Best Trio in Volleyball History - Yuji Nishida, Yuki Ishikawa & Ran Takahashi. This is a volleyball trio that helps the volleyball team Japan make every win in the Volleyball Nations League 2022 (Men's VNL 2022).
Yuji Nishida (西田 有志, Nishida Yūji, born 30 January 2000) is a Japanese male volleyball player. Currently, he plays for JTEKT Stings in V.League Division 1.
Nishida made his debut with JTEKT Stings at V.League on 6 January 2018 in a match against Osaka Blazers Sakai. His impressive debut at the young age of 17 soon earned him a position in JTEKT's Starting 6,[3] as well as Japan men's national volleyball team. Nishida also led the team finishing 7th place after 29 years, in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Yūki Ishikawa (石川祐希, Ishikawa Yūki, born 11 December 1995) is a Japanese male professional volleyball player from Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture.
Ishikawa is the first volleyball player to have a wax figure in Japan.[1] Currently, his wax figure is displayed at Madame Tussauds Tokyo.[2]
Ishikawa was named "Best Outside Spiker" award at the FIVB World Cup (2015, 2019), Asian Championship (2017, 2019, 2021), as well as "Most Valuable Player" award at the Asian Championship (2017).
As of April 2021, Ishikawa is the captain of the Japan men's national volleyball team, and plays as an outside hitter. He currently plays in the Italian Volleyball League for Allianz Milano.
Ran Takahashi (髙橋 藍 or たかはしらん, Takahashi Ran, born 2 September 2001) is a Japanese male volleyball player and an Olympian. He plays as an Outside Hitter for Nippon Sport Science University's club,[1] Japan men's national volleyball team and Pallavolo Padova.
Yes! That has gone to Spiketown.
He's creating a whole new city.
Oh my goodness, Denani's just thinking,
oh I'm glad it didn't hit me.
That one was out of the stadium.
Sake Oil has come on for the 9.
Right touch.
Oh my goodness, if Ishikawa had read that a little better
he might have had a full swing on that.
That would have been embarrassing for Sanchez.
It wasn't in the end though and it's a point for Japan.
Nishida bringing the heat.
Sending the crowd crazy yet again.
When you're able to serve like that,
it just turns things around.
Another big swing.
That's hit very early by Ren Takahashi.
Touchdown by Sakita.
Right blocking.
Another chance here for Nishida.
It's phenomenal.
Lima with his head in his hands.
Palacios is looking at the line here.
This swing is right in between.
They've gone after Sanchez again.
They've stacked him over that side
and Sakita knows he's there.
He's putting Nishida against him.
A serve.
It's a transition here for Japan.
They've got an attack opportunity.
And then it's just hammered away.
It's so fast.
So quick the arm comes down.
You've got no chance to react.
Really good dig by Yamamoto.
And a roller this time from Nishida.
Argentina players are there sat on their heels.
They're thinking here comes a big swing.
Here comes the boom.
But no.
Nishida just cuts it.
And gets the point.
We've got four players moving around Sakita
and then coming in on the pipe attack
from the middle of the back row.
You've got this.
And look at that.
Just making adjustments all the time.
Trying to get touches,
which Argentina do.
They can't guide it back to it.
Sakita's keeping his arm where he is.
What a great up by Sakita.
Power tip.
That will work.
It's allowed.
Oh yes.
Phenomenal play.
And now it's a match point for Japan.
Argentina look to have control of that rally.
Looked like they were going to get the ball back.
Scramble, scramble.
Block out.
Poblano-Shikawa.
With the heater.
And it's an ace serve for Nishida.
He's thrown everything into this.
And then some.
Fast ball.
You've got to be kicking.
It's the fastest of fast balls.
Palacios couldn't deal with it.
118 kilometres an hour.
It's an urgency.
It might come back.
Oh, it won't come back.
Desperate effort by Luciano Vicentin.
Palacios made the touch,
but it just could not be recycled.
Just to pull on.
Every time Nishida has a snake,
he's there to be hit.
And it gets hit.
And it's properly hit.
Even by putting Sanchez out on the other side,
they know where he is.
So Sanchez is trying to hide in the block.
Oh, goodness.
Another big swing.
Both teams now really delivering some heavy blows.
This is one of the big three lately.
Just picking up days.
He's got one, two, many quarters in.
Cross to the middle.
That one didn't work.
Well played, Nishida.
Oh, I just give up.
I have got no more words.
Spike Tang doesn't do that one justice.
Gets himself ready.
It's going to rain some pain on Argentina.
Oh, chicken wing.
Move that side.
No, that's it.
So we're going to have a look at that.
They look to be...
That's miles ahead.
They've passed pretty much.
Got the blocks there again.
Got that side.
No, that's better.
That's more like it for Ishikawa.
That's what he's got to do.
He's got to go over Sanchez.
That will do.
Inside my own world of make-believe.
Kids...
What a shame.
It won't come back.
It was well read by Denani.
But now Japan beginning to mix it up a bit.
Argentina guessing.
They're not too sure.
You can see how Denani sat for that.
Here comes the big hit.
Makes a good adjustment.
But no one else can get to it.
Ace serve again.
Ishikawa.
Big hit.
Ishikawa.
Side out Japan.
Wow.
There's threats everywhere, isn't there?
If it's not Nishida, it's Ishikawa.
If it's not Ishikawa, it's Yamauchi.
Or Tomington.
Pretty slick really cross court there.
Well done.
