
Today, this natural-historical complex
is one of the most famous tourist sites in the world
and the second most visited place in France.
A specific infrastructure was created to improve its accessibility for tourists.
Manson-Michel is absolutely unique.
There is simply no competitor in the world for this lonely mountain,
standing in the middle of a perfectly flat plain
crowned with a raw monastery and surrounded by inaccessible walls.
It all looks really fairytale and unreal.
Perhaps that is why the image of the city
served as inspiration when designing the city of Minas Tirith
in the trilogy of the film The Lord of the Rings.
The Pinnacles Desert, Australia
This extraordinary desert is located in Western Australia.
The most unique are the natural stone pillars in it, the Pinnacles.
They are not too high, they are 1 to 5 meters high,
but their number and surprising shapes are really amazing.
Many of these stones resemble the shape of human silhouettes or animals.
Some people perceive them as beings not from this world.
Regardless of interpretation, the whole is a view that is extremely impressive.
As for the stone towers themselves,
researchers have not yet reached an agreement on their origin.
The windmills of Kinderdijk, Holland
19 windmills in the village of Kinderdijk, not far from Rotterdam,
are one of the main attractions of Holland.
They were built around 1740.
Their basic and most important task was to maintain the appropriate water level.
Thanks to this, it was possible to avoid flooding a significant part of the lowlands.
Not always, however, the windmills of Kinderdijk coped with this task.
Do they still fulfill their original function?
This is not important, because they still look really amazing and captivating.
In winter, when the canals freeze, people come to the ice.
Skiing on frozen canals is one of the residents' favorite entertainment.
There are many places on Earth where Buddha statues are placed.
From miniature to incredibly large.
Each of them has its own meaning and a special interpretation.
It is similar to the Buddha Maitreya, the Bodhisattva of the future.
The statue of the Great Buddha from Leshan is also unique.
It was carved directly into the rock and, measuring 71 meters,
is one of the highest Bodhisattva statues in the world.
For many centuries, it was the highest sculptural work on Earth.
The statue is carved in the Lin Yun Shan mountain massif at the junction of three rivers.
The Buddha's face is facing the holy mountain Emei Shan, which is opposite.
People from the Tang dynasty worked on creating the statue for 90 years.
For 10 centuries, the face of the Buddha was hidden from people in the temple,
which served as a pavilion for such a large image.
Only after the temple was destroyed, the face of the Buddha appeared to the world.
The Namib Desert is a place where absolute emptiness prevails.
It is one of the driest and most barren deserts.
Its dryness extends for almost 2,000 kilometers along the Atlantic Ocean coast
and deep into the continent at a distance of 50 to 160 kilometers.
The most interesting thing in the Namib Desert is the line in which the desert meets the ocean.
All true travelers know about it and call it the place where the desert meets the ocean.
This coast is so beautiful and unique
that it is impossible to find a second such place in the world.
Lake Baikal, Russia
Baikal is the most beautiful lake located in the southern part of eastern Siberia.
It is the largest natural reservoir of fresh water, as well as the deepest lake in the world.
Anyone who appreciates the unforgettable moments and stunning views wants to get here.
In some places, the depth of Baikal reaches more than 1,500 meters.
This place is shrouded in legends and surrounded by wild, virgin nature.
The summer Baikal is beautiful, but the frozen Lake Baikal is no less impressive.
The ice makes the lake really hypnotizing.
Through the upper layer of ice you can admire the underwater kingdom.
In turn, the patterns of cracks that form on its surface are simply incredible
and amaze with their beauty and diversity.
It is said that the frozen Lake Baikal is a place where the cosmos is in the sky and under your feet.
And it is difficult to disagree with this statement.
Cappadocia, Turkey
Cappadocia is one of the most unique and recognizable regions of Turkey.
It is a geological miracle shaped by eruptions and volcanic eruptions,
erosion of rocks and wind, as well as the action of rivers and torrential rains.
All these factors contributed to the creation of this extraordinary landscape.
The erosion of stones and layering of volcanic dust create unforgettable views.
The volcanic rock, tufa, which formed as a result of ancient eruptions,
turned out to be a soft and plastic material.
That is why the people who settled these areas began to dig their houses directly in the rocks.
Cappadocia is crossed by underground cities and vast cave monasteries with a thousand-year-old tradition.
Tourists, flying balloons into the hot air, can admire the unique natural landscape of the region from a height,
and dozens, or even hundreds of balloons in the sky have long been a landmark of Cappadocia.
Pagan Kingdom, Myanmar, Burma
Half-spherical stupas, pagodas, monasteries and temples are the biggest attractions of the ancient Pagan.
Today it is the only heritage of this place.
Thousands of ancient cult buildings, some of which have been destroyed over time.
Yes, it is a dead city that has become an archaeological zone, attracting curious tourists.
The view is impressive, and the scale is shocking when we realize that it was all built over 700 years ago.
The landscape of these areas is diverse.
In some places you can see green overgrows or individual palms,
but there are also areas where the space between the temples turns into a scorched desert.
The buildings there are varied in size.
The most significant ones are covered with gold, but most of them are stupas built of red and white bricks.
Once upon a time, this city was full of life and served as the capital,
but history has engulfed all its former significance, leaving only ruins of amazing beauty.
And that's all for today. Give a thumbs up if the video was interesting, leave a comment and see you soon.
