The Carthaginians founded the port around 223 B.C. It boomed during the Roman period and the ruins are there to be seen including 1st-century B.C. Roman theatre. It apparently has 72 coves and beaches. It is easy to walk to as the ship docks at the port.

This is one of our earliest videos. Please see the later videos on this channel by Jean and Stuart. It is mainly on cruising with ship tours and port guides. We hope these films form useful research and help you remember ports you have been to and show friends.
Not everyone gets cruising, they like paying winter fuel bills at home (LOL - not), so if you know someone who is not a cruiser - and we were not, didn't think we would like it, and almost never went even though it was at no cost to us - then look at a few films. We went on that first cruise (sent by ITV to talk about Emmerdale). We loved it, we got addicted, and after a few cruises, we started Doris Visits. I would suggest that if someone says they didn't like cruising, it is like saying they don't like hotels. That is all a ship is, a floating hotel. I would suggest that their negative experience is because they chose the wrong ship, and we list over 450 ships on Doris Visits. www.DorisVisits.com

Enjoy our port videos and ship tours. Consider, as with land hotels, ship per night costs range from about £60 to a thousand pounds a night. There is obviously a difference. We can dream of £1000 luxury but must be realistic when travelling coach. We enjoy even the most budget ships as they all have such different and varied areas you can choose what and where to eat and drink.
NOTHING ON THE TV?
If you enjoy a great (audio) drama then we ask you to listen to and like the first of this thrilling crime mystery drama that received an official 5-star rating and a nomination from the top American online bookclub, and mostly top ratings on Amazon (Book, Kindle, Audiobook). It is free to listen to on YouTube and there are nearly 70 x 12 min (approx.) episodes loaded. Nearly 1000 hours in three series. Film deal discussions are ongoing. Find it first here =

When there is nothing on TV then please try it. It plays out as an audio story to films of ships and ports you need not watch because it is a gripping thrilling story.
