The US and China are both preparing for war.
China gets a constructive kill on the Royal Navy.
And why is Philly celebrating the CCP?
That and more on this week's China news headlines.

I'll tell you more in a bit.
Renowned Hong Kong pro-democracy activist Nathan Law
has been denied entry to Singapore.
But the situation could have been much, much worse.
Law, a former legislator in Hong Kong,
fled the city in 2020 during the CCP takeover.
Now he's on a Hong Kong wanted list and lives in exile in Britain.
The thing is, Singapore has an extradition treaty with Hong Kong.
So when they stopped Law at the border,
they easily could have handed him over to Hong Kong authorities.
Instead, they just held him for a while,
and then deported him back to San Francisco, where his plane left from.
Which isn't great, but better than prison.
Law believes his deportation was political.
And a Singaporean official told the BBC that
Mr. Law's entry into and presence in the country
would not be in Singapore's national interests.
Which basically means that, yeah, it was political.
Canada's military is preparing for confrontation with China in the Arctic.
There are a lot of minerals in the Arctic.
And I mean a lot.
Minerals that China would love to get its hands on.
Because why help their own citizens when they can go treasure hunting globally,
like a Scrooge McDuck antagonist?
To that end, China has been sending more and more ships Canada's way.
Strictly for exploration purposes, you understand.
And China and Russia have held joint drills in the area as well.
But Canada isn't taking it lying down.
It's undertaking something called Operation Nanook.
The operation includes Canada's Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Navy,
tasked with maintaining a presence in the Arctic and doing surveillance.
Of course, considering just how deeply the CCP has influenced Ottawa,
I'm sure all they would need to do to get those ships to do absolutely nothing is
just ask nicely.

And now over to Philadelphia, America's former capital.
And current zombie capital.
Man, this American remake of 28 Days Later looks horrifying.
Sadly, Philly has something even more frightening going on than drug addicts.
Or its sports fans.
What did the traffic light ever do to you guys?
No, the real fright is the Chinese flag flying from City Hall.
The city's Office of Immigrant Affairs is marking the anniversary
of the Chinese Communist Party's founding,
and says this should help to promote cultural ties with sister city Tianjin.
Because nothing says promoting cultural ties like celebrating
a regime responsible for destroying so much culture.
Philly isn't alone.
San Francisco City Hall also held a Chinese flag raising ceremony
as an opportunity to build bridges.
Don't they know that building bridges, or literally anything,
isn't something the CCP excels at?
San Francisco and Philadelphia have previously held similar ceremonies,
joining Boston, New York City, and even the White House.
Representative John Molinar, who chairs the House Select Committee on the CCP,
sent a letter to the Philadelphia mayor to demand the cancellation of the flag raising
and its sister city partnership with Tianjin.
And Uyghur activist Rushan Abbas joined him in urging the cancellation,
saying that the city leaders need to stand with victims of tyranny.
Local officials, though, are defending the move,
saying other similar events were also held,
and none of them were necessarily an endorsement of other governments.
Yeah, I mean, it's not like flying a flag is an endorsement of a country.
These soldiers raising the American flag at Iwo Jima
weren't doing it in support of the US.
They were just vibing, man.
The local officials also claim this is an expression of support
and celebration of the city's Chinese community.
Huh, so Philadelphia loves to protest authoritarianism sometimes
while celebrating other authoritarians when suitable.
Good to know.
But there are already events like the Lantern Festival
that celebrate Philly's Chinese community
without celebrating one of America's foremost enemies that is a serial human rights abuser.
I guess that's the long arm of the CCP's influence for you.
This would be like someone with a swastika tattoo saying,
I don't support the Nazis.
I'm just celebrating Oktoberfest.
And after the break, the Pentagon is preparing for war with China.
Finally.
Welcome back.
The Pentagon is ordering weapons factories to crank up production
in preparation for war with China.
War with China is like Chris Brown's next violent outburst.
It's not a matter of if, but when.
Amid China's rapid military buildup and the CCP's regional aggression,
Washington is stepping up production of certain key items,
such as Patriot air defense systems,
long-range anti-ship missiles,
precision strike missiles,
and the standard Missile 6.
Considering that the US has used much of its stockpile
helping allies in Europe and the Middle East,
this is something that should have been done ages ago.
People familiar with the issue said the Pentagon is asking defense contractors
to massively increase the scale of production of about 12 systems in total.
But there are concerns that this will require a ton of money
and need to be done very quickly.
So it's definitely going to be challenging since
anyone who's ever worked with contractors on their house know
you can have things done fast, cheap, or well,
but you can only choose two out of the three.
And you're lucky if you can get one.
China carried out something called a constructive kill maneuver
on Royal Navy ships in the South China Sea.
The HMS Richmond was sailing through a disputed area
in the South China Sea near the Spratly Islands,
along with other ships and the HMS Prince of Wales aircraft carrier.
Officers on some of these ships reported being tracked and harassed by the PLAN.
One officer on the Prince of Wales said,
it's them pretending to kill us.
They follow the path they would go on if they were launching an attack.
It's an info war operation.
They want us to know they're targeting us.
But that British optimism is on full display because another officer said,
it's mutually beneficial in training terms.
The more they practice targeting you, the more you understand how they operate.
Oh, we've known how communists operate for decades.
We've also known the solution.
Classified US intelligence is warning about China's preparations for a Taiwan invasion.
Specifically, the Pentagon is worried about China's buildup of a commercial
ferry fleet that has been modified to carry tanks.
And seen on satellite images used alongside China's new landing docks.
And deploying amphibious forces in military exercises.
This isn't exactly new.
In 2022 alone, some 30 Chinese commercial ferries were monitored by the Five Eyes Intelligence,
in military exercises involving PLA troops.
More than 70 such large vessels are expected to be in the PLA's service by the end of next year.
So right before 2027, when some people think China will invade Taiwan.
And finally, a Space Force general is warning that China is the
number one threat to the US in space.
Which anyone who watched Space Force on Netflix already knew.
Lieutenant General Douglas Scheiss says that the CCP's space capabilities are
advancing at a rapid pace, and that they are bringing on capability,
I won't say daily, but at least monthly, that puts our assets at risk.
Monthly.
Their risks are coming on a more reliable schedule than most video game DLC packs.
