An unforgettable encounter with an Alaska Coastal Brown Bear in the wild. According to a ranger and a local photographer, this young bear is believed to be around three and a half years old, and this year marks his first journey navigating life on his own without his mother. As a cub, he was shot in the right eye by a photographer who went off-trail to photograph him, his siblings, and their mother. Watching him move was surreal — scarred but thriving, he carries both formidable power and a quiet gentleness in his stride.
