See What The Wind Has Done

Good morning everybody. It is Monday morning and it's a nice day. It's very sunny and beautiful
but it is pretty windy. That's kind of the problem that we're going to be having a lot I think.
The temperature is going to be nice but it's going to be very windy which kind of takes some
of the fun out of it. But we're going to do the best we can with it and enjoy it while we can.
So what the job we're out here to do today is actually due to this really windy weather we've
been having. The other day it was so so windy like 45 mile per hour wind gusts or something like that
and we had that pile of tin down at the hog house from where the roof got replaced last fall
and that was the pile of tin that they took off of from the old roof. Well the wind just kind of
scattered that out and it's never a good thing when you look out the kitchen window and there's
huge sheets of tin going flying across the field but there's not exactly much you can do about it
in the moment. So I don't think it actually took any of it too far but it did make a mess of it
down there. So we want to get that cleaned up and starting tonight or tomorrow we actually have
some really nasty weather coming in. Rain is going to be coming in which is great because we need the
rain. Actually we really need the rain. It is we're in a drought right now. We have last year
around the time we finished planting the county started putting water restrictions on the farmers
saying that they can't be using the water for spraying and such because we just don't have
enough of it. Well we are just getting out of February and they already put out the restriction
saying that you basically can't use water for agricultural uses which is spraying and stuff.
So yeah we are in a drought right now. It is very dry. We need all the rain we can get.
So this rain coming in should be very good. I think they're saying up to an inch of rain which
would be amazing but we do want and then also possibly some snow coming in with that. We're
going to kind of see but anyways it's also supposed to be super windy so it's going to
be some pretty rough weather for the next two days. So we're going to go down there and get
that tent picked up before that rough weather comes in.
So over that hill is where the tent started over that way and
a few little pieces got blown all the way over here.

And really blew it around. Hey Belle. Oh girl.
All right we got just about all the tent loaded up and then the rest of these pieces are really
really long that they don't go on the trailer as well. So got it just about all loaded up though
and we're gonna take a little break here. Everybody's tired. The little ones that all
have been out here working hard this morning too and they did a good job but they're tired and about
ready for lunch. So we're gonna go up and have a little lunch break. Dad and Lemuel are over
feeding hay to the cows right now and yeah it's been a good morning. Side note it is very warm
out here today and just walking by the garden it really makes you inspired to get something planted
so might not be too long here before we get something going in the garden.
Update we have decided to go ahead and take this load of tent down to the salvage yard.
We still have some more down at the hog house this is just from one side but this is a pretty
good load right here so we're gonna get this strapped down good and head down to the salvage
of when you head off in an old farm truck with a trailer hitch that you put on yourself
with a big load of ten that's not exactly the prettiest load you've ever seen or best weight
distribution over the trailer you don't know what could happen so we are just thankful that we made
it down here in one piece. All the tires did well, the trailer hitch did well, and the trailer is
still attached to the truck so yeah we're calling this a success. We're gonna get it unloaded here
we're just waiting for somebody to come and run this machine and it's gonna get all unloaded and
then we will head back home but we do have a lot more ten to pick up at home but this is the worst
of the stuff that was being blown around and with more strong winds coming in in the next couple
days we wanted to get this up so it would not blow around anymore and then the hopefully the rest of
this ten will be okay it was okay in the last wind so it'll be okay through the rest of this and then
once the rest of this bad weather gets over with we can get all of that taken away down here as well
okay y'all we got the ten taken down to the scrap yard and that went well

bell has been out with us so much today she has a new favorite thing and that is to get mice there
were mice under that ten and she loved chasing those down and getting them so anyways we got
back from taking the ten down to the scrap yard that went well we have a lot of ten left to take
down there though that was just from one side of the roof down here at this hog house
we have three hog houses roofs that got replaced so we have about five more of those loads
and that's gonna be a lot of ten but we're hoping to actually borrow a different trailer when we
take that down and then it'll kind of speed things up and we got the worst stuff this stuff down here
was what was really being affected by the wind the worst the rest of the stuff went through the
wind okay so we wanted to get this cleaned up and taken care of before we get this more wind
that's coming in uh starting tonight we're supposed to have like thunderstorms up to an
inch of rain which is going to be wonderful because we really need the rain but there's
also going to be a lot of wind that comes with it and then on like uh wednesday we're supposed
to have like blizzard like conditions so honestly nobody knows what the weather's gonna do in the
next couple days we're just gonna have to wait and see but i will keep y'all updated on that
for now we're gonna get this tent stacked up down here we're gonna put those pallets on top of it
um and then that'll kind of weigh this because this stuff here was extra long we couldn't put
it on the trailer so yeah we're gonna get this situated then emma and i need to get the tractors
put away uh dad actually as soon as we got back he had to leave because he helps a neighbor feed hay
to his cows and he needed to be up there at like 3 40 right now so he had to get up there for that
but we're gonna get this all situated and then be about done for the day
bell is gonna be going up with me in the tractor she has been in the tractor a couple times before
so this shouldn't be like that terrifying for her hopefully emma's gotta go catch her
oh there she is
come here bell come here puppy oh it's okay it's okay puppy okay let's hope this goes well
look at this isn't this nice yeah she might even start enjoying this eventually
she was hunkered back behind the seat and all you could see was this little white tip of a tail
sticking out so we have improved with her sticking her head out now slowly making progress she's
gonna be a little tractor riding dog yet
do you enjoy your ride you actually look kind of comfortable down there it's kind of a nice spot
for you tractors are put away and that's gonna be about it so this ten should be situated for
um we're gonna head inside now so i'm actually very tired it's been a busy day but you know
busyness is good and we are already getting a lot busier once spring gets here on the farm
everything gets pretty busy pretty quickly so i know winter time has been slow for y'all
it's been slow for us too and nobody around here likes winter and there's just nothing to do during
the winter time but we are going to be having a lot of busy days once spring gets here i'll be
bringing y'all along with us for all of that and you'll be getting a lot more videos so i hope you

i'm gonna go inside and get cleaned up get a shower and get some supper because i'm very hungry
