Cape Town, South Africa. - Cruise Terminal, Waterfront, Mandela, Penguins, Table Mountain and Wine - Jean leaves the Cruise Terminal and visits the Waterfront including the Time Out Building and the African Trading Post. She travels to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 of his 27 years. She then travels south down Chapmans Drive past the beaches and bays to visit the Penguins. Table Mountain and a Wine Tasting are included and she also passes through Bo-Kaap, the historic Cape Town neighbourhood characterised by its painted houses in contrasting pinks, reds, blues, and greens. It offers a unique local Muslim culture. That area can be accessed on foot; follow Wale Street in the direction of Signal Hill and take the narrow cobbled streets and brightly painted Cape Dutch-infused Edwardian-style houses. The Cape Of Good Hope is another 40 minutes on from Boulders Beach where the penguins are, and our guide suggested that it was a long way for more of the same, and you can't see Antarctica!
