hey guys welcome back to the channel today we're looking at the all-new viofo a229 Duo dash cam this has just been just released in the last few weeks so we thought it was a good time to check it out after viewing the release details for the a229 there was a few obvious changes from the recent viofo dash cams this New Edition comes with a bigger viewing screen GPS logger Quad HD both front and rear camera which is 2560 by 1440 or between full high definition and 4K complete design change for the rear camera it's now Barrel Style a super slim coax cable for easier installation and an external mic support all right let's see what's in the box okay so dual Channel Quad HD Sony starvis IMX 335 5 megapixel sensor enhance five gigahertz Wi-Fi GPS logger and just while we're on the five gigahertz Wi-Fi if you're planning on viewing files via the app choose the file length between one or two minutes maximum this will reduce the time it takes to download a file just while I remember the front camera has a 140 degree view angle and the rear has a 160 degree viewing angle so you won't miss much of the read okay the unit's obviously a little bigger than the previous versions with a 2.4 inch screen this side has a power in and reset button this side's got a new type c coax connector micro SD card slot and external microphone input on the front GPS module is built in to the Mount and has an up and down adjustable camera lens we put that to the side for now what else we got in here some instructions and full English user manual style camera I must say i do like this style better than the previous square style one this is a power cable to view with a monitor or PC the super slim coax spare mounting tape and USB micro card reader trimmer removal tool and a 12 volt power adapter and cable you'd only need this if you were not setting up parking mode okay these are all the optional accessories the CPL filter I might leave this in its Packaging I'll lose it otherwise we've opted for a CPL filter on this install the paints very white and you get a lot of feedback from the Bonnet so hopefully the CPL filter will cut a little bit of this down the hk4 hard wired kit and we've opted for the 128 vioifo Micro SD card all right front and rear camera is now installed we go let's have a look at some of the settings now or the menu obviously setting it to the highest resolution Loop recording video bitrate wide dynamic range exposure to the front and rear camera record audio g sensor Wi-Fi recording and Park motion detection parking g sensor parking mode timer parking recording duration time-lapse recording live video source rear image rotate image mirror GPS speed unit GPS stamp date stamp model stamp license plate number text stamp beep sound book delay language voice notification date and time Zone hertz frequency screensaver format and format reminder most cameras now have got some type of format reminder please set it maybe a fortnight or monthly it just reminds you to reformat the card this clears any corrupt files and consider it like a service for your memory card it's the only thing you should need to to do for your dash cam and the firmware version foreign now for a few minutes from both day and night number plate check a field of view test and a motion detection parking clip enjoy foreign foreign foreign foreign we've tested this camera for about a month now and it's ran flawlessly I've got absolutely no issues in recommending it at all it's very well priced for front and rear dash cam setup coming in at around four hundred dollars this includes the parking mode and the 128 gig card for the features included you really can't go wrong I like the refinements that have been made for this series the rear camera improvements and the type C power connector is welcome I can confirm that the viofo download speed for a one minute clip via the app and the five gigahertz Wi-Fi was 12 seconds directly to your phone another feature that might be of benefit to some of you is the external microphone maybe for Ride share drivers or or those of you who Vlog while driving number plate and field of view playback was exceptional as you saw there's no issue viewing numbers and signs or letters on number plates on playback 256 gigabyte is the maximum size card you can use with this unit here's the specs thanks for watching make sure you send us some footage catch you next time
